The solar panels that they installed don't produce enough power to offset the added monthly cost of the loan. They've promised dates and sent emails confirming the supposed check's arrival - but no such check has arrived. Our experience with My Smart House has been beyond unacceptable. They installed our solar system 8 months ago, and it is STILL not activated. The panels have been sitting on our roof doing absolutely nothing while we continue paying full electric bills every month. Eight months of delays, no clear answers, and no firm activation date. Communication has been inconsistent and unprofessional. We've had to chase them for updates, and we still don't have resolution. To make matters worse, their installation caused a roof leak, which we only discovered when it rained. It's now been a year since the system has been fully operational. After permission to operate, it was discovered that the system was wired backwards and was reporting the production as usage. As before with their techs, they were on it coming over and over till it was right. While the management team has been a pain to work with; the techs at my smart house are awesome. I have not had any issues since then and the system is producing as it should according to the contract. Unfortunately, I still can't leave a positive review. The rebate check promised at install, and then later in July of 2025; is still absent. Also, after promising several times that they would fix the roof support that is under the current panels, they have not. These were the two incentives that made me sign with my smart house and they can't keep them. Also, why my system is performing as promised, the fact that the "educated guess" was made before I had A/C working, the production is not offsetting the use. Also, the placement of the panels close to a tree means that one of my panels is operating at one half of the average of the others. I guess I can remove the tree, but the tech's installed according to the main office plans and everything could have been shifted over so I could have kept the tree. read more

We recently had a storm. Come to find out My Smart House left the roof unfinished and as a result the roof leaked water in our attice destroying the master bedroom ceiling. Surprisingly they responded and came out the next day to see the damage as a reult of their neglect and mismanagement. Just like many of the other reviews I can finally see (the yelp page was on lock down from the overload of bad reviews) we are in the same boat. Signed up in sept of 2025 promised 30-90 days. We PAID 36k CASH UP FRONT and still have no final inspection date. I've talked to over 8 different people whom have since "left" the company. Oscar. Matt. Tim (who sold us the solar) Ashleigh, Teresa and Julian and Carl "the owner" to name a few. I know Tim and Ashleigh left because they were never paid their wages. Oscar and Matt Perry are gone. Carl won't answer his phone even though he "promised" he would. I've driven from San Diego to their location in murrieta, went inside to only stand there and be stared at by the few workers they had left for 15 mins. Someone finally came up to me to only have me wait another 30 mins for "the right person" to talk to me. I've filed with the BBB I've contacted credit card company my next step is filing a law suit. It looks like we'll have to hire an outside party to finish the install and get us online. I have NEVER experienced something like this in my life. They try and say it's due with licensing (if they answer the phone) when come to find out their license has been suspended! It seems like they take money from one to finish the job of another. We asked about adding more panels to lower our monthly bill, but My Smart House failed to disclose a critical detail: by adding panels, our solar contract would move from Tier 2 to Tier 3, which actually gives us less money back for the electricity we generate. Because of this, instead of saving money, we are now paying even more than before. On top of that, they promised multiple discounts and rebates -- including a battery rebate -- that we never received. We called several times to follow up, and eventually they just stopped answering our calls altogether. It's extremely frustrating to feel misled and ignored after spending so much money. A quick look at the BBB shows that many others have filed complaints against this company, and now we know why. This company is the worst! I paid them to install solar panels, batteries and a heat pump last Sept 2025. I paid cash at the time and was expecting a tax rebate of several thousand dollars. They installed the solar panels and did not connect them to each other on my roof. Additionally they did not link the panels into my electric system. After more than a dozen calls and several promises to "be out for sure next week," They have yet to finish the job. I have checked and they never filed for permits with the city so no other companies will come out to finish the job. It remains undone and I am left without my money and with panels and batteries connected to nothing. I have no way to repair the situation because they never filed for permits to install anything and no other companies want to step in at this point since there are no permits. They have closed down their offices and appear to have no intention of ever finishing this job. I am filing complaints with the BBB, the state contractors licensing agency and the local and state attorneys offices. Furthermore, it appears that they have forged documents to take out a loan in my name to be paid for this job even though it was paid in full and I have my credit card bill to prove this. Now in need an inspection to turn the system on. I have been waiting since early December for the inspection I was told it was in the works because of the holidays, then after the holidays it would be a week or two. Of course you can't get a live body when you call, only a call center in some other country. They call center said they would contact the service department and to hang on. After 30 minutes they never come back. The original guy, Matthew Hemp has been fired or layer off. He knows his customers are really mad, but even My Smart House will not talk to him. I purchased an HVAC system from this company with the understanding that it included a QuietCool system and duct cleaning. The HVAC was installed, but the QuietCool and duct cleaning were never honored. I have been calling, leaving messages, and following up for 3-4 months and have gotten nowhere. I've been placed on hold repeatedly, told someone would call me back, and nothing ever happens. Once they got paid, the communication basically stopped. At this point, this feels like a bait-and-switch and honestly a scam. Promises were made in writing and verbally, but they are not being fulfilled. If you're considering this company, be very careful and make sure everything is completed before final payment -- because getting them to honor anything afterward seems impossible. I have had a G-4 system installed by this company and am very unhappy. They never get back to and there instalation is very unprofessional. They installed my panels on my roof and took them down three different times because they where needing more parts and at every turn they where asking for payment before the job was done. I have had it installed for about one year and it took then over three months to complete and with three different installer. My equipment has never worked rite. I am so frustrated with this company. Don't use these guys! They did the worst job ever. They promised they'd get me the SGIP rebate and never applied for it. In fact they didn't even have a developer ID to even apply for the rebate. I've had 6 different project mangers and they still haven't finished the job over a year later. I've lost over $49k and still don't have a darn battery or panels. I'm ridiculously patient but have never been this mad about such terrible performance. They are thee WORST! If they did your panels, and you got a loan call the lender and complain. Ask them to freeze the funds. If it has been over a year ask them to Cancel the loan. You might get your debt cleared. Might. Worth a few phone calls though... If you want solar use a local small business. If you want batteries and SGIP rebates, use Sepra Solaris. They did my Tesla Powerwalls 2 years ago. Amazing company. Did ALL the paperwork for SGIP. They were quick to come to the house on July 12, 25 for initial installation of empty boxes and demanded payment of $16000 and had scheduled me a date to return to complete the work. I'm leaving this honest review after months of frustration with My Smart House. The only reason I initially left a 5-star review was because they offered a $100 gift card as an incentive. But here's the truth: I had solar installed in February 2024 and was promised a $1,000 check as part of their sign-up deal. That payout has been pushed back again and again, first to June 2024, then August, then December. When I called in February 2025, Julian (who handles their finances) told me it would finally be June 2025. Well, it's June--and still nothing. No updates, no follow-through, and now radio silence. On top of that, I had a rude conversation with someone named Candy, who was dismissive and unhelpful. This is not how you treat customers who followed every step and have waited over a year in good faith. This company has been deceitful, constantly going back on their word, and I will now be filing formal complaints with the BBB, CSLB, CALSSA, and the FTC. Went here today to figure out why on earth we keep getting HIGH electric bills. Julian in the front then explains to us after looking at our account that our solar panels are "producing more than what your contract said it would"... ok fine and dandy. It's great that our solar panels are healthy, but the issue was that we don't have enough of them to power the needs of our household and we wanted to get more. After we made this clear, he stopped defending the product and went on to schedule a sales rep to go over pricing.
