Honestly I have nothing but Amazing things to say about this place and how it is ran. First of all I had Kassandra and she was AMAZING. She is so sweet and professional and caring and you can tell she truly cares about her clients. I had gotten my hair done years ago from another salon and they bleached and butchered my hair so I was so nervous to come to another salon to get it done. But Kassandra took the time to listen and my hair is BEAUTIFUL! She is an expert on hair cuts as well, I went from long hair with no volume or definition to beautiful long layers with bangs that frame my face, I got a balayage done and now that I have lived here for 5 years I think I have found my new salon. Also a big shoutout to the owners as well, Roger was super professional and you can tell very proud of his studio he runs it well, he checks on every single client that comes in to make sure all the stylist are doing PERFECT work. YES! I would absolutely recommend this salon!! At first there was some confusion regarding my service. I called and was told I could come at 4. However, I didn't pay the deposit. So by the time I arrived, someone else had booked the time slot. However, the owner was very apologetic and very friendly. He was able to quickly schedule me in the next day. This time paying the deposit. I forgot the young ladies name,I want to say Veronica, anyway she was so very sweet, kind, considerate and conversational. Whenever,I need a trim or curl, I would absolutely return and recommend her and this salon. SIDE NOTE: Which I don't understand why there are so many complaints about the deposit being non refundable. Because literally EVERY SINGLE STYLIST I have found in SA has requested a non-refundable deposit. (Which is understandable when you consider people no showing. read more

I let my hair grow out for a year. I booked Junior for a butterfly cut. Layers... seriously, I'm so amazed. It's perfect!!! I showed him a video for like two seconds. He is a master at cuts!!! I'm never happy with my hair!!! This cut with layers is perfect. I won't ever go anywhere else. read more

I normally don't write reviews, but my experience at Studio 27 on April 27th was extremely disappointing and needs to be shared. I went in for a partial balayage and clearly explained that I wanted the TOP of my hair highlighted. I even showed multiple reference photos to make sure there was no confusion. Instead, the stylist focused on the bottom of my hair and gave me very minimal "baby highlights," which was not what I asked for at all. On top of that, I specifically requested that my gray hair be covered, yet I left the salon with a visible patch of gray still in the back of my head. I was also quoted $50 for a haircut beforehand, but was later told it would be $70--and the haircut itself was barely noticeable despite me asking for layers. What made the experience even worse was being asked to pay the full amount BEFORE the service was completed. This made me feel uncomfortable and pressured, especially when it came to tipping, since I hadn't even seen the final result yet. In total, I paid $360 ($50 deposit + $270 service + additional charges), and I left feeling completely dissatisfied. I couldn't even sleep that night because I felt like I had been taken advantage of. I immediately expressed my concerns to the stylist and asked about a partial refund. I was told the owner would contact me on Tuesday--but he never did. I had to follow up myself. When I finally spoke to him, he was dismissive, defensive, and aggressive. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, he stated he would review audio and video recordings of my conversation with the stylist--which was also concerning, as customers are not made aware that their conversations may be recorded. He then told me he would "challenge" my dispute and abruptly hung up. This was, without question, the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Between the poor results, lack of transparency, pricing inconsistencies, and unprofessional handling of my complaint, I would strongly advise others to think twice before going here. Found my new Salon! I'd been looking for a new salon as I wanted something closer. I found Studio 27 through Yelp which led me to their website and then Instagram. The work from Alabama really impressed me. I took a chance and booked an appt with her. The interior of the salon is very cute, clean, and welcoming (sorry no pic). The staff was very nice. My hair is definitely long and I have a lot of it. My services took 6 hours but Alabama was great. Very friendly, did not rush, explained each step, and always asked if I was ok. She def had her work cut out for her with my hair! As you can tell from pics, I had a lot of growth of my natural hair color (dark) she was able to even everything out for a more cohesive look. "It's the little things" that's the thought I was left with as I walked out of the salon today. Not only is the team at Studio 27 incredibly talented at their craft (Roger was amazing!) but I truly felt welcomed and appreciated as a new client. Things at my old salon had become "stagnant" shall I say and a switch was long over due-after my visit here today, I feel like this salon is next level with all the little touches and of course their work. I decided not to have my hair colored there. The prices are ridiculously overpriced. They wanted to charge me over 60 dollars more than anywhere else in San Antonio. My consultation with Roger was enlightening, as I have worn extensions in the past. His suggestions on color, length, texture, and quality were much appreciated. It really showed me how knowledgeable he was on the services I needed. Thankfully, they were able to schedule me in fairly quick considering I was moving and starting a new job. Upon arrival, I was kindly greeted and offered snacks & refreshments. Sofi did a really great job installing my k-tip extensions. Highly recommend this place, probably the best place in San Antonio to get your hair dyed! I'm not an expert in hair by any means, but I'm a research fanatic and have done a ton of research into getting your hair balayaged etc. Being Asian and having dark hair it can be so hard to find someone to dye it correctly without looking like a big ol orange head. I hate brassy hair!! I've actually had my hair balayaged before too years ago and it looked good, but I still looked brassy. It was easy to get an appointment and every one working here was so nice! It took a little over four hours to get my hair balayaged and cut. I got a groupon so the price was great! Keep in mind the longer your hair is the more expensive it is, definitely do the free consultation before to know expectations. I am super happy with the results. Junior (my hair stylist) exceeded my expectations! I was thinking my hair was still going to be more of a caramel color, but I wanted more of an ashy brown blonde color! Usually people say it takes about two hair sessions to get ashy blonde, but great hair stylists can do it in one! I was shook at how light I was able to get! I've never been this light (no I'm not platinum or totally blonde but still). I don't have great pictures that really show the extent of my hair off but the picture attached is the best I could do. So thankful I do not have brassy hair, cause you just never know. I think the reason they are able to achieve the results they do is because they use awesome products, so I would highly recommend coming here if you need to get your hair done in SA. They use Brazilian B3 bond builder which is like Olaplex but better, it really helps you get blonder without as much damage. They also use Kevin Murphy products. I would definitely ask to get the B3 add on if it's not included. I did the groupon, so it was but just make sure! Also if you do go lighter I highly recommend Fandola purple shampoo, it's made my hair even ashier and blonder! read more

