Had another awesome experience with PMC today! PJ, N'Gadi, and Micheal were so great. A few years ago PMC helped my husband, toddler and I move from the Back Bay to a hundred year old 4 story home in Newton- they were so creative and skilled in safely getting large pieces of furniture into the home. This was in the middle of Covid and they were professional, kind, and efficient and it was a seamless move so I called them immediately when we decided to move again. This month's move was a two part move from our Newton home to a storage facility in Waltham, then on to Brooklyn. PJ and his team handled both parts of the move and it was so smooth and easy on my end. I didn't do a good job of communicating that I needed help packing as well as moving, but they quickly got an extra person and supplies over and got the job done. Jenn, the owner, was behind the scenes making sure everything worked. I couldn't meet the guys at the storage facility for the unload bc I had to go home with the baby and they even sent me a time lapse video of the unload (unprompted) so I could see that everything went well. Todays move into our Brooklyn apartment was a breeze despite a few hiccups on my end- I had booked a Saturday move and found out this week that my new building didn't allow weekend move ins and had strict move in hours. Jenn worked with me to change the move date the week of, PJ loaded the truck last night after another move so that they could get to Brooklyn by 11am today. The guys worked hard and abided by wearing a mask. None of my items were damaged. Move was scheduled to start at 11. They had to use the bathroom upon arrival and didn't get up to my place until 11:15. Not a problem, but the clock started at 10 (I'm in Brookline). On the flip side, the move concluded at 5:03 and they finished charging at 5:30. Would suggest that folks understand how the timing works as I was not expecting a 1hr 45 min of time charges outside of the move (I expected some given there is travel time). I would give these guys ten stars if I could. I had Mike, Mike, Dan and Jimmy help me move from the South Shore closer to the city. They showed up on time and were beyond efficient. I couldn't believe how fast they got everything out of my apartment, which included taking my bed and dresser apart. They were all very sweet and personable guys and were so patient when I had to wrangle my cats into their carriers. On the other end of the move they put my bed and dresser back together and made sure all of the furniture ended up where I wanted it. They are masters at squeezing large pieces of furniture into tight spaces while doing zero damage. I was amazed at how thorough, careful, and detail-oriented they were. They wrapped all my furniture, even the cheap Ikea pieces. They even asked me to double check before they left, in case I changed my mind and wanted things rearranged. I had become accustomed to having my things damaged in moves because they always have been in the past. This time was absolutely perfect. A good experience with this moving company... We used them for two moves, one out of our apartment then nine months of storage and then back into our new apartment. The Good 1) The Movers are great, fast and efficient, and friendly. 2) The owner is honest... we had more boxes than we anticipated in our original quote so when we received our first month storage bill we were worried at the cost ($240)...they managed to arrange things more efficiently and the resulting storage bill for the future months was $165.00. We could have been stuck paying the $240 with no other option (since we were out of the area) but the fact that they listened to us and tried to do something since we're on a budget was something we appreciated. The Bad 1) Our two year old's kitchen set was really damaged since they stacked something really heavy on it so the whole wall is bowed and her little fridge and microwave don't close... Between our storage company and two moves, we spent close to $2000 with this company... We would willingly use them again with the good experience. read more

Excellent experience with Precision Moving today during my move from a Brighton apartment to my new house in Medford. It turns out they moved the previous family OUT of my house in Medford just a week ago! The team was very punctual and no-nonsense in getting all of my belongings moved out and in. They came in to both places to look around first and get an idea of what they needed to do and where things needed to go. Everything was done in less than 3 hours! They were very careful with moving my furniture and navigating tight hallways and stairs. The only casualty was a ceramic candle when one of the flimsier plastic boxes took a tumble down a set of stairs, and the mover was very apologetic about it. He took my grievances seriously, expressed his regrets that the team that moved me was not up to par and advised that they are no longer employees. I completely understand that the pandemic made finding good employees difficult. I really appreciated the call and at least the adjustment covers the additional costs that I had to finish the move. My wife and I recently hired Precision Movers to move us out of our top floor apartment in Somerville into our new house in the suburbs. We were extremely pleased with our experience. The whole process was extremely easy and efficient for us, starting with booking the move. On the day of, they arrived on time. First was a consultation of what was going/staying, then it was right into action. They cleared out the apartment in just about two hours, and came back in to double check that they had gotten everything. Then it was right off to the new house. Wow! These guys were AMAZING! We hired them to move my mom's packed apartment at Broadway Court and deliver to several locations. Professional, efficient, polite, fast, hardworking to the max! Entry to the new house is through basement, so most of the furniture and boxes required going up a spiral staircase to the living level. no complaints and all delievered fine. These guys are incredibly fast and extremely careful. We hired three guys from Precision to move our belongings from a rental truck to our sixth floor apartment. Our elevator has been out of service, so we knew we would need the help. After two or three exhausting trips on our own, we decided to hunker down and wait for the movers to arrive. They were scheduled to arrive between 12p and 3p, but they arrived at 11:45a and started immediately. I could not believe how fast they worked, and they did not take a break until the job was finished. We had several heavy pieces and boxes, but they moved them up all 102 stairs with ease. Not a single piece was damaged or even scratched. Even our cheap IKEA furniture made it all the way up issue-free. They were done with our entire move in two and a half hours; it would have taken us days. I cannot speak highly enough of the work they did, and there is no question in my mind that I will hire them again when we move out of our current apartment. If you're on the fence about hiring these guys, you should absolutely do it. You will not be sorry. read more

