Jerome is a really nice guy. I had contacted him to see if I could get some free wood chips as I heard arborists might offer this. Jerome was not only happy to do that but he tried to bring me an appropriate amount and wanted to give me higher quality chips. Wow! I am not sure a review is adequate enough for how Evergreen saved the day! I have a plot of land with a hill above my backyard and tons of Eucalyptus trees. I was concerned about overgrowth, potential fire hazards and even trees falling onto my house. I met with Jerome and he kindly walked me step by step through what most would consider a BIG job. In regard to cost, we addressed safety first and then waited to see if we could actually afford something a little fun using the wood in the same area. This was a multi-day job over 6 different days. Jerome came out to tackle a very VERY large problem for us: a sequoia dying from the top down. I am so impressed by his love for and expertise with trees. He had never seen anything like this, and did a lot of research before coming to top our tree. He went above and beyond, expertly revived the entire tree which had previously looked like a dying mess, dropped every piece of the tree carefully, and without damaging so much as a flower, and cleaned up so well that when my husband came home he wondered if any serious tree trimming had actually happened. Exceeded expectations! Jerome and crew were prompt, very fairly priced and friendly. Good people and great work - impressive to see them scale the huge trees. They trimmed an entire row of Eucalyptus trees (over 20 trunks) that were impeding a view. Our view is now amazing! This was done very quickly and most importantly done right. Jerome and his team at Evergreen Tree Service took down a huge dead 80ft pine tree that was less than 3 feet from my house and less than 20 feet from my neighbors house. There were many huge branches hanging over both roofs. This tree was a monster - both tall and massive. After watching them take this colossal pine tree down I think they could handle any job. Jerome started work the business day after I got my emergency permit from the city. Watching Jerome and his team take this tree down was amazing. They are pros. Wish I could show a before and after - our lovely old Cypress has been lovingly cared for and artistically shaped. Jerome quoted a VERY reasonable price and 3 expert tree guys worked all day long. They removed all the bad/past cuts and dangerous limbs, they shaped the tree BEAUTIFULLY and left everything in perfect order. What we did not expect is the light we now have. No longer the dark entrance, but a beautiful welcome to our home. They cleaned up so well and were so respectful that I would have them here every year - except that I think they did SUCH a good job that I won't have to attend to our dear tree for many years to come. Use caution with this guy, he has an anger issue. He'll quote you a price and regardless if the job is finished or not he'll charge you the full price. If you disagree he'll crack and now you have an angry unpredictable person that you've invited onto your property so there's not a lot you can do. Problem with this type of service is they know where you live and every aspect of your property so you're not really sure what they'll do if they feel like retaliating. read more

My husband and I got several quotes to remove some eucalyptus trees in our yard blocking our ocean view. Several tree services wanted to clear cut and just leave the trees there with no clean up. After explaining to them we did not want clear cut because it looks awful (a few of our neighbors had clear cut and now it is all over grown and a mess...not to mention ugly and a fire hazard) they still wanted to clear cut. They wouldn't listen to what we wanted or could not see our vision. Then we met Jerome. He took his time examining the situation (not an easy one, huge hill) and wanted to do it the right way (to get permission from the city first) which we were all for. And he listened to what we wanted and added some ideas himself. Jerome has an amazing eye and knew exactly what trees to remove to give us our beautiful view. Really nice and helpful guy. We had a cat stuck waaaay in a massive tree for 3 days, and he came and helped get her down. If anyone ever has this problem- the thing we learned is that you want to use an easy closing bag such as a drawstring laundry bag (best) or pillow case (works too). nothing the cat can fight inside, and nothing you need to zip up or close- they need to hang deep inside, like in a hammock. Anyway, you are probably reading this for his tree work- I'm sure he's great. He was very helpful and scaled that tree like nobody's business.
