My review is for the Fidelity extended service contracts that they sell. This is the only place that I know of that will allow you to quote and buy a warranty online entirely. Fair, transparent pricing and hassle free process. Additionally, Michael Bernardo provided me with outstanding customer service. First time I was looking to use the service contract, the garage I brought my car to points out that some part of the contract was incorrectly filled by me and that Fidelity wasn't able to provide coverage unless corrected. Contacted Michael who was on it very quickly and things went smoothly from there. Keep in mind, this was my error and he took the time to make sure things went OK. I wanted to share an update as an owner of CPO S90 2018 which was 5 years / unlimited miles , I just saw the recent updates that you can only extend from your original selling dealer , this generated two Major issues. 1- I bought the car online from different far State . ( I can't Go to them in person) . 2- I had pleasant experience with them so they did try to help but the dealer owner push only 3rd party warranty and does not sell any CPO Extension. I have tried to reach to dealers in my state (Washinton & Oregon) they all had 3rd party warranty and all of them were extremely expensive, cheapest was 3500 for 24 k miles extra / 2 more years. After sharing with him the original selling dealer does not sell extensions, he was able to get an exception from Volvo and extended the CPO warranty to 10 years / 100 k miles. Invaluable customer service!!!! I can't believe how much time and money I have had spent in my previous car purchases. Two (maybe 3) years ago I had the great idea of buying a new car (I had mine for more than five years) I drove by Steingold Volvo and wanted to test drive a Volvo (my dad used to own few Volvo's and we know how safe and reliable they are) so stop by the dealer and sick and tired of car salesmen I decided to go to the lot they have across the street from the main office. After few minutes looking to different vehicles an gentleman showed up driving a pick-up truck ; roll down the window just to say: "hi good afternoon" all grease and tired-looking. told me "you own a Volvo?" my reply very indifferent was "nope I have a Nissan" we started a conversation that lead us to my Dad's old Volvo, the weather and so on. He told me about the main office across the street and they were about to close, (did not tried to sell me anything) he had the courtesy of walking across the street with me and introduce me to Michael Bernardo (Director of Marketing). After a conversation about my car how much I owe, monthly payments condition of my car Michael came to the conclusion that was not a genial idea to trade in my car (did not try to sell me anything) Instead he ask me if I wanted to drive one of the vehicles in the lot. ("you came in to drive one didn't you? ) so I Did (even tough he knew i wont buy one). I have to say it was a very pleasant conversation, at the end I have learned that the gentleman I met across the street was his uncle and that Michael was the son's owner. Few years later (May 2012) I decided to stop by again and guess what, Michael recognized me, his Mom (at the front desk) greeted me and called him right away, his brother is the finance manager (not sure the actual title ) and Dad at the back office. you will have that family oriented feeling. Went home saw a car that I liked, called Michael ask him about the car and he said he will have it ready for me next day. So I did drove it /love it /wanted! when I was ready to make an offer he said "see? it makes sense now" (talking about my trade-in) The car had some minor stone chips in the front hood/bumper and minor scratches on the back bumper I asked him if that can get buffered and his reply was a pleasant surprise "no worries, we get it painted" (jaw drooping) Since it is a used vehicle other places wont do that.. Extremely happy with my purchase i have been there many times after my initial purchase. I have gotten few accessories from them and they will even do the installation for you. Any time you bring the car there they have on time,washed and ready for you as was promised . The waiting room its just spectacular (leather couches, fresh coffee, tea, they even have computer tables and Wifi available) My latest experience: my car gave me an error msg, went to the dealer and it was the cooling fan, (btw my daughter just asked me if i have a typing limit ) so service its great!!! parts dept its good, I got a rental while the were fixing the fan I can write the whole night about this place superb customer experience, I will recommend this place to every person that I know. Although the car that I purchased was a certified pre-owned, it is in mint condition and easily mistaken for a brand new car. Transaction was super simple, no negotiation required. Mike sends his best price first try. You send payment via credit card on an online portal. He sends you the warranty. That's it. I contacted Michael Bernardo for help with an extended warranty. Michael was extremely helpful, he was also patient and very kind. When I explained to him what our dealership was offering for their prepaid maintenance contract, he cautiously advised me to double check the actual contract length because they might be including Volvo's maintenance period in their prepaid maintenance period. For example, the dealership offered us five years of maintenance, but Volvo provides three years automatically, so we were really only getting two additional years, not five. I called Michael a couple of other times for clarification on Volvo's various warranties and he always treated me with respect and he was never in a rush to get me off of the phone. If you are looking for a vehicle or an extended warranty, I highly recommend Michael at Steingold Volvo. I bought