First of all, Roger is completely amazing!! I went in to get a purple foliage, and halfway through, after a glass of wine, decided to go blonde! Roger is the B E S T!! And he took me blonde halfway through our appointment with no complaints at all! He made my blondest dreams come true!!! I have darker hair, and Roger wasn't even fazed. He took me to the best blonde for me So thankful and happy with the result!! I had scheduled a haircut with a salon close to my house, with a week in advance, and it was on my birthday. When I got there apparently they messed up my appointment and there was no one to cut my hair. So I called a couple of places within the area, and I got lucky enough that Studio 27 could see me right away. I got there within 10 minutes of calling and was immediately greeted by my stylist Jessica R. They have sanitizer at the door and require masks. I also noticed they have at least one air purifier. We talked for a few minutes about what I needed and then we went on with my appointment. Everyone was busy, at least there were other 3 stylist with clients, so I was so grateful they could see me right away. My haircut was perfect and she also suggested some products, but wasn't pushy like other places. I scheduled a later visit for color right there because I really appreciated their effort to deliver good service and quality, as well as keeping everyone safe. read more

Roger is amazing! He did an awesome job with my hair and I've gotten so many compliments since getting it done. I went from a black to grey/mushroom balayage. Also got a small trim and some layers added in. The other places I contacted said it would need to be lightened in a few sessions but he was able to do it all in one session without damaging my hair. I can't say enough about this salon. I had been looking for a stylist that could see beyond all the typical hairdos that young 20-year-olds want. Being in my late 40s, and being a larger woman, I wanted someone who could really take the time to know my hair, my styling preferences, and balance my hair with my age and my body. And basically I wanted to style that made me look a little more fresh and uplifted. Alabama, one of the stylists, was so welcoming and helpful on the phone and when I first arrived. The studio is clean and plays a great blend of different styles of music. It's upbeat without being overboard. Roger really took the time to know me and my hair. More than anyone Who has styled my hair in the past. He made me feel comfortable. And with what information he shared, I quickly gained confidence in him and his capabilities. To boot... He is a great conversationalist on a variety of topics. I'm over the moon happy with how my hair turned out. I feel like I am 10 years younger and have some sass with my new hairdo. This place was fantastic!! My husband went in to get his hair dyed and had Hector as his stylist, who did a phenomenal job! Studio 27 is super chic! You walk into a large, open space that's very clean and welcoming!! We were greeted by a friendly employee and felt right at ease. It's beautifully decorated (fall decor everywhere), perfect for the season!! Hector was extremely friendly, and made us feel very comfortable with the entire process! He was also so gracious and let me walk all around him snapping tons of pics of my husband as he was working on my husband's hair...thank you, Hector, for putting up with me!!
