Went here for the first time on a Friday afternoon upon referral from my dentist. Yes, I needed a root canal *sad face* I am told this office is typically closed on Fridays, but will come in for scheduled cases. And I was able to be scheduled quickly. I was able to fill in new patient forms online prior to coming in. Located in a shared medical office building, the waiting and reception area is small but so clean and beautifully decorated. Most importantly, Dr. Oswald was so friendly and explains every step, making sure I know what is happening and that I am at ease. When I mentioned that I have previously been treated by another more established endodontist in the area, Dr. Oswald spoke highly of the other Dr. the only painful part of the procedure was when the anesthesia was being injected around the tooth, and that is unavoidable. The root canal itself was painless and quick. I did not even have any pain later that afternoon when the anesthesia wore off. Additionally, I had mentioned another area that my dentist had pointed out, involving a previous root canal. He took the time to take and xray and give some advice, totally appreciated. No one wants to have a root canal.. but this office and Dr. Oswald is a great place to go if it does come up! read more

Not to be dramatic but Dr. Oswald changed my life. I had been suffering from intense dental pain on the left side for months, and was referred to Dr. Oswald by my primary dentist. The care they provide in office is exceptional! All of the staff is very kind, which makes the daunting experience of a root canal less intimidating. Dr. Oswald is extremely kind and easy to talk to, and walks you through the entire process. The first visit left me feeling confident that root canals were actually not bad, the only thing that hurts is the numbing. The life changing part comes when I needed an emergency root canal the weekend of Christmas. Their office was listed as closed, but I had spent the whole night before in a type of pain even multiple Advils and Tylenol and ice could not soothe. I sent an email to their office at 5AM, not expecting a reply, but by 8AM, Pricilla had called me and let me know that even though they were technically closed, they could bring me in for an emergency procedure. By 9:30 AM I was in the chair ready for the procedure. (I would like to add that I was so relaxed and sleep deprived during this procedure that I kept falling asleep. That is a testament to how well and flawlessly they pull off root canals). I felt guilty about going in, since they were closed for holidays, but neither Dr. Oswald or his assistant made me feel at all like an inconvenience. After this visit, for the first time in months, I was able to go day to day without relying on painkillers to be able to exist. Don't get me starting on the instant hot/cold sensitivity. On October 21, 2024, I was referred to Dr. Oswald of Precision Endodontics by my regular dentist for a root canal treatment that my dentist felt may be somewhat complicated therefore requiring the expertise of an endodontist. I had no problem getting an appointment with Dr. Oswald on a timely basis. On the day of the appointment, I was in the waiting lounge no longer than five minutes before being seated in the dental chair. Dr. Oswald presented an x-ray of the tooth on the monitor in front of me and explained in detail, in understandable terms, what the problem was and the treatment procedure. He also estimated the time he would need to fix it. He immediately proceeded with the root canal treatment and was finished exactly in the time he had estimated. At no time from beginning to the end of the procedure did I feel any discomfort or pain. In summary, I found Dr. Oswald to be very professional, yet friendly and easy to talk to. He is a very likable person. I was impressed with his skill while doing the procedure. His assistant Brooke was also equally cordial. I felt completely at ease the entire time. I have no reservations recommending Dr. Oswald to anyone who would be in need of a great endodontist. I can assure you that you will be satisfied with his services. read more

I was super impressed by Dr Oswald and his staff. I recently had to get a root canal and my primary dentist referred me to Dr Oswald. They quickly scheduled me for a consultation and Dr Oswald did a thorough exam to determine the issue. I was scheduled not long after to come back for my root canal. I was super nervous but it was such a smooth and pain free process. I am super happy that I was referred to them and am very satisfied with the work that he did. My tooth is all better now and am in the process of getting my permanent crown replaced at my regular dentist. I have been to other Endodontists in the area and this office and Dr Oswald are way better in my opinion! Great experience (even though it is going to the dentist), from the spa like fragrant and soothing waiting area, friendly staff and Dr. Oswald with his awesome bedside or dental chair side manner. By far the best dentist I have had the pleasure of going to... I am not one of those people who like going to the dentist, let alone an endodontist for a root canal... Let's say the words root canal bring forth anxiety and fear! Dr. Chris Oswald and his team were unbelievably courteous, kind, and professional! I was seen promptly at my appointment time and gave me a quoted time of when I would be then and he exceeded that time! He informed me along the way of what I should expect during the treatment and this definitely made the experience so much more bearable. Unfortunately, my treatment did not go as expected due to the extensive issues I had and I experienced major pain... I emailed him through his website and he promptly called me back and took care of the pain! He even provided his cell phone number to contact him if the pain does not subside! Many dentists, both general and specialists, can learn from Dr. Oswald's practice and professionalism. He is genuine, kind, and all-around great dentist! I had cracked a tooth over Labor Day and it turned out the tooth was dead and needed a root canal. They were able to see me last minute on a Friday and Pricilla and Brook were very friendly. Dr. Oswald was very informative and helpful and we appreciated how attentive he was to our concerns and situation. The procedure took about an hour and half and he and Brook made sure to check how I was doing and let me know what step they were on. He took an X-ray right after to make sure everything looked good and the filled canals looked great. My husband had an appointment with his regular dentist, who is also my dentist. I was still feeling some soreness where he had done a root canal over a year ago. He said he was going to refer me to the Endodontist Dr. Chris Oswald downstairs in the same office complex. He said Dr. Oswald has the latest equipment to detect if there is a fracture or another canal in the tooth that can't be detected by regular xrays. So went to the office to ask about seeing me for an appointment. They were able to see me on the spot and took my info down and did the x-rays on mouth with the latest x ray machine where you stand( a Cat scan). And set the appointment for today (Monday) saw him on Friday. I'm one who dreads going to the dentist no matter what it is but his staff Pricilla and Brooke and Dr. Oswald put you at ease and make sure your comfortable. So Dr. Oswald with his cool Microscope looking into my tooth found that I indeed have a 4th canal (of course I would lol ) he said it was so tiny that my regular dentist would not have seen it. Thank God he found it and cleaned it out...now don't get me wrong I was in that chair for over an hour and my jaw was so sore thought I was getting lockjaw lol but after the procedure his assistant Brooke massaged my jaw line which helped. Thought I was going to be hurting later after the anesthia wore off. Nope! Dr. Oswald you did a fantastic job forever grateful that my pain is gone. I had a terrible toothache over thanksgiving weekend and my dentist referred me elsewhere to get a root canal. I've never had one before and I was very anxious. They sent me to Precision Endodontics (right away!) in Chula Vista. From the moment I walked in, I felt the office and staff were all very calming. The office looked very new, very clean, and comfortable. I Met Priscilla in the waiting room and she was very sweet. After a few minutes, Brooke brought me to one of the dental rooms where I met Dr. Oswald. Together, they both made a great team and assured me that they would take care of me. They answered all of my questions and eventually got me numb. Dr. Oswald has a gentle touch and great chair side manner. I didn't feel a thing! I think the treatment was a little over an hour and I actually fell asleep for a portion of it. The overall experience was great! I had a little discomfort the next day but two days later, the toothache is gone and I feel so much better. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Oswald to anyone who needs a root canal. read more

I recently had a root canal which I was NOT looking forward to. I mean, come on.. it's a root canal. This generally just sucks.
