Update: I have not been a patient at Premier Dental Care since 2017 because I moved out of Massachusetts. However, since my last visit to Premier Dental Care in 2017, I've had to endure at least 10 dental procedures to re-do or repair the substandard work they conducted on me from 2015 - 2017. The latest involved replacing what they termed as a "very small filling" that they did around 2015 and was failing just 8 years later. Ultimately, because they drilled so far into that tooth, I had to have a root canal and crown. Based on other reviews, and my X-rays before and after, I question if there really was a "cavity" in that tooth, or if they just were trying to run up their billable insurance hours... Other notes: About me: all my other dentists have told me that my dental hygiene is among the best they've ever seen and I've never had any other "cavities" before or since. About you: Until and after you, ALL my dentists / orthodontists have taken special measures to ensure that my bite was correct before I left their office. Your dental practice is the ONLY one that made me book multiple appointments for bite adjustments. Shame on you for trying to normalize booking multiple appointments. It's just an indication that you're trying to milk insurance for more money. read more

Within 6 months of my first visit, they've f-ed up my mouth beyond all belief, and I've probably paid over $5k out of pocket for the privilege. I've had over 6 procedures on a single tooth that brought it from no pain initially to increasing levels of pain, and now I'm in constant agony and will probably have to have the tooth extracted with no hope of an implant (because their treatment made that less feasible). They seemed really nice, and I placed my trust in their expertise/advice but now I wish I had never set foot in their offices. I'm just hoping I can find someone reputable to mitigate/repair the damage so I can live my life instead of being consumed with managing this excruciating pain. read more

While i believe they have the best interest in mind, found some of the dentist overly focused on getting extra dental work done for revenue purposes. I've never had a cavity in my life, they recommended I get a filing due to a "dark spot that may become a cavity". Should have declined the recommendation. The dentist who did the filling never checked if they could floss between the teeth, had to go back later to have them redo the filling. