My most recent visit was specifically for their complimentary tire maintenance checks, and the team handled it flawlessly. I stopped by for a quick, free air check and had them examine my tire tread wear right before heading out on some major road-trip excursions. The entire process was incredibly efficient. The technician was fast and polite and made sure all four tires were perfectly inflated and performing exactly as they should for highway driving. The free air check is incredibly easy to navigate. You simply drive onto the property, follow the clear directional signage to the designated area, and wait. Someone will come out to assist you shortly. You do not even need to get out of your vehicle to get your air topped off. At my last tire rotation, I am glad to note that this rotation went better than my prior experience. The service bay crew was highly organized, working with the exact type of speed and precision that originally made me a loyal customer. I had an appointment at the Wake Forest store today at 1:15 p.m., checking in at 1:05 p.m. The technician informed me the service would take 45 minutes to one hour, and I was given a completion time of 2:11 p.m. The showroom was closed for repairs and Discount Tire had placed chairs under a tent for customers to wait in 95-degree weather, with no fans or water provided. At 2:11 p.m., my GMC Sierra had not yet been moved into a service bay. I informed the manager of the situation, but he stated I was in line and needed to wait. By this time, I was feeling ill from the heat and developing a headache from sitting outside. I told the manager I could not wait any longer, retrieved my keys, and left. Went in for 4 brand new tires magically came out with a tpms sensor that they say the battery is dead on. How convenient that it wasn't dead last week , this week or the second before they got the car. 2/10 won't recommend. They say the sensor wasn't pressurized while changing the tire. Sounds like something a TIRE SHOP should know and avoid doing, so yes, I guess it wasn't "pressurized" because they had the tire off and caused it. Learn from my mistake, go elsewhere. Update: They contacted me and offered to replace the sensor, and told me to give it a few miles for the sensors to catch up, and to come in if it hadn't. At this time the tire in question is lower psi than the others, which may not be a problem--more of a note to self, so I'll give it a few more miles to see if it catches up with the others or perhaps have them add more air if needed. So I'll change my review to 3.5 stars, mostly because I've been using out of state Discount Tires for years with multiple vehicles, and have never had a problem, so I wouldn't want this one review to reflect my past experiences. read more

