They told us over the phone that they were not busy and would prioritize Devo's care, so we made the difficult decision to head over there to say goodbye. We believed she had passed on the car ride over, but when we arrived they took her to the back and Dr. Echevarria came to us and said she had a faint heartbeat. We said we wanted to hold her while she passed, and Dr. Echevarria proceeded to disappear for 15 minutes, leaving us in a room while our dog passed alone without us by her side. While this was happening, we were obviously very distressed, asking every employee we saw what was going on and where our dog was. When we finally saw Dr. Echevarria, we asked for our dog so we could hold her, she told us very rudely "we have other patients" and turned away. I cannot believe how heartless and uncompassionate these people are here. I would NEVER ever ever step foot in this place if you are in the vulnerable position of having your dog be at the end of their life. Dr. Echevarria stole our dog from us, stole that moment of being with her as she passed from us, then was rude to us on top of it. Her staff was apologizing to us for her attitude, blaming it on her having worked a long shift, but there is no excuse for what she did to us and our precious dog. She didn't even deserve to have touched my precious baby, let alone keep her from us when she needed us most. I will forever remember this doctor as being one of the most evil people I have ever encountered. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS PLACE.

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest decisions we make as owners. Our dogs were at home, comfortable, and not fearful or anxious about what was happening. I remember one of our dogs having an emergency and having to take him to the vet. He was anxious, and it was time for me to let him go. Seeing him on the cold, metal table broke my heart. I vowed that when the time came for our other dogs, I would choose Compassionate Care. I cannot express enough how incredible this service was during such a heartbreaking time. Dr. Fiona took the time to let us say our goodbyes without rushing, providing us with the space and support we needed.

Yes, this service cost significantly more than going down to the vet's office. They come to your home and over the course of one to two hours lovingly usher your pet to the next stop. Beautiful. I highly recommend you consider Dr Fiona and her service.

I bit the bullet took her to VEG ER for Pets, only to find out she had advanced congestive heart failure. I don't believe in putting animals down, so I went for surgery. The team was great, they did everything they could ultrasound, removed 2 12 once cans of fluid which was preventing her from eating. They gave me some discounts making the emergency visit more reasonable then normal. I get home with her, let her come out of the carrier by herself, then she moved over to the couch stayed there for some time, then she jumped off the couch heading to the bedroom wobbling, then i heard the most horrible scream of pain and she just fell. I went to pick her up she was limp, I shook her and she came too, called the vet then went back, while driving to the vet she was talking to me, when I arrive, they start working on her and her heart stopped. I told them DNR. They brought me into a consoling room to be with her gave me as much time as I wanted. Finally, when I was ready to leave, they offered cremation services which was very expensive, so I declined they gave me a cardboard coffin and went back home to do some research. While conducting research I found Pet Passages online. They made the process very easy, you order online, you bring your animal in then they take care of the rest. I like the fact pricing is all up front, no games, no guesses. The owner was really nice and totally understood what I was going through, he just lost his dog a few weeks ago. He pulled Josie out put her out on the table you see here attached. The waterfall feature in the room made it perfect to hold her one last time and greave. May she rest in peace.

We are so grateful to Pet Passages & Dr. McPherson for helping Wilson cross the rainbow bridge with such compassion.

My previous vet missed something critical on a GSD that cause the dog pain and the dog was reactive to touch and he labeled the dog as having a temperament issue and suggested that I put the dog down. Nope. Enter Dr Pilkington. After the issue was solved with the pain from another Houston area vet, I started bringing my dog to Dr Pilkington. Drs Brewer and Cinclair would also sometimes work with Dominic. Dominic only lived to 8. He was a high energy working GSD that had lots of drive. At about 5 we found him unresponsive in his crate after we woke up. We rushed him to the clinic and Dr Pilkington made room for him in his schedule. It took a bit to stabilize, but his blood-sugar was dangerously low. Almost fatal low. Eventually, he was stabilized and found to have Addison's disease. The team was able to extend his life for another 3 years with Dominic being in good shape on his medicine. Eventually, his condition got the better of him and he passed. His last month or two, Dr Pilkington did his best to see if an adjustment to his meds was all that was necessary. He also helped us ease his transition. I won't be bringing my animals to any other vet. This team is phenomenal. I've read some feedback about price. I don't really agree. I find the team in line with high quality care. You get what you pay for. I don't find them unreasonable at all. They are phenomenal with large breed dogs.

I was willing to drive the hour and a half to see Dr. Pilkington without hesitation. However, I was contacted by Custer McDermott Animal Hospital to inform me that they would no longer approve Chewy prescriptions, and I would have to drive an hour and a half to pick up a paper prescription and mail that into Chewy if I wanted to use Chewy. The vet clinic charges a lot more than Chewy so no I won't be giving Chewy up, I won't be driving an hour and a half for a slip of paper as the clinic email stated. The clinic has no power over where and how I spend my money. I will be giving up Custer McDermott Animal Hospital and sadly Dr. Pilkington. To be clear, David Pilkington is the one and only reason we have been loyal to this clinic for all these years. If not for David, we would have changed clinics years ago. Now, they have given us reason to change simply out of greed. Vet care is as expensive , meds are expensive. When the clinic makes a petty policy that costs you more money, you shop around.

One, I'm not Caucasian, and I know a micro aggression when I hear one, so strike one. I let it go, but it seems every time I took him to this vet, the bill would be astronomical. I have every receipt and never paid UNDER $300. They apologize and say they don't set the prices. A little less than a month ago, I took my fur baby back to this vet for an update on shots, nail trim, eye issues and an ear infection. The meds they gave didn't work, and the ear meds made it worse. The place is NEVER packed, maybe one or two patients would be there at the same time I was. They'll never get my business again. Look at patterns in these comments and the lowest stars are from people of color. Take your fur kids to ANOTHER vet. If I could give NO stars to this hospital, I absolutely would. The service is awful depending who you are, pricey and my dog means the world to me. I would never trust them again with his health.
