It's the unending winter of 2014. Salt and other crap abounds along the I-95 corridor. One evening, driving down to visit family in Richmond, some pebble or other road crap flew up and dinged my windshield causing a small hairline crack to begin. Because I'm insured with Geico - I took it initially to Safelite who attempted to fill the crack in my windshield. With the incessant near-zero temperatures, the Safelite patch job didn't hold. What had been about a 4 inch crack had now expanded to well over a foot long and was directly in my line of sight. I initially called Geico - who transferred me back to Safelite to set up a windshield replacement appointment. Total estimate $320.00. After doing some research, I found Dave at Precision Auto Glass. They're a small shop located in the back of an office complex in Columbia, MD. Dave quoted me a price of $225 and, when he noted to me that he in fact handles all of the auto glass repairs for Apple Ford - I knew I had found a capable shop. But that was an understatement. Dave and his tech did first-rate top-quality work. They were both extremely professional and handled my replacement as if they were doing their own vehicle. These guys were fantastic. I left the shop about 90 minutes after arriving with a brand new windshield, an extra hundred bucks in my pocket, and a new go-to glass shop for any future auto-glass needs. All you are asking for is fairness, professionalism, and some feeling of satisfaction of a job well done. Got a fair price, slightly better than other glass places in the area. He was very honest - saying he didn't want to replace my windshield if he didn't need to. He was right! He and another gentleman fixed the leak from the sunroof in under an hour! Great service! First off, their quote was $100-$200 less than other quotes I received (to replace a back windshield and small panel). I have to mirror all of the other sentiments in that this is probably one of the best around town. My windshield somehow got a crack in it that was quickly spreading because of the freezing temps. I searched out potentials via Yelp and stumbled upon this one. I inquired about time and availability to which he promptly responded! (Gold Star no. 1) He asked me a few questions about my vehicle and we were able to set up an appointment for the next day. The next day comes and I realized I had double booked. Immediately, I text him to see if I could bring my car in earlier...he said of course! (Gold Star no. 2) Dropped my car off at around 11am...He told me it would take until about 2pm, which was fine since I did kinda pop-up. The icing on the cake and clearly deserving of Gold Star no. 3, was at around 12:30'ish, he text me to say my car was all done and ready to be picked up! Whaaaaaatttt! #winning! He's super friendly, and clearly gets the job done! I had a pretty good sized chip in the windshield from where a large rock made impact on the freeway, so I knew it wasn't going to go completely away without a replacement. I called Dave at Precision Auto Glass on a Monday morning and was able to get an appointment for early afternoon. His quote is exactly what I ended up paying and was roughly $20 cheaper than the closest local competitor I contacted. He procures his glass from local warehouses as his shop is relatively small, so it was impressive he was able to obtain it in the few hours between my call and my appointment. Dave and his two technicians replaced my windshield in 45 minutes. They started exactly on-time of my appointment. I was able to witness the job throughout. My car was well taken care of. Everybody was very friendly and accommodating. I asked whether I could use a wireless network to work in the meantime, and Dave gave me access to a WiFi network. Understand that his shop is not comparable with perhaps the comfort of a waiting room at a larger competitor, so for him to make accommodations for me was all the more appreciated.