While the Front Desk staff was very nice and helpful, they were so slow and did not touch my vehicle for over an hour. I booked an appointment online, arrived 30 minutes early and they did not bring my car into the shop for until after 1pm. what is even the point of having appointments if you do not follow them? Discount Tire is a solid choice when it comes to getting new tires or assessing issues related to the tires. Recently, we had to buy 3 out of the 4 tires (we replaced one in October). We had gone to Discount Tire previously and were told that our tires were fine and it was just a balance issue. Things were fine for a couple of days until it wasn't and we had to go back. The lady who helped me was shocked when I told her about our previous visit a few weeks prior because the tires were not fine at all and needed to be replaced. She gave us a discount and the tires were replaced within the hour (I didn't even have an appointment). That same day, I had to take a trip up to Charlotte and the car was back to normal! She was correct on needing new tires and I'm so thankful that we weren't being upsold but also that our safety mattered. I cannot tell you enough how great Discount Tire is with their customer service and fixing the mistake of one employee (never had any issues before). Over 4 hours! That was how long I waited from the time this Discount Tire location checked me in to the time they finally brought my car went in to replace a full set of tires. It is by far the longest wait time I have ever experienced in my 20-year history as a customer of this business. Before that, the longest wait time I ever had at Discount Tire was almost two hours. My vehicle inspection was two months away, necessitating the replacement of tires. When I arrived at Discount Tire, there was a 5-minute wait line before a staff member checked in my car at 1:38pm. Since I wasn't planning to keep the car for more than 12 months, I opted for the cheapest set available. Then he accompanied me to the car to record mileage and conditions of tires. After I handed over the car key to him, all the seats in the waiting area were taken. I waited for at least one minute for a customer to leave, and took the newly vacant seat. As I waited, I saw numerous cars showed up afterwards but were brought in before mine. The hours went by. Mine was still parked outside waiting to be serviced. From time to time, the staff left the Customer Service List screen open. I'm guessing "C-F1" to "C-F4" refer to the space number in the bay areas where the technicians worked. I periodically took photos of it. Waiting was a drag, so I went outside periodically. What I saw was disappointing. This Discount Tire shop has three large bays. The bay closest to the office was serving only one car at a time; the middle bay was serving two cars half the time, and one car half the other time; the third bay wasn't used at all during the entire time that I was there. Imagine how much the wait time could have been shortened had the third bay been utilized for service even at one car at a time. There were enough technicians to make it work. Instead, the staff chose to operate at 2.5 out of 4 capacity. From time to time, customers were standing around because there were no seats available. To make matters worse, there were no refreshments other than the water dispensers by the restrooms. Speaking of restrooms, there were no toilet papers in the men's. I had to use paper towels to wipe myself. Take a look at the "Average Wait Time" on the Customer Service List at 3:14pm. It shows "62.7", presumably in minutes. That number is deceptive because it was a running average of all customers that were currently waiting. It did not take into account the entire wait time of each customer from start to finish. My car wasn't serviced until 5:40pm. When work was finished, the time was 6pm. Total time: 4 hours and 22 minutes! I must mention a service feature that didn't work. After my car was checked in at 1:38pm, I received a text message telling me how to track the status of my vehicle. It included a link that opened to a web page called Journey Tracker supposedly to monitor the status of the service. Despite periodically refreshing the page numerous times throughout the 4.5-hour wait, it kept saying, "OOPS! Something went wrong. Try refreshing the page in a few moments." At 6pm, I received a text message telling me that my vehicle was ready. You'd think that Journey Tracker would be updated as well. Nope. It still showed "OOPS! Something went wrong. Try refreshing the page in a few moments." Notice that the 6pm text mentioned that Discount Tire's closing time at 6pm on Mondays through Fridays. I wonder how long the remaining customers had to wait for their cars to be ready. Given what I had seen, probably till 7pm or later. I'd give this Discount Tire shop a 1.5 star because the work was satisfactory, though they should offer some kind of discounts or concessions for the long wait. First, let me say that overall, I do love Discount Tire. This review is just related to this experience. Over the years, they have been fantastic! For all my cars, I buy my tires from them. I took one of those cars in to get the free rotation and balance. They were PACKED! I didn't have an appointment so they asked me to come in tomorrow to have the service. I got there the next morning and was second in line. 27 degrees outside. . .COLD. The door opens and Diego greets me and asks to see my car after I explain what I need. Discount Tire has a new procedure where the front desk team looks at your tires before they send it back to get it serviced. Diego let's me know that my tires are in the "yellow" zone and I should get new tires. Ok, maybe. They have 30k of wear on them but I explain to Diego that I am not in the market for new tires at the moment and just need the rotation and balance. Diego states that they cannot do that as my tires are in the "yellow zone" and this could be unsafe for them. He then goes on to state that maybe I should drive around on them for awhile and come back and they would be better. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?!? I try to reason with him. If my tires are unsafe, why are you telling me to drive around on them and come back!?!? My car just recently passed the NC State Inspection and wouldn't they have caught this then!?!?!? Diego was not budging and stated there was nothing that could be done unless I bought new tires and told me to "Have a nice day!". I left. I drove home. I was pissed. I decided to call the store and ask for a manager. Yes, I should have done this while I was still there but was so perplexed in terms of what I was hearing and seeing from Diego. Over the years, I was used to employees from Discount Tire working with me, explaining the situation and trying to find alternatives. . .not just issuing ultimatums. When I called the store to explain what happened, I got the assistant manager, Pete. Pete listened and asked if he could look at the tires himself. He stated that if the tires were truly in the "yellow zone", they can be serviced. Long story short, I brought my car back in, the tires are in the yellow and getting serviced. However, Pete also explained to me that my tires have 10k worth of "credit" towards new tires if and when I choose to get them based on the warranty. Should they fall into the "red zone", I can't take advantage of the "credit". WOW. Super informative. I did not know this! So, I will end up buying new tires. Not today as I am going on a road trip and in a time crunch, but when I get back. And, I will end up buying the new tires from Pete who did a "consultative sale" vs the pressure approach of Diego. Bottom line. . Discount Tire is a great company which has a training opportunity for one of its employees. read more

Set up an appt online several days ago for today at 11:30am to have my tires rotated and balanced. Arrived 10 mins early, checked in on the app, went to the service desk where Ricky stated they should have me out in 45 mins to an hour, but no guarantees since they had a lot of double-booked appointments! Next, he proceeded to show me on the chart in the store how I'm getting close to needing 2 new tires ("they're in the yellow zone", he said) and by the next time I come in I almost certainly will need 4. The car has 14k miles on it and this was obviously setting me up for the sales pitch "next time". Anyway, at 12:20pm, with the app still stating completion expected at 12:18 pm and the car still untouched, I asked Cortland for my keys back which he surrendered without a question as to why. I stopped by discount tire to see if they had a touchless tire machine on my way home one day. Mason greeted me at the desk and let me know that they did. I was hesitant to bring my car there for new tires due to my wheels being scratched previously by a competitor. Mason walked out to my car and he immediately understood that my car required a level of care, he assured me he would be able to personally change my wide tires with no scratches. Day of the appt came and he took care of my wheels perfectly. He communicated with me as soon as he saw the current scratch on my wheel. He was diligent and careful. You can tell he enjoys his job and he treats the cars he services like if they were his own. I can't express how valuable/rare that is to find in the service industry. You never go to a tire shop when you want too. The last two times I've been here were no exception. ONce was to replace an 1100 mile old tire that found a big staple in a non pluggable place, and the other was to plug another tire. 2019/2020 winter was not kind. They had the exact OEM tire I needed in stock, which was great, and it was better priced than any other location that had to order it. They got the plug on the second one done in no time. My TPMS warning was firing intermittently. Unfortunately it was not active when I showed up for my appointment, but Will suggested that I drive a while and come back when it reappeared. I did just that, and he was able to diagnose and resolve this frustrating and intermittent issue. I had a lot of questions about how to troubleshoot the issue I was seeing and how to interpret the symptoms. Will was super helpful, and patient. He made me feel that I was the purpose of his work, and not an interruption of it, as so many in the service industry will do. Completely destroyed the threading inside the hub of my BMW and blamed it on bad studs/lugs. Tried removing the wheel to see if it just needed to be adjusted but one stud was on there so tight it may as well be welded so I assume the threading was damaged due to over-torquing. Now I'm on the hook for paying to have my hub re-threaded or purchase an entire new hub. Not to mention the paint that was chipped off my wheels in the process. read more

