I took my vehicle in for repairs on November 19, 2025. When I received a call saying my vehicle was fixed on December 1, 2025 all of my personal belongings were missing from my vehicle. Everything was taken even down to the vent clips! When I called I was told there was nothing they could do to help me. There was no damage to any windows, locks or doors. Zero stars ! Avoid this shop like the plague ! They refused to patch a tire on a Saturday (my regular excellent mechanic is closed on weekends) claiming "the small tack is too close to the sidewall" . It wasn't. It was in the tread. When i returned from a trip for which i had planned to drive this vehicle, i took it to my regular mechanic, they had me in and out in 30 minutes, patched it easily and charged me only $17.00 bucks ! My advice : avoid so-called Precision Tune on S. College Rd and go to a competent shop, for these folks it's all about the $$money and customer service is an distant afterthought. read more

I think they are great. So far after one month, my breaks have been fixed and fully functional. They were extremely kind, and also called and gave me frequent updates. On top of this, they actually called and let me know that my car would be ready early. The only downside is that they are always packed and busy but that shows how great they are! So I had been going to this place for a year or two for alignments, oil change, and tire rotation considering their coupon deals. But one day I went there to get an alignment done and the mechanic said he wouldn't do it until the front end suspension and control arms were all replaced at a whopping $1800. I said no thanks and went to get two separate opinions whom said there was absolutely nothing wrong with any of that but maybe some new ball joints needed which Was something very small. I'm not going to say this is a bad company... but watch out for those certain days they decide to up their quota if ya know what I mean. Always leave and get a second opinion even if it cost ya a service fee somewhere else. read more

The front desk lady is very rude. I came to see if I could get my car serviced. When I arrived there was no one in the front to greet anyone. There were mechanics working on cars and no one said anything for a few minutes. They just looked at me. Finally, she came out of the back and just looked at me and raised her eyebrows. I assumed that meant she was asking what service I would like so I told her. She said there was a 2.5 hour wait. I asked if I can make an appointment and she said No I don't do appointments. First come, first served. Then scolded me for pulling into the bay. Some service companies allow that but I didn't know the rules since I do not work there, there were no signs, no one to direct me where to go and no one on the inside of the building. I guess I'm supposed to read their minds. She seemed very upset and angry about something. Not sure what it was but I'll take my business somewhere else. read more

I bought the "PREMIUM" oil change package here after finding out my normal mechanic was booked up for a while. Honestly should have just waited. I don't know what all they skipped out on because they thought I wouldn't notice, but I DO know that they definitely didn't check to make sure my fluids were where they needed to be. And conveniently they don't have records of service for when they get called out on their bullshit. Hopefully no permanent damage occurred from lack of coolant that almost made my car overheat in the middle of traffic! Would give them a zero. Went to dealership and they said the brake fluid is bad and the coolant. I showed them that I got it done a year ago at precision auto. Honda stated that they didn't do a good job of it needs it again so soon. I told the clerk at the front, waited for an hour for the manager to come tell me they are not standing by the work and "yes" the services are needed again . Now why would I paid the shop to do shitty work again? They didn't do it right the first time. I'd rather pay a legitimate shop that's going to do the work appropriately! Not a bad place and the staff was very friendly. I called before I went to see if I could get an appointment for an oil change and they are walk-in only, but when I got there they got me in and out in under an hour and I can't complain with that. Now, they do have some of the best oil change prices in town and that goes for regular or synthetic but if your car needs more then 5 quarts of oil it is going to cost a bit more. I had a bad battery that got corroded to the point where I could remove the wire from the battery. I needed a new battery and a replacement of a cable. I'm no machanic and it freely admit that. To me it a simple thing remove cable and wire then replace with new. Got it done paid the bill and left. Took my car to work the next day thinking it was ok. Nope. After work i got in my car and it wouldn't start. Opened the hood and saw that they didn't change the battery. Got it jumped and went back to the shop. A hour and a half later they looked at it. Wouldn't you know they didn't replace tube battery that I paid for the day before. They changed it with an, "I have egg on my face." Then an apology. I understand that it can get busy, its been a long day or whatever. Im pretty forgiving. When you bring in a issue that has two things wrong you fox those two things. Especially when someone is paying a couple of hundred for. At that point I could have said something and may have some kind of reimbursement. When a place forgets to install a battery that has so much corrosion that you had toteplace the wire. Would you want them to change your oil, pit air in your tire or something else. Percision my ass! So last summer my truck started steaming and then wouldn't turn over after letting it cool off. I got it towed to precision auto tune. Not cheap. They proceed to tell me that I need a new engine which would cost around $8000. That my "heads were warped" and what not. So, then thinking that I needed a new engine, I paid over $500 to have it towed to SC to my uncle who is a former Nissan service foreman. After a few afternoons under the hood, I was back on the road with a new radiator and some new sensors. These guys apparently thought that I was just going to pay them whatever they asked for. According to my uncle, my engine "couldn't be in better shape". So don't trust what you're told: get a second opinion. This is my second review, my first was not "recommended", but people need to know this. read more

