I dropped my car off at 11am for a standard oil change and a daylight bulb replacement. By 2pm, I hadn't heard anything, so I called to check in. I was told, "we're just about to get to yours, it's next -- should be about an hour" and that they were backed up from the day before. I understood and waited patiently. At 3:30pm, I called again and was told, "about 40 more minutes -- we'll call you in 20 minutes to update you on the bulb, then we'll do the oil change." By 4:30pm, still no update. I went in person and found my car sitting with the hood up -- untouched, with no one even near it. When I asked the desk about it, I was told, "we're about to start on it, can you give us 40 minutes?" In shock, I asked if they had even started yet. He shook his head no. So not only was my car untouched after nearly six hours, but I was also misled multiple times on the phone into believing they were starting or already working on it. I asked for my keys back and left. And, just like another recent reviewer mentioned -- there was no apology whatsoever. Do NOT go here if you expect timely service. I understand shops can get backed up, but being strung along for six hours for something as basic as an oil change and bulb replacement is completely unacceptable. read more

After my regular scheduled oil change/tire rotation, I proceeded to drive 3 hours down to the beach. After experiencing a loud rattling noise, I proceeded to find a mechanic shop before getting back on the highway. After $300 later, come to find out, PAT never attached my front driver side tire!! My tire was never attached AT ALL! All 3 tires were completely loose. I was told, if I were to get on the highway going 70/80 mph, I could have seriously been injured or killed. Fast foward to my last tire rotation, my tires were never properly secured AGAIN!!! I caution everyone to please avoid using PAT for your safety and the safety of others on the road. When I took my car in they tried several things to just charge me more money. I brought in the source of the problem from O'reilly Auto parts which was a Intake Manifold. They could have replaced that first which was the problem but they did 2 procedures first to run up the tab. They charged me over $500 more than they should have. Don't go there. read more

This place is a joke and shouldn't be trusted! Please stay far away from this place. The manager, Phil Carter, does nothing to solve the problem or the issue. The sticker on my car showed that I had 1000 more miles to drive before getting another oil change. I've been going to this place for years fully trusting these people to do a good job. When I told the manager mentioned above about the issue, he replied that my husband should be checking the oil level at every 1 thousand miles. How about single women or people who don't know how to check the oil level??? You pay money assuming that the job is well done and trusting the dumb sticker on the windshield. My car had a quarter of oil left that could've caused thousands of dollars in repairs. The manager NEVER admitted their mistake that the oil wasn't changed at the last appointment saying that my car was burning way too much oil internally. Really? The car was burning 5 quarters of oil before the next oil change??? There were no leaks. I took the car to the mechanic and he told me that the oil was extremely dark which means it hasn't been changed and so was the filter. Please, please do NOT go to this place!!!! read more

Trust on the bad reviews here. The bad experience is really accurate. So, I called this center for a bad rear main engine seal which was leaking oil, so talked to the technicians at the center that guaranteed me that wasn't the problem and the problem was the oil filter housing (which was replaced a year ago) so, they convinced me to replace the oil filter housing with an upgraded "doorman metal housing) which later they didn't the do it putting the same type that was there originally and that wasn't even the problem.. they quoted me 600 dollars then 1400 and then went down to 1100. However, not solving the main issue that I called them. Brought back the vehicle leaking oil and then was told was indeed the main seal that I originally called about. 1100 dollars later I still having the issue, they replaced a perfectly fine part and now they refused to do anything about it.. I had my van towed to Precision Tune on a Thursday afternoon. I spoke with them as the van was on the way, and they said they would look at it and get back to me as soon as they knew something. I called them just before close of business on Friday to get an update, and they told me they had not had a chance to look at it because they were about 24 hours behind. They called me at 8:58 Saturday morning and left me a message. I called back at 10:05 when I saw they had called, and I was told they needed to do a diagnostic (which I approved) and they would get back to me after that. I called right before close of business (5:00) and was told they couldn't get to the diagnostic because they had to take the van out after I didn't call back for a while. I understand them pulling the van out when I didn't answer right away, but to not get it back in within 7 hours of me calling back?! Why was I not the first car in line after I called back? They were closed Sunday, so I went by Monday morning in person. I spoke to the man at the front desk, and he said when I didn't call back for a while on Saturday they had to pull the van out. I told him I called back about an hour after they called, to which he told me, "I don't think it was that short after." See exact times above. When I pulled out my phone to show what time I called, he told me he wasn't trying to argue. Except, that's exactly what he was doing...arguing that I (the customer) didn't know when I called. What?! To me, that's terrible customer service. A simple, "Sorry about that, sir." would have gone a long way. I eventually asked them to keep the key at the front desk and I had the same tow company come back to pick up the van and take it elsewhere. I have been coming here for a few years and have not had issues like this before. The guys have been great. My daughters starter died last month so we had her car towed to our local Precision Tune. I initially spoke with Jacob and unfortunately received some of the rudest customer service I've ever received. I immediately asked to talk with someone else and I spoke with Phil. So glad I did! Phil was absolutely outstanding from beginning to end. He was not only kind, he kept me in the loop every step of the way. Oh I brought my car here on Wednesday I was told that I was going to have my car back the same day come to find out they say the technician so called had a family emergency which means they did not get to my car in time which means I have to wait a whole Nother day for my car. I was a bit afraid after I read all of the not-so-great reviews of this location but was in desparado mode to get an oil change when I was due to go on a trip and it was long overdue for one. Our normal oil changing station was closed so we opted for PT. I found a coupon online so all was well! We were able to drop the car off and come back later, which I think helped our cause since long waits seem to be the main complaint. They called us about 3 hours later telling us it was completed so we had no complaints since we were out running errands. They seemed to have gotten the job done. They are a little pricey for oil changes so if you are going, get a coupon. I just googled it and found one online so it was about the same as what I normally pay. read more