my car with 68,000 miles and paid $2000 extra to have my vehicle certified pre owned inspected by Steingold.. Under 9,000 miles later my back brakes were grinding and I had to pay over $800 to have them replaced. Steingold offered no help at all and couldnt provide a point inspection checklist. I ended up going to Viti volvo and received much better customer service and a discount on my brakes. Recently I called Steingold to inform them my AC was having issues turning on. The service advisor said he wouldn't be able to get me in for 5-6 days and said he had no loaner cars. The service advisor asked my name and phone number and advised me he would call me back but never called me back(4 days later). Due to the terrible service from Steingold I will once again try to go to Viti Volvo for a warranty issue. I highly recommend buying from Steingold or going their for service. read more

Update*** My car broke and in a pinch I tried to come in for a service appointment (this dealer is closest and with the way my car is acting I don't want to drive it and towing would be to expensive). Anyhow I was shocked, after making the appointment I got a call back and the women said "we can't service your car here, sorry". Furthermore the explanation was "apparently you left a bad review on the internet and you complained to Volvo about us, please explain to me what happened so I can get approval from the owner to take you". I tell the women I had an issue where I thought I was given misinformation and inaccurate price quotes and I can't tow my car to Boston because it would cost to much. I was shocked! Apparently instead of taking criticism constructively and fixing the problem they just ban you from the dealership! Also they are still advertising "volvo service for life" on their service page, ridiculous because that was the original problem I had with them, faulty advertising. Are you tired of the old car-buying routine where the Wizard Of Oz sits in some office out of sight and sends one of his many minions out to offer you coffee and a seat in his office? While you sit and admire the many "Salesman of the Year 2001" plaques and pictures of the salesman's young children that adorn the desk, the minion shuttles offers back and forth between you and the almighty Wizard, who for some reason, is not too busy to negotiate but too busy to be seen or heard from directly. I had grown VERY tired of this routine, and thusly decided to do as much as was humanly possible on my own OUTSIDE of the dealership so I was only in when I knew exactly what I wanted and exactly what I wanted to spend for it. I found the Volvo I was looking for at Steingold and placed a call to the dealership. I was connected directly to Steve, the Director of Sales. That's right, Director of Sales. I was shocked. I couldn't believe that in this show, the Wizard was being played by an actual living, breathing human being who was willing to converse directly with me and whose first order of business was not to tell me why my car wasn't worth any real money. Steve asked me a number of questions about my car with regards to its condition, features and mileage. Then he asked for a few minutes while he did some research. Sure enough, a few minutes later, he called me back with an offer. An OFFER. On my car. Without having seen it. "As long as you don't drive it in here and it's missing the steering wheel, engine, and passenger side door, we should be all set." he says. We negotiate a bit, and I tell him I'll be down that evening. When I arrived, the new car I had picked was gassed up and ready to go, sparkling clean and ready to be taken home. I had prepared myself for this...this was the time when Steve would count on me getting too attached to the new car, and he would prey on that attachment to NOW tell me why my car wasn't worth what he had originally said it was worth. I came ready for battle. But, there was no battle. Steve had all the paperwork completed and was just waiting on a few signatures from me. The paperwork process took all of 10 minutes. Steve had his uncle who works in the service department uninstall my GPS which was hard-wired into my old car for me while he had his brother call Sirius and negotiate six months of free service for me (I was only entitled to three). So in the 30 minutes TOTAL I spent in the dealership, I was assisted by three members of the same family all who provided exemplary service. These guys know what they're doing and they do it right. A little bit of honesty and integrity goes a long way in business, and I wish other dealerships would follow suit. But then again, I don't really care if they do or not, because I plan on returning here and only here. read more

This review is for the Volvo VIP extended warranty (ie service contract) that Steingold offers nationwide for sale via the internet and over the phone. I've spoken to this dealership twice about purchasing an extended warranty. Once in September 2014 and again in January 2015. Both times I felt I was treated fairly and honestly when discussing the best warranty options for me. (Everyone is going to have different needs, different driving habits, etc. and the professionals at Steingold take all of that into account when helping you calculate warranty options). They were also very patient with me when explaining terms and didn't give the hard sell (far from it). Even though I may not purchase a warranty directly through Steingold (jury is still out as I write this), the reason I'm writing this review is because I felt they were so honest, that I had the best, most accurate info I could get to make the exact right decision -- and have the right information in-hand only because of the attitude and honesty I got from speaking with Mike. Really, buying an extended warranty is a little like gambling, it's a big outlay of money on something that may or