We hired ACS Roofing in June to replace the shingles on our commercial building. The work has not…read moreyet passed inspection by the City of Roseville. We learned that a permit had not been obtained for the work. During the inspection, the inspector identified installation issues, including missing caulk, and found that the drip edge specified in our contract proposal had not been installed. ACS Roofing offered a five-year extension to the original ten-year warranty and a $500 discount for the inconvenience. The company also agreed to correct the caulking and install the drip edge. During the second visit, multiple shingles were damaged. The company returned a third time to replace those shingles and stated that the work was complete. We requested another city inspection before making any payment. At the fourth visit, attended by both the city inspector and ACS Roofing, the work again failed inspection because the shingles had not been caulked correctly and the drip edge was still missing. Despite the failed inspection, ACS Roofing continued to request payment. We were also asked to sign a document waiving warranty coverage in connection with the $500 discount, although this condition had not been part of our agreement. In addition, we were presented with an NDA. The representative sent to discuss these matters and collect payment communicated in a raised voice and used an unprofessional tone. We found this conduct inappropriate and not conducive to resolving the outstanding issues. We expect the contracted work to be completed correctly and approved by the city. As of this review, that has not occurred.

Better yet have an attorney look at the contract. I was negligent and naive and deeply regret it. Rock Solid owns you once you sign the contract and the 48 hours cancellation option passes. Fact - if you want to terminate the contract, whether they have started the job or not, you will be required to pay one third of the contract price. They will also want you to sign a non-disclosure so that you will not be able to say anything disparaging about their company. Luckily I was able to get this clause voided. How many others have been silenced. Thinking of taking legal action, you agree to pay all of their legal fees when you sign the contract. At $500.00 an hour and up, even if you win, you will lose financially. There is a list of excuses for not doing the job in a timely manner, and they are not afraid to use them. There are a multitude of excuses on the back of the contract for not doing the work and they used many of them on my job. Our contract did not show a completion date, which means they can string you out indefinitely and you have no recourse. I paid my one third termination fee and went with another contractor. Buyer Beware.

I think it's only fair to share my complete experience. My project started very well. Erik was knowledgeable, professional, and responsive throughout the sales process. He answered my questions and gave me confidence that any issues would be addressed. Unfortunately, after installation several problems developed. The flat roof around my screen door was installed in a way that prevented the door from opening properly, and an initial repair created a gap that allowed rain and bugs inside. Roofing membrane also remained exposed, permanently damaging my family's nearly 70-year-old American flag. Despite being told the property had been magnetically swept, my gardener later filled a bucket with roofing nails and debris left in my landscaping. Most frustrating of all was the lack of communication as these issues remained unresolved. UPDATE: Once owner Keith Powers became personally involved, everything changed. He personally inspected the project, sent his A-Team to correct the problems, and made sure the doorway was rebuilt properly, sealed correctly, and even returned to adjust the screen door until it fit perfectly. He also came up with a thoughtful solution for my damaged family flag by installing a flagpole and presenting me with a beautiful new American flag, preventing future damage from the roofing membrane.