I am currently dealing with a huge problem with this store. They quoted me a price and when I went to pick my car up tonight the price had nearly doubled to 1,204.00. I was told on the phone on Monday by an employee, Danny, that the price was going to be $680.00. (The original quote was $386.00 but there was something more extensive wrong which is why he called me on Monday with the new price.) The assistant manager, Jacob, refused to honor the price I was quoted & is refusing to give me my vehicle. I offered to pay the $680.00 quoted price but I was never quoted $1200.00. Jacob was great about working with me to get the larger service repaired, but when I got home I found out things didn't go 100% perfect. After writing my last review on 6/19/2018, I've been informed that Precision Auto Tune refuses to reimburse me after I paid for an oil and filter change, and got home to find out that the oil tank of my car was empty. So needless to say, not only did they drop the ball by not putting all in my car; to add insult to injury, they refuse to give me a refund for non-delivery of services. I am presently fighting to get a refund. According to them, I have to go back to them so they can see it with their own eyes; basically calling me a liar. Who wants to go back to a place like that? Basically, they took my money, and now I have to take my car to another merchant to have it done and pay again. I've never encountered a business like this. Stopped by here because my car was overdue for an oil change. I thought it would be quick but I was wrong. I parked outside and had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to come help me. The prices were pretty good so I picked the highest service of oil change because I figured I would get my tires rotated too while I was there. It took another 15 minutes for my car to get serviced. Then it took 45 minutes for the mechanic to be finished. When the front desk person called me over he had a list of things for me to look at that they "suggested" that I get done. When I told the guy that I was supposed to be somewhere 10 minutes ago, the guy said that I looked unhappy and offered me a free oil change for the next time and said that it had only taken 45 minutes. Not really. More like over an hour. On top of that, the mechanic had failed to give me my wheel lock so I had to go back in. It does look nice and it has free wi-fi and tv for the kids. You'll probably need it if you take your car there. It's not quick service. read more

I love this location. I have been to other PT in the Raleigh area and this is the best by far. While they are not a quick lube, which some people apparently expected during their visits, they are very thoughtful, friendly, at a great price with thorough and respectful techs. Shannon, and the rest of the team have always made me feel that not only I have made the right choice of car care, but also I have never felt like they are taking advantage of me as a female. Left car for a day for oil change and brake inspection. They never called me! Next morning they made an excuse that a tech left the work order on his toolbox and did not give it to the master tech to complete service. Their attitude appeared that this was an acceptable practice for the industry. Who doesn't check where all their cars and work orders are at the end of the day? Finished job by noon next day. However, claimed everything including tire pressure checked but oil life meter on car was not reset and tire pressure on all 4 tires varied 5 psi! 1/5/15: Very nice, trustworthy, diligent, and fair. Went there on a referral with a difficult to diagnose issue. Their patience, customer commitment, and determination to find the problem were quite impressive, with them having both of their most senior techs spend time with it, and the counter guy (who's also very well trained) as well.
