As a retired previous owner me and my wife always seemed integrity before price and for fee gets I had no best place to consider than Poways precision. I've always let my wife take our family's car as I ended up trusting this shop too much but lately my wife had a couple concerns and some have started as Erik left she leaned that way but I've trusted the fellows in the back. I've showed few times years back and have spoken to Jim a very intelligent individual and let alone had very young talent that overtime I really really trusted. I personally would advise close friend of mine to this shop and had few friends having great luck with classsic cars so in regard to how it was, it was the shop to go. Now sadly the reason I write this is because we have decided to move on with a different shop and it all starts with as a business owner something very important that shows alot of integrity is employee retention. For the past year as my wife stated this shop has gone through employee after employee and at first we both agreed it was due to high expectations but after what these past few months have shown it's sad to say this shop needs to work from the top all the way down. So tomorrow I'm taking my 07 Tundra back to Accurate Automotive.....and that is a good thing! General maintenance for the most part. I first started working with AA in the fall of 2018 as I was preparing an older Dodge Dakota for one of my kids to drive. On very short notice midday on a Saturday, they were able to help me out by installing a new AC condenser and recharging the AC. They did the job quickly, and for what I thought was a reasonable price. Since then I've taken the Dakota and now my Tundra in a few additional times. This shop has been very professional to work with, and are always very willing to discuss in detail the state of the vehicle and the suggested fixes....and I ask a lot of questions :0) I grew up in a shop, I'm long-time DIY'er when is come to our vehicles, and I'm a mechanical engineer. All of these things mean I'm generally very particular about where I take our vehicles for maintenance when I can't do the job myself.....so when I say that AA checks all of my boxes, I say that from an informed position, and would very much recommend that if you are looking for a new auto shop in the Poway area, give Brandon or August and call and have a chat with them regarding your vehicle issue. I have been coming to Accurate since Brien was managing. This shop gives good service and most importantly, is trust worthy. I just had an issue with a third party warranty and Toyota of Poway (This is not a negative on Toyota of Poway, just a pain in the "A" with a 3rd party warranty). The drive shaft bearing was going out (over $700 at the dealer) and the warranty company denied the request, after a 48 hour wait, unless I could provide 50k miles worth of service records. I called Vic at Accurate and explained the situation. He said he could print out all of my service records and gave me advise on how to approach the situation with the dealer to have this approved. I dropped off the records and within two hours I was approved. I feel Vic went above and beyond for me. Also, there is a new owner of Accurate. I have talked to him a couple of times and he holds the same philosophy that Accurate is a neighborhood auto shop that you can rely on and trust. I am a real customer who is skeptical of auto shops and double check on the services recommended and performed and I trust Accurate. read more

I heard so many negative comments about Perry Ford that I looked online and called Poway Accurate Automotive. Jimmy Norman answered the phone with a friendly " how can I help you"... I didn't know if he was a manager or other employee, but he treated me great. I have a Ford F350 diesel, I was worried because my power steering wasn't responding and my breaks were making a whining sound, I also had two warning lights showing. Jimmy told me bring it in, it won't cost you anything for us to check. True to his word, they checked and found easy fixes, did a complete brake check and found I had about 40 % brake pad left which left me a few months to decide my financial options... A package deal better than any I've found so far. I haven't taken my car in to Poway's Precision Automotive since my last oil & filter change, but I'm taking the time to write this review because they sent me an email and asked me to. I started taking my old 1999 Honda CRV there years ago. A friend recommended them to me. Initially I went there because another shop had put in new struts in my vehicle and refused to fix the noise that my car was making after that. Thanks to Eric at PPA, the issue was resolved and I've continued to be a loyal customer there. In 2018, I replaced my 1999 CRV with a 2015 CRV and trust Eric and the PPA team to take care of my auto maintenance needs. Eric is professional, a good listener when I share my concerns, pleasant and honest about what the PPA team needs to do to with my car. I have very little automotive knowledge, so it means a lot to me that I can trust Eric. read more