A guy in a big truck was coming in my lane I'm beeping my horn, he still coming...Unfortunately, I ran up on the median to avoid a serious accident and busted 2 of my tires on the driver side. Car was eventually towed to Discount Tire (DT ) Wake Forest, NC location, which was a few miles up from where I was stranded. DT was putting 1 cheap tire on the front wheel and my doughnut on the back tire because the rim was damaged. The assistant manager on duty said he can see if they had a rim which I was NOT purchasing. I thought they could repair rims? I GUESS NOT, anything to get your money I guess. The clear part in this all is...although damaged, the rim wasn't even that bad just very, very slightly bent. Needless to say, the tow dropped my car off at 3:15 pm on Sat. and I was told that I would need to wait 4 HOURS!!!! ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS???? For them to put a cheap tire on one wheel and my spare on the other ???I was looking at leaving there at 7 pm. Utterly RIDICULOUS! AVOID THIS LOCATION IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! I've been going here for several years and I have several vehicles that we take to DT, but after the last two times for a rotate/balance I won't be going back for new tires. During my visit a few months ago they were supposed to rotate and balance my tires and my truck was in/out within 15 minutes so I know they didn't balance my tires, but they might have rotated? This last time in August when I had a scheduled appointment and my truck was late by 15 minutes before being pulled in the bay I had my truck back within 15 minutes again? Very quick for rotate and balance? After pulling out and driving 10 minutes and looking at my display the low air pressure on the right rear was still showing the tire pressure was low? Since it was low and I specifically asked them to look at the right rear before it was pulled in the bay is a clear indication "they never rotated/balanced my tires!! I got home and found it's the TPMS that is defective. It's disappointing and sad to know discount tire does not rotate or balance tires as they promise. read more

Hubs and I have taken our cars here for new tires for a few years now. Discount Tires have always had the best deal in tires. I am someone who obsesses over having the best deal and the right tire so I do a lot of research. Most recently, our Toyota needed 4 new tires. With that kind of expense, I researched types of tires, what is best for the amount of travel I do, and what prices are best in the triangle. Once I found the tire I wanted, I found that Discount Tire had it, and had it at the most inexpensive price, after you total everything and get the "out the door" price. Many tell you they have the best price, but once you add on labor and the disposal fee for your old tires, it is way more. I made an appointment to take the car in for the new tires on Saturday at noon. I waited for approx. 25 minutes to be seen to even give them my car. I was told I could wait and it wouldn't take very long, about an hour. I left to run some errands for an hour and when I returned again, I waited for another 25 minutes to get my car. What is the point in having an appointment? I love that DT has great deals- they include tire rotation and a warranty on the tire where you can just drive up and have any issues taken care of if needed, however, the wait time is ridiculous-especially with an appointment. I also am not that big of a fan of feeling the pressure of the upsell. Hubs squashed that pretty quickly, but still, there is nothing worse that the pushy salesperson. Overall, great deals, great tires, but long wait. Hence, the deduction of a star. read more

Enter this particular location. We have had tired patched after running over bolts, nails and even wood. They always manage to fit us in as walk ins. I've never had anyone give anything but a good attitude no matter how many people are in the lobby waiting. My husband has purchased tires from other places and had these guys put them on with no issues. I have been in on my own to have tires patched and have never been upsold on any of their services. I find everyone that works her professional and courteous and we will continue to use them for all our cars. read more

I have a 2015 Tundra that we knew was going to need tires with in the year, but found out one day that is was more dire than expected. We went to DCT and talked with Spencer and he made the decision making process very easy and was super knowledgeable about all tires. When it was go time... 24 hrs later, tires were in house and ready to start. Andrae was there to assist as well. We only had 28k on the OEM Michelin tires and when I asked if I could make a claim on them he stepped up and made it happen. Wake Forest Discount Tire team is TOP NOTCH in my book.