These guys ARE as good as the reviews say the are! My girlfriend and I used them yesterday. It was a bit complicated because we were going from two apartments to one. All three places were on the 2nd and 3rd floors, so a lot of stairs. At first I was dubious about their 5-star rating, a little too good to be true, especially when their quote came in at 1/3 of what one of the bigger companies quoted (you see their trucks everywhere). Then the crew leader called me to say that they were finished early and to see if it was okay if they came by early. The whole job was done in 3 hrs. They showed up 9am on the dot and got my one bedroom full apartment move done in 1.5 hours--despite drama in the beginning with a car parked in my reserved 40 foot space in Cambridge. These guys were kind enough to park the car across the street, so I didn't have to call the tow truck on that car. Moving is not a fun thing and these guys made it fun with their awesome personalities. This review back to four stars reflect management reaching out to me and trying to work things out. I received a one hour refund. Even though the move was not as I expected, the professionalism of how this company treats customers is very good. Maybe that day was an off day for them. I would not recommend precision moving company based on the recent experience I had. While the overall move did go semi smoothly the attitude that you will get leaves little to be desired. Move was one building away 4 min by drive...elevator service in both locations and quoted for 3 hours but took 4.5 hours at 150/hour. Bill came out to 800 including 60 for tips. Here's what I didn't like 1) constant complaining about 5-10 smaller size bags and reminder that I should have packed it in a box, and that other companies would have refused to take it. Funny this was never a problem with other companies I used and at more than 700 for the move. 2) movers were not as efficient as some of the other companies I've seen. Only one person in the house moving and boxing. I was helping him unload many things or they would have taken even longer. I feel the quote for three hours was reasonable but taking close to 5 for a 4 minutes drive move indicated at the very best inefficiency or incompetence 3) not careful at all with my belongings I would hear and see loud banging of my boxes. Some are glass and I am unsure if some of my belongings will be damaged. 4) constant whining and secret complaining about moving a bookcase to the trash instead of my own apartment 5) Overall defensiveness and unprofessionalism, except for the driver which apologized after I raised these issues after the mov I have moved 3 times in the last four years and this is by far the worst experience. I thought paying a premium would get me better service but this was clearly not this case. I still tipped 60 bucks but really they didn't deserve any after that level of horrendous service. I will not be using this company in the future. read more

I've used Precision Movers twice now, they were great both times. This most recent time was at the end of December. It was a complicated move in terms of logistics, as we were moving from two separate 1 BR apartments to a single 2 BR apartment during COVID. Two of the three apartments were 2nd-floor. They showed up on time, masked properly the whole time, moved efficiently, were extremely friendly, and finished quicker than their estimated 6 hour time. We ended up paying less than we expected to. Precision Moving Co. helped me move from Cambridge to Somerville last month. The good: the movers worked quickly, didn't damage anything, and were able to take apart and reassemble my bed. The bad: Only one of the three movers (Ngadi) consistently wore a mask throughout. The leader of the team wore his only around his mouth, and when asked to wear it properly, simply took it off altogether as soon as I wasn't looking. I understand that masking is uncomfortable while lifting heavy stuff indoors, but that's also precisely when it is most important! As others here have noted, it's unprofessional and unsafe to work unmasked right now, and this company appears to be repeatedly flouting those rules. Edit: Shortly after this review, PMC's director of operations, Mike Berberick, reached out with an apology and offered a partial refund of the moving cost. Further, he assures me that they have now purchased a supply of disposable masks for their movers and will strictly instruct all movers to always wear them. I am impressed with PMC's attention and responsiveness and am adding an extra star trusting that they'll keep their promise and keep future customers safe. And if you contract with them and still get no-mask movers, ask for money back. read more

We used Precision Moving Company this past March to help us move from Everett to Melrose, and we couldn't have been happier with their service. This was the first time using movers, so we were slightly nervous about what to expect. I reached out for a quote through Yelp and Jennifer responded within 24 hours. I reserved our date over the phone the following day, was provided an estimated arrival window and was advised on how to prepare. I can't remember who I spoke with on the phone, but he was so helpful even when I asked a really ridiculous question about a fish tank. On moving day, our movers (Ryan, Istan (I think I spelled that right) and DJ) showed up almost right at the earliest projected arrival time and began work quickly and efficiently. They even were really nice about our dog who was a little growly that day, which I thought was sweet. Our move was done in less than 5 1/2 hours, even though it was freezing and snowing. I don't usually leave reviews but I felt incredibly disappointed by these movers and particularly after reading all these great reviews. I did appreciate that the movers came on time and were wearing masks. However one of the movers immediately told us that he would not be wearing his mask while moving our things (including in our apartments) because it was too difficult to breathe, which made us very uncomfortable. In addition, the movers didn't wrap our furniture while carrying them to the truck or from the truck to the apartment which left severe scratches on all of our furniture (the edges looked like the furniture was dragged along the ground). We also had 1 piece of furniture that needed to be taken apart and they refused to do it so we had to rush and take it apart before they left. The whole experience was extremely violating from the safety issues to the damaged furniture. We are ready to move a second time (finally bought a house!) and we will not be returning our business to them. read more