Took my V6 2.7L Dodge Charger in today for the $21.90 oil change. After it took over an hour (only one other customer, didn't seem very busy) the guy tells me (A.Andrews on receipt) that the car takes extra oil. I paid $30.01. The oil change includes 5 qts of oil and that is exactly what my car takes. After $4 oil charge, $5 labor total and $2.47 shop supply fee my bill was almost 50% more! I took our family's 2018 Honda Odyssey (65k miles) to Precision Tune Auto Care in Wilmington for a clunky noise coming from the front passenger side. I also requested a quote on adding roof racks. The technician diagnosed the clunking noise problem and indicated we needed new sway bars and control arms. I gave the go-ahead to order the parts, some of which were on backorder. They said the vehicle was also due for an oil change and new transmission fluid (60,000-mile service on a Honda Odyssey) which I also gave the go-ahead. Precision suggested I source the roof racks and install them elsewhere because it was not their area of expertise (which I appreciated). After the oil change and transmission fluid service were completed, I picked up our minivan and brought it to Stevenson-Hendrick Honda Wilmington to get a quote on roof racks. As they were installing the roof racks they noticed fluid leaking under the vehicle. I explained that I had just come from Precision Tune Auto Care and had the oil changed and transmission fluid done. I also explained that Precision had diagnosed the noise coming from the front passenger side as bad sway bars and control arms. The Honda service advisor suggested we put the minivan on a lift and we get a master technician to inspect where the fluid is coming from. We all went back into Honda's shop and gathered under the lift. The master tech noticed transmission fluid and engine oil dripping and a loose skid plate. He indicated that the oil filter wasn't tightened and the transmission fluid must have been pumped or sprayed outside of where it was supposed to go. More importantly, he identified the transmission fluid was incompatible fluid for the 9-speed transmission required for the Honda Odyssey. He recommended a new transmission. Precision Tune Auto Care is saying that the reason for the dripping fluid is that their machine exploded and that the transmission fluid they used is compatible. They did not respond to the loose oil filter issue. Given the enormous price tag for a new transmission which is strongly recommended by Honda, they added the correct transmission fluid and we picked up our family's minivan with new roof racks. Honda is telling us that it is only a matter of time before the transmission will seize up due to the wrong fluid having already been circulated through the system. Lastly, Honda identified the clunking noise that started this entire process as slightly worn struts and not the sway bars and control arms that Precision was saying needed replacement. To be sure, this saga is not over and I will repost as I have updates. We have a several hundred-mile road trip planned this summer so I'm hoping that this can be reconciled soon at the expense of the faulty party so my family is safe while on the road. It's not easy to find a reliable mechanic. I discovered Precision a few years ago when I was price checking around town for the cheapest oil change. Not only is it the cheapest place in town but they also offer a frequent customer deal of a free oil change with the purchase of six. The reason I keep returning to this business for other services is because the customer service is excellent. A couple of years ago I busted a hole in my oil pan by going "off roading" in my Passat. I took it to precision. The manager tried to find the part at a junkyard lot but would have had to replace more than oil pan, which was more than $500. I was a broke college student at the time and said I couldn't pay that much. They told me to give them a few days and they would come up with another option. Two days later Precision called to tell me that they found someone to patch the metal for less than $200. I went by last month for two new tires. Toni, the assistant manager looked over my truck and suggested I get four tires due to the lack of thread. He gave me a price quote on the good year factory tires, which were already on my truck and prices on two other off brand cheaper tires. I thanked him and told him my money was tight so I was going to call around and get more price quotes. He smiled and said he would see me later. If I returned he offered a $20 discount for two tires and $40 off for four. After almost a dozen calls it was clear that I would not be able to get the good year tires for a cheap price, even without the discount. I returned the following Monday and had my new tires within a hour. Wednesday I went back for the other two tires. Even though Toni was not working I still received the same discount. The wait was a lot longer than expected but it's air-conditioned and there is Wi-Fi. read more