may not happen. So, deliberation is something normal when figuring out which warranty to get. I love my recently purchased pre-owned Volvo and want to keep it a long time, but costs certainly worry me. If you're reading this you may be in the same boat. You may have found this dealer on Volvo forums, like I did. My recommendation is to definitely give Steingold a chance and if you can reach him, talk to Mike. The deal they're offering is pretty much the best I've found, certainly better than regular "market" price, but beyond that, even so, you'll get honest info as to whether or not this is the right situation for you, price notwithstanding. After a horrible customer service experience at Viti Volvo I decided to take the trip over to Pawtucket hoping they could help me. Before I went I talked to Mike on the phone who knew exactly what my problem was and what needed to be done to fix it. They were able to fix my Sirius radio in no time flat. Side note the guys at Viti kept telling me my car didn't have Sirius in it which is why it didn't work. They have a very considerable waiting area and everyone was professional. On Monday November 22nd, 2021(THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING), I lost my only key fob while grocery shopping which rendered my car useless and functionless. I called around and realized that the only way I would be able to get a new key fob made was if I had the car towed to a Volvo dealer. The earliest my local Volvo dealer could get me in was December 3rd.. and most dealerships quoted me over $360 for the key to be made and programmed. Upon calling Steingold, I spoke with their Director of Service Susan Cota(who is excellent by the way) and she told me to get the car towed there ASAP. Which is what I did, not really knowing if they'd be able to squeeze me in on such a busy week. Well..they took such great care of my fiancee and I, that we will be using their service shop for all of our cars needs(even though it is the 3rd or fourth closest dealer to us!!) They got us in and out the same day!!! Sue was amazing, helped us through the whole process. We did have to wait awhile, which was fine because they were doing me a huge solid. And did I mention their customer lounge is incredible!? You need to check it out on their website to believe it yourself. Purchased a certified pre-owned 2009 XC70 from Steingold back in 2012. Loved the car and had a mostly positive experience with them, and went to them for whatever maintenance work I needed despite living nearly an hour's drive away. In 2013, I was in a minor accident, and, being that I was comfortable with the dealership as well as their service, I decided to bring it to them for the repair work (around $5000 dollars worth of work). I got it back looking as good as new and was happy with everything, but then my relationship with the dealership soured when I learned my wife and I were expecting another child, and needed to get a bigger vehicle. It was at this time I took my XC70 in for a trade-in at a Volvo dealership closer to me, who had a few 2012 XC90s on the lot that I was interested in. I was up front with them about my accident, and knew I would take a hit on my trade-in value, but I was shocked to discover that, in addition to my own accident, the Carfax this dealer pulled listed 2 more accidents (within months of of each other) back in 2009. When the vehicle was sold to me, it was sold as a "Steingold original", originally sold from the dealership new, and with a "clean Carfax". I was told it was never in an accident. I was offered less than half of the vehicle's book value, and left the dealership shocked and angered. I contacted Steingold, and my salesman told me that Carfax sometimes doesn't report accidents for years, and also told me that the offers I was getting for the car were from a dealership with a questionable reputation, assuring me that he'd do his best to get me into an XC90. My salesman had been helpful prior to this, so I had no reason to doubt him, but, as weeks went by and I heard nothing from him, I started to call to see if he'd made any progress finding me a suitable vehicle. From then on I noticed a change in his demeanor, and it was clear he didn't want to deal with me. He kept telling me that he couldn't get me into an XC90 for the price I was looking to pay, that he couldn't give me more than "X" amount of dollars for my car due to the accident history (he said my accident was the main reason for the lowball offer despite Carfax not even reporting on that one yet, and that it would just go to auction as he wouldn't carry it on his lot), and, basically, couldn't do anything for me with the vehicles he currently had in stock were "more than I could afford". From here I called Volvo HQ, and asked about the whole Certified Pre-Owned guarantee, and also asked if they could help me in working out something with Steingold or another dealer given that I was sold this vehicle under false pretenses. Volvo HQ said they do not get involved in disputes between dealerships and their customers, but would do what they could to try and smooth things out. I told them that I hoped they could because, if they couldn't, I was going to look into whatever legal options I had. This wasn't a threat, mind you. This was simply the truth. If I had any legal recourse to help recoup some of my losses, whether it be through Carfax or Steingold, I was going to use it. It wasn't long before I got a strange phone call from my salesman. He said he was "disappointed" that I went to Volvo and told me that he was friendly with everyone at Volvo HQ and that anything I said to them would come back to him. He also miraculously "remembered" the two other accidents that the vehicle had, and said they involved a "rock on the highway hitting the grill" and that they were so inconsequential he'd forgotten