This is hands down the best auto shop in San Diego. Jim is an amazing technician. My Suburu has been making a crunching noise every time I go uphill for years. I've spent HOURS sending it to mechanics trying to figure it out but no one was able to give me any answers. I sent it into Poway Precision and they noticed it right away. I told them no one's been able to figure it out and not to even worry about it. But they insisted on taking a look. A few hours later the problem was fixed for good. Turns out it the clue was in the very fine print in the manual . I adore this shop. I can tell they operate with integrity and they are experienced. Would never go anywhere else. Been to several Precision Tune shops over the past decade as I've moved from neighborhood to neighborhood and have had good experiences with all of them. Back in April my 1996 Honda Civic's water pump went out. Instead of just taking the easy money for the repair Precision Tune Poway recommended I take it back to the place that had installed it in late 2010, as the part was too new to have justifiably worn down (and, even though water pumps are cheap, it would be better for me to force them to replace it for free under the part warranty than pay for a new one). A common-sense issue, but I've encountered plenty of mechanics who wouldn't be as forthright. This was my first experience with Precision Tune Poway, and the honesty I received will insure future business from me. read more

I took my car to Poway's Precision Automotive because of the excellent reviews I saw. My car needed some significant work done on the differential, an air conditioning problem, as well as rear brakes. Erik set me up with one of their loaner cars while the work was done and although repairs of this type aren't cheap, Erik and the team at PPA did everything possible to achieve the best results while trying to keep my overall costs at a minimum. They explained the problems and provided a breakdown along with pictures. When I picked up the finished car, they had even washed and detailed it for me! Rediculous I went here as a referral from Discount Tire down the street. I got an alignment on my car and when I come to pick it up there were some missing papers of the alignment specs before they did the alignment. After, the slight pull to the right was worse. They looked in all the trashcans and everywhere for the paperwork, but it had vanished. The tech claimed he printed it and gave me a dumbfounded look. I don't trust getting work done on my car from a place that can't even keep track of paperwork. I would definitely take my business elsewhere. I ended paying for an alignment that couldn't be done and didn't have any paperwork to further diagnose this problem read more

First off I just want to say Brain and his crew are VERY helpful!!!! I have a Saturn sc1 and my monitors would not run for the longest time, the young kid at the shop was working on my car and was very helpful and not only worked on my car but informed me on where to go for the cheapest parts and was looking up information on how to help me in my situation!! They also did VERY cheap labor for my car !!! I've been to many places in San Diego and I must say that this place is the best!!!!! I highly recommend this shop, it's a shop that you can truly tell cares about each person who walks through the doors. My car was overheating while I was on my way to buy a new car. I pulled over to let my car cool down at the u haul next door. The u haul employee asked what was wrong. He told me to ask the guys next door for help. Jimmy and Derk helped me right away no questions. They sent me on my way with in 20 minutes and I was able to get my new car. He never tried to sell me anything I didn't need or fool me in anyway. I am not knowledgeable in auto repair, and have to trust the company that does repairs for me. I have an Audi, and had a sensor light come on. Took it to Audi Escondido and they told me it was a water pump, all to a cost over $1,300 to repair. I took it to Poway Precision, and after they tested the system, was told it was a totally different problem, and the cost was substantially less that what I was told at the dealership. They could have mis-led me and it would have cost me substantially to fix my car. But they were totally honest and I will always go to them first for any automotive needs. Returned from a trip to Utah with coolant splattered all over the front of the engine compartment. On a Monday morning I went searching for answers. The dealership was a month out. Another shop was 2 weeks. Precision said to leave it, and they would get to it within 24 hours, and gave me a loaner car. Later that day I was told I needed a water pump, and an engine flush. An OEM pump was installed, along with the engine flush, a new belt, and thermostat. I had the truck back Wednesday afternoon, and the engine compartment was clean of coolant splatter. Very professional. I will seek out Precision before the dealer in the future. read more

After having bad experiences with two auto repair places (being told I needed repairs that didn't actually need to be done), I found Poway's Accurate Automotive in 2015 via Discount Tire in PQ. We started with taking my car, a Mazda 3, then my daughter's car, an xB, and then my husband's car, an Elantra and will now bring our other daughter's car, a Mazda Tribute here. I have never had a bad experience and PAA is my go to place for oil changes, smog checks, routine/preventive maintenance, repairs, everything! I had my 2010 Honda Accord worked on last month and Brandon was very helpful. There 29 point inspection was amazing showed me what was urgent and what was not it had pictures very cool. Jim a mechanic who was working on my car was very nice to me and explained what he was doing and when my car was going to be finished. August contacted my a week after my car was finished to make sure it was running well. I recommend Poway Accurate Automotive to friends and family they do a great job. Checking in again! I haven't needed to come here for a while since the last repairs had my old car on its feet for well over a year. I plan on taking a vacation to the desert soon and took it in for a tune-up. Eric was very honest about the issues that might have me break down in the desert, and as always did a great job repairing those issues and explaining with diagrams what was necessary right now versus repairs I may need in the future.