Had to be up in Concord last week for my covid vaccine. I am not from Concord and was not familiar with the area. I was returning home when a warning sign appeared on my dash indicating low tire pressure. I pulled off at the Precision Tune not wanting to take any chances with a half hour drive ahead of me. It was the middle of the afternoon and there were several people in the waiting room. I was greeted by the manager Chris, who was very polite, friendly and professional. They checked the tire, addressed the problem and I was on my way in a decent amount of time, not having to worry about being stranded somewhere with a flat tire...what a relief!!! I went to Precision Auto Tune with a coupon for an oil change. I drive a 95 Lincoln and had just gotten the car for project purposes. After my oil change, a a day later, my car ended up constantly cutting off while I was driving. I took it to a friend of mine whom works on cars and he checked under my hood to find the issue. We were shocked to see that there was no oil in my car at all. I had to show him my receipt because he was in disbelief. Then he pointed out that on my receipt, Precision Auto Tune added " 5w/40" into my car which didn't make any since considering how old of a model my car is. Even with the low grade oil as an issue, it made absolutely no since for my car to not have any oil in it at all. It's disappointing because I've been a loyal customer for years now so to have this occur, makes me wonder how often I've been screwed by Precision. I will be warning my friends and family members. Would give 0 stars if I could. They told me after the first inspection my windows where illegal. Although they knew it would fail before the inspection they still charged me for the inspection stating "its illegal for anyone to inspect it with my tint on" and "it wouldn't pass anywhere". The comments about illegal drugs on 4/20 were appropriate as well. When I brought my vehicle back for a reinspection after removing the tint the employee was very disrespectful. He answered my concerned questions about my vehicle with sarcastic remarks and tones. I will never visit this shop again and urge against it. read more

Not impressed with these guys at all. A few years ago they took advantage of the fact that I was young and inexperienced, sending me off with a poorly put together car. I had gone in to get my evaporator fixed (which requires the removal of the dash). In the process of putting the car back together, they managed to improperly re-install the blend door (something that stayed broken until now) and short-circuit my radio. At the time, they said that that sort of thing just happens sometimes with radios, however, I recently learned from a competent mechanic that if one knows what he is doing, there's no reason why the radio should get destroyed. Back then, they said they would give me free installation on a new radio (that I would have to buy). Given that I didn't have the money to do any further work on the car, I just decided to hold off. When I went to see them after being informed that they made more than one error in the "fixing" of my car, they wouldn't own up even to the possibility that they did something wrong. Even if they had, would I feel confident that they could actually fix it? Nope. Bad service, waste of money, incompetent, and a poor excuse for a mechanic shop. read more

They will try to go with the most expensive repair option to wring money from you. This place scammed me by doing unnecessary rebuilds on my front end and didn't even do that right. My wheel nearly fell off because it wasn't put back onto my truck properly and that caused my brakes to get jammed and useless while I was driving. Luckily I didn't get into a wreck. They repaired the issue without contesting anything and said the bad mechanic had been fired, but the mechanic was corroborated by the guy behind the counter that straight out lied to me when we had asked him questions about an oil issue that popped up strangely soon after having my oil changed there. They tried to make me get a new oil pump when the engine was just low on oil. You would hope checking the oil levels would be a mechanic's first thing to check when dealing with low oil pressure readings. Do not go there. I do not trust them to even put in the right type of oil for your engine. read more

Earlier put new new tires on vehicle. Said all had roofing nails and not repairable. Later left front loosing air. Took it it. They said it had picked up another roofing nail and needed to be plugged. Tire still loosing air and going flat. Took it in 06/06/2019 morning. Said minimum 30 minute wait. No promises. Man behind the counter definitely needs traing in customer service. Rude is putting it mildly. Eventually got frustrated and asked for my key back. Nobody was manning the counter again. Asked if he could at least put some air in the tire to keep me going. Said they were all to busy. Time spent arguing, he easily could have put some in it for me. Wouldn't even let me do it myself. When down the street to BP who let me put air in for free. Someone recommended another tire shop. Found leaking valve stem. Still leaking. Then loose sensor which was not properly tightened. Still more leaks. Now a scuffed bead on the outboard side of the tire. Shop fixed everything in less than 15 minutes. To fix the bead leak, they had to pull off the tire. To add insult to injury, Precision didn't patch the tire on the inside of the tire, which would have been a better, more permanent repair than just cramming a plug in from the outside. Rude, nasty manager, or assistant manager, whoever was on duty that morning. Will never go back there again. Can not recommend it to others. Wouldn't even take 30 seconds to put some air in for me. I applied for credit and when I was approved, the Assistant Manager, held his personal cell phone up to the computer and took a picture of my new temporary card information. His excuse was that they would need the number if I wanted to use the card before my actual card arrived via mail. I had to ask him to delete it. When I called Corporate, I was promised by Ronnie that he would get with the District Manager and someone would call me back the same day. I never heard from them. I had to call twice the next day before I got an update. A District Manager visited the store, checked the managers' phones and iCloud. The managers "were spoken to". When I spoke to Customer Service at Corporate, I requested that a replacement card with a new number be issued and that request was denied. Never going back! read more

8 months Pregnant with a two year old on Fourth of July weekend and a flat tire out of no where. Showed up right before they closed. They were so kind. Came right out took my car in immediately. When I walked in to waiting room one of the guys there handed me a cold bottle of water. Which I needed badly. So generous and even asked me if i was ok too. Had my tire fixed in no time and didn't cost me much at all. I was back on the road. They were so friendly and I think these guys are genuinely nice people here at this location.