them, and, once again, reminded me that my accident was much worse and the main reason I was getting the shaft despite me telling him that, to that date, Carfax had yet to add it to their report. He gave me an attitude about my "legal threats" that was somewhat menacing, and then told me in no uncertain terms that I should shop elsewhere for new vehicles in the future. Volvo followed up with me and I told them about the experience. They apologized and hoped I would still be a Volvo customer, but I told them the truth; the entire experience soured me on the brand. Basically, these guys will be the nicest folks on Earth when you're buying your vehicle or taking business to them (as I did with my repairs - repairs I could have had done ANYWHERE, but chose to have them done there out of a sense of customer loyalty). However, once you have any real issues (as other reviews here seem to point out), they're just like any other car dealership. My salesman also went out of his way to make me feel like I didn't matter to them as he seemed to enjoy pointing out that I couldn't afford the vehicle I wanted. I find this amusing as it wasn't a matter of what I could afford, but a matter of what I WANTED to pay. I still give them two stars for service as the folks in that department were upfront and decent, but I took my money elsewhere and purchased a new vehicle from another luxury brand. read more

I am always amazed at the personal service I feel from Steingold, even when ordering parts online. My wife drives our garage kept 2006 S60 (26,400 actual miles) and she refuses to replace it. Occasionally I will replace a part in order to keep the car in perfect shape. Online ordering is very easy and if you provide the VIN they will check to make sure the part requested is correct for the vehicle. Let me start by saying that I DID buy a car here. My experience was quite the opposite of the other reviewer. I had a great experience when purchasing my car from Paul (he was patient and friendly). But it went down hill from there. I had to bring my car in for service. I was not asked if I needed a ride home or a loaner car, nor was I told how long it would take until I got to the dealer. They also neglected to give me an estimate- just told me $112 an hour for labor and it would only be a few hours. I was hit with a huge bill!!! After calling the dealer for a week and getting passed off to several people I finally was able to speak with the owner. He said he spoke with my father....um aren't I the customer? I left MY name and MY number. Then he was condesending and short with me. In one breathe he would say that yes, someone should have explained the cost to me prior to service and yes, someone should have called me back. But then in the next breathe he would say his dealership didn't do anything wrong and he couldn't do anything for me. Also when I asked about why I should go back to Steingold he said he would be happy to help me find another dealership and agreed our relationship was over. Wow is that how you treat all of your customers??? Oh wait you don't want me as a customer! To make matters worse the defrost on my car isn't working and a bulb is out. Obvisouly I am NOT going back to a dealership where they don't understand customer service. Save yourself the headache and head to Boston Volvo Village in MA or Secor Volvo in CT. ps- I wonder if I will get a response from the dealership? I purchased my Volvo from these guys in July, fantastic service, they admitted to not being the cheapest in the area but the highest quality - I recently was in a small fender bender and the service department was fantastic as well. I'm VERY PICKY where i bring my car and so far so good. They even gave me ride home. read more

Seriously the best car service experience I have ever had. I was on a road trip from Boston to CT for my parents 50th anniversary lunch and it's snowing. And the washer fluid isn't working so I cannot see anything. Stop and fill it up. Still not working. Saw Steingold Volvo down the street and strolled in. Never been there before. The place was packed with customers. Upon hearing my story they pulled someone out of an office to look at my car - literally 10 minutes later it was fixed with two new delivery valves and get this, they only charged me $57!!!! I would have paid anything to get back on the road. Exemplary service and some truly good people. read more

I was driving on the Mass Pike heading to. Pt. Judith and had an issue with a sreeching sound with the car. I called Steingold and they were FABULOUS. Pedro the tech drove the car with me a d they showed me thr problem. While I was there for two hours, the customer area is great...the time passed quickly. I've driven Volvos for over 20 years and have had experiences with different Volvo dealerships in New England. Recently I was looking to get out of my S60 and into a newer model. I still owed on my S60 and didn't have much for a downpayment so most dealerships wouldn't give me the time of day. Stephen kept in contact, mostly through email, as we went through the different options available given my circumstances. I went in to test drive a newer used S60 with low miles; I test drove it but the car wasn't for me. As we started looking at leasing I mentioned that I love the V60 wagons but they are out of my price range. Stephen listened and found enough incentives to not only make the deal happen but my new payment on a 2020 V60CC is lower than my old S60 payment. I only dealt with Stephen, there was no back and fourth with the finance department or other managers. The day of delivery, the car was waiting for me in the showroom - all paperwork was ready to be signed and I received an in-depth tutorial on the new technology in my car. This is the fourth brand new Volvo I have purchased and by far the quickest least stressful experience. read more
