I only paid $400 and got exactly what I asked for with the addition of hair that breaks in my hand, a bleached shirt, and patchy spotty uneven highlights in a different color - astonishing. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have never been tempted to right a negative review but WOW. This women said "LISTEN when I'm speaking to you" when I was nodding my head and "yes ma'aming" her. I am a full time student who works only part time, and on the phone I had asked for a price range so I could have an idea. Meanwhile my Audi is in the shop so I'm tighter this month. She tells me it will be $225 flat rate, and I even reiterated it back to her. In person she then proceeds to say "I don't work with people that have budgets"... I was appalled and quite embarrassed. Also, enraged because why did she give me a price and why didn't she say "I don't work with people that have budgets" over the phone instead of having me waste time and money to come in. In fact, for her to be dressed in improper work attire as well as her butt crack hanging out the ENTIRE time. Even when she refused to do my hair and left the building, her crack was still showing. She was SO snappy the entire time I spoke to and with her. She said that to get my hair blonde it would be 3 appointments and a total $1500..... a joke. Considering her hair was 3 different colors herself, but she "specializes in blondes"...She then stated that if it went brown I would never EVER be able to go back blonde? I'm not sure about that , but I believe that's wrong. PLEASE save your time, money and most importantly your happiness. She soured my entire day because of her attitude and remarks. I now have no hair appointment for two job interviews because she left me hanging. -5 stars. Michelle, the "business" you run is embarrassing and the results of that will show soon. I found Michelle on Yelp after reading review after review from people who were so happy with their hair, and I'm so glad I did. I have been growing out my gray for at least 8 months and decided I needed help. I had about 3 inches of gray and the rest was a washed out red color. The spray color from CVS was no longer enough to make my hair color look cohesive. lol I did not take a picture to Michelle of what I wanted my hair to look like because I really wasn't sure what to do. I just told her that I didn't want all silver and I didn't want any red. From there, she came up with a plan and the end result was so great that it made me tear up. Michelle is the best- look no further if you want someone to fix your Covid snafu! As a COVID ICU nurse, I felt unsafe going to a stylist during the height of the pandemic in 2020. I didn't want to potentially spread the virus, but I needed a change in my hair. I went to Sally's and picked out a dark brown, and box dyed my hair that looked great at the time... but when it grew out it was awful! The line from my roots to the black (my hair picked up alllll the dye) made me look like I was balding and I had no dimension in my hair. It just looked blah and I had lost a lot of self confidence. Fast forward, I got my vaccine and when sanctions lifted I wanted and needed some stylist TLC and didn't realize just how difficult it would be to lift the box dye from Sally's (PSA: don't box dye your hair ever ever ever, not even during a pandemic lol). I really wanted a balayage. Michelle was honest with me about the process of lifting black to blonde. She explained that it would take a few sessions. She didn't "judge" me for the box dye and has been very caring and educational about why not to do it again in the future. Together we laid out a plan that would help my hair transition in a timely manner without damaging it. She gave me homework to help prep my hair before coming in, and then gave me clear instructions for caring for it afterwards. She is a great communicator and will go above and beyond to help you meet your hair goals. Michelle has a clean, cozy salon in a calm environment, and she has a very calm demeanor about her. I am so unhappy and dissatisfied with Michelle's skills as a hair colorist on my hair. I ended up with a different color then requested. I gave Michelle a picture and even the formula to use on my hair to achieve the color I wanted. She did not use most of the formulas provided. I informed Michelle the day of the consultation that I couldn't have bleach in my hair. Michelle told me that because my hair had a Keratin treatment she wouldn't use bleach. I informed Michelle when my hair was finished and blow dried that I didn't like the color. She applied some color to try and fix it and this attempt failed miserably. She also didn't wash and blow dry my hair but sent me home with my hair gooey with dye in it. For $315 I would expect I should go home with my hair completely done and color to my satisfaction. My hair is now brittle and dry as a result of this ordeal. Michelle lacks skills as a colorist and has poor communication skills. Note: I am responding to Michelle's comments below since there are many erroneous and fabricated statements made in her response to me. First I must reiterate that I wanted the colors of the picture I gave you plain and simple. There was absolutely no conversation that I wanted anything but those colors and I even provided you with the formula to use. The formula called to balayage the ends. Had I known this was "bleach" I would have not done the process. I didn't love the final color when you finished my hair. There were shades of orange and yellow that I didn't want as seen in the pictures posted. My hair was so much lighter than the picture I provided to you. I immediately informed you I was unhappy. When I texted you that evening you said that in order to fix my hair, I would have to pay for the service as you had already spent a lot of time and product on me. This was unprofessional and infuriated me since things had gone so bad and it was your responsibility to make things right. You did acquiesce and tell me you would put a toner on my hair Friday at no charge (I would still have to pay for blow drying which I already paid for) after several texts from me telling you to charge me more money was plain wrong. I did not return to you to redo my hair because quite frankly I didn't trust you would get my hair right . You had already tried to fix my hair once unsuccessfully. I had lost complete confidence in your skills and abilities as a hair colorist. I also felt you had damaged my hair with bleach. My hair is now dry, brittle, and damaged from the service you provided and had nothing to do with me going to another salon to get my hair color corrected. I am an older woman who has gone to several colorists in my lifetime for my hair and have lots of experience with people in the service industry. This was one of the worst experiences I have had with anyone. read more

I've gotta say I'm truly shocked by the one star reviews. Michelle is AMAZING. She's kind, conversational and down to earth. She's low drama, which I love. But beyond her easy personality, she's really really talented at cutting and coloring. I'm super picky about my thick hair and I went to the same person in Venice for 10 years until I moved to Redondo and just couldn't handle the drive anymore. I got a recommendation for Michelle and I'm SO HAPPY with her. She makes my hair look gorgeous. Like, I love my hair. It's something I'm proud of. But she makes it look so luxe. Talk about a crown! She gives me the prettiest blonde highlights and the cut! I could go on forever about the cut. I'm 15 months postpartum so I've got some wild baby hairs growing in all over (thanks hormones!). I'm also transitioning from a kind of "mom bob" to longer, layered hair and somehow she has been able to masterfully cut my hair so this transition from short to long is 0% awkward and 100% gorgeous. I came across Harbor Hair and found Michelle! And so happy I did! I called in the morning and was able to pop into an opening she had later that day!
