a minute ago ***Long Post Alert**** But I was CHEATED out of $2300 by Texas Recovery Suites in AUSTIN TX. I was scheduled for 360lipo w/bbl with Cherepoo at MIA in Austin on 7/24 with pre-op on 7/23. ( I gained 25 lbs in order to have this surgery) I booked with Texas Recovery Suites about a month in advance, the LUX suite ($2300) I initially booked a shared room, but later decided on the single room. When I spoke to them while upgrading, I wasadvised I would be refunded if cancelled. I flew into Austin and was picked up by the the Texas Recovery Suite driver. He picked me up from the airport and dropped me at MIA for pre-op. He took my bags with him while I went to my pre-op appointment. I was so anxious at pre-op that MIA cancelled my surgery (bc my blood pressure was too high) and told me someone would be in contact with me to reschedule. While still at MIA I booked a flight home. I contacted the Texas Recovery Suite Driver to come back and get me and take me back to the airport. Had I kept my luggage with me, I would've just called an Uber to take me to the airport bc I was soooo upset. The gentleman picked me up and while on the way to the airport, the owner was not available so I spoke to his manager Christi, who was available. She assured I could get rescheduled if not then get a refund. (Side note. When I made it home and checked my blood pressure, the MF was normal ) After a week of calling MIA to reschedule and not being able to reach anyone, or get a returned call or email(MIA is the worst at communication) I finally contacted Texas Recovery Suites via email to ask if they had any contact info for someone at MIA to get me rescheduled, otherwise I would have to ask them to go ahead and refund me. This was at 7pm , by 730pm I received an email advising Tx recovery Suites was on the line with MIA and someone would contact me soon from MIA to reschedule. MIA contacted me the next day, told me there was a $500 rescheduling fee, which I understood. Then they advised the next availability with Cherepoo was February 2021. I'm like no, I gained 25 lbs for this surgery that I do not intend on keeping until February 2021. So I ask, is there any other surgeon who can do me sooner? I was told yes for an additional $1000 to switch surgeons At this point, I'm feeling cheated, uncomfortable, frustrated, sad all at once. I decline and cancel the whole thing. I had already paid $1650 toward the surgery. So I attempt Texas Recovery Suites twice by email requesting a refund with no response. Then I finally text the person who contacted me to book initially, Christi where she advised the refund will take 7-10 days. After no refund, I email tx recovery suites again today and get a response that they would not be refunding me because I had already checked in with them so no refunds!!!! Mind you, I NEVER WENT TO THE RECOVERY HOUSE OR SIGNED ANYTHING. The nice young man simply picked me up from the airport and dropped me back off and are keeping my $2300!! I feel like I got robbed. I've worked so hard for this just to be taken. Below is the screenshot showing I was told I would get a refund. But I've disputed the charge with my bank for services not rendered. It's a damn shame to have to force you all to give me a refund. Buyer beware.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! If I could give ZERO stars i would. This place is a joke. You do not get what you pay for. Terribly run establishment. Not even sure it's legal where they are housing patients.

Hair in the tub, this was daily caregivers would just turn the water on to get the hair out. No use of cleaning supplies.

My grandmother is recovering from a fall that caused a temporary brain injury. We needed more help than I could provide and I was desperate. I found Care Renewed online and the reviews were all excellent so I called and Fritzi was in our kitchen in 2 hours to discuss care and had a caregiver for us the same evening. I finally had a good night sleep! The team that worked around the clock to take care of my grandmother was so warm, lovable and competent. I spent many hours there with them. They took care of everything in her home from laundry, cleaning, bathing to just hanging out and listening to her stories. It's nice to be comfortable with caregivers when they start out strangers and now feel like family. We had a previous experience with a home health company so I was reluctant to hire another. The former sent an aide that was sick and asleep when I stopped by. Thank you so much Ms. Fritzi for the care, attention to detail, hands on management, and the visits you made yourself to check on my grandmother. She is precious to us and you are all the best!

We reported this incident immediately to HC. Alice, the owner contacted me and asked me to pay for the medical check using our homeowners policy. Are you kidding me, this was completely inappropriate - as they inspected our property before coming out and we were not the caregivers employer. We were losing our father and we were in no way financially responsible for this incident nor could we handle this kind of issue while facing the death of our father. I would definitely not recommend this company. I have been a healthcare administrator for over 30 years - and knew the procedures for employee incidents. I called and was greeted by Robin. She asked for some basic information from me and shared which services HomeWell could provide. I gave my contact information and was quickly called back by Ashley. Ashley and I discussed my father's situation, how I lived in California, and the services I thought he'd need. Ashley was very transparent about services, pricing, availability, and obstacles we were going to navigate. I felt like she understood my needs and my father's needs, and a custom approach was being taken to the care we were going to receive. Over the few weeks, my father had several caretakers, and he enjoyed the care and conversation he received from Ericka, Hannah, Shiann, Emile, and Nicole! Thank you, Ashley, for the constant communication and daily updates. If anyone is looking for help with daily care, whether for a few hours a day or 24/7 care like my father, I wholeheartedly recommend calling Ashley and Robin to see if their services are right for you.

We made the decision to move him out urgently due to multiple failures in care, safety concerns, and misleading information provided to us prior to admission. We were referred to this facility by a hospice nurse, and during our initial conversations, Norman, nurse, assured us that my father would receive daily showers. He also stated that although they did not offer respite or trial stays, we would only be charged for the days he was there, plus a $1,500 community fee. This directly contradicted the information on their own website, which clearly advertised respite stays. The website also stated a 1:4 caregiver to resident ratio; once we questioned this, Layne, the acting owner, removed that claim from the site. During my father's six days there, the level of care was far below what was promised. The facility had only one staff member on duty responsible for cooking, baking, laundry, caregiving, and medication administration. A caregiver openly expressed feeling overwhelmed. My father received only two showers during his entire stay, both provided by the hospice nurse--not by facility staff. On June 9th, when we arrived to check on him, he was still wearing the same clothes from the previous day. My mother had to request a washcloth from Norman just to clean him up. That same evening, we discovered he had been given his medication at the wrong time (8 p.m.), which is known to cause insomnia. When my mother requested his anxiety medication, she was told it would have to wait until Norman could be reached--yet both Norman and Layne had already left for the day, as they typically do in the late afternoon. The following day, we made the decision to remove my father from the facility. When we asked Norman for his medicine while packing him up, Norman handed us another's patients' medication. Once we got home, we realized we were missing his anxiety medication( a controlled substance), we went back and the caregiver couldn't find it. We mentioned to her the incident with Norman mixing us the 2 patients medication boxes, she looked in the other patients' box and found my father's medication. This was extremely alarming and raised serious concerns about medication safety and compliance. Despite these significant failures in care, Layne has refused to refund any portion of the $7,800 my mother paid for six days. She insists that a contract was signed, while ignoring the fact that the facility did not meet the care standards they promised. It is clear that they are prioritizing sales over resident safety and well being. Layne has only been in charge for a few months, and while her father previously had a strong reputation, the current management is not operating at that standard. There is also another recent review describing a similar experience. Our Hospice nurse told us this facility had the appropriate care, she was going on previous visits when Don was in charge. Everything has changed since then. Based on what we witnessed, I strongly caution families to be aware of these issues. My father is at the end of his life, and the care he received at this facility was unacceptable and unsafe.
