But my last exerience was one that I cannot help but be infuratied by. I had an issue where my 2012 Highlander AC went out in July and it was $2700.00 to fix. So I agreed and they did the work. When I took the car in the heater worked fine and prior to the AC going out the temperature control worked without any issues. They "fixed" the AC and it blew ice cold which was great for July. I noticed immediately that you couldn't regulate the temperature at all but life was busy and in hindsight I should have turned right around and took it back in. Fast forward two months when I had a blowout, I took it back in and alerted them to the issue's (no temp control and heater is out). They mulled it over and said it was a completely different issue and wanted another $2700. If they had test run the system after "fixing" the AC, they would have noticed something was off. Or maybe they did and just pushed it out anyways? They claim to warrenty their work but that didn't hold up here either. No attempt whatsoever to meet me in the middle. Nothing except a "sorry, completely different issue so another $2700.00". Not a good look Rob'e Man's.

Sunday: The next day I was told that a technician had not come in and nothing would happen until Monday. I was told two master techs and the manager would be in. I calmly shared my disappointment at the inefficiency and misdirection I had experienced from Pep Boys. I considered towing my vehicle elsewhere, but it being Sunday decided to give it one more day. Monday: They worked on my vehicle, but had to wait for the part, so it wasn't ready. Tuesday: I got a call at 9:28 a.m. that my vehicle was ready, fully two days later than promised. As soon as I arrived, they quickly checked the electrical system. Bobby even offered me a ride to a nearby restaurant so I could grab lunch while they diagnosed the issue--such a thoughtful gesture! Before I'd even finished eating, I received a message letting me know the car was running smoothly again. They also explained what to watch for and what to do if the light reappeared. I was quoted and paid $9,897 in cash under the clear impression that this covered the full job. When I picked up my car, it still had scratches and an entire unfinished patch on the roof. When I brought this up, I was told those areas "were not included in the estimate." This explanation is unacceptable. For nearly $10,000, no customer should walk away with visible, unaddressed damage--especially when I was upfront about wanting the complete body work done. I appreciated that info as who wants to spend any more money on car maintenance than we have to? I scheduled my work for Saturday morning at 10. When I arrived to check in promptly at 10, the lobby was already full of people waiting for their vehicles maintenance. There is a tv and several chairs to sit out the wait. However, unlike many other car maintenance shops, the waiting area is not separate from the main lobby. That being said, those waiting can hear all your business, including your phone number when they verify that. I was leaving my vehicle and coming back once the work was complete. (I highly recommend this) I was only getting two new tires replaced and they do an alignment check while they're at it. I returned to the shop at 11:40 (I had not been called but figured they couldn't be too much longer) and they had JUST put my car on the lift. It was 1:00 before I was out of there. There were lots of others waiting on their vehicles for extended periods of time. At one point, we only saw one gentleman working in the shop, going from car to car. (May have been lunchtime for the others, given the time) Andrew is the gentleman that helped us check in and out the day of the work. When I suggested putting the new tires on the front and rotating the ones currently on the front to the back, he educated me on why I may want to have the new ones on the back. He did it in a way that was respectful and I appreciated that. He was friendly and pleasant. He didn't pressure me to do the alignment once I declined which, again, I appreciated. I paid $480 for two of their "better" tires, with installation. Overall, it was a decent experience. I would definitely recommend working on more staffing and/or coordinating the appointments better so that the appointments mean something. Waiting for three hours for two tires is a bit frustrating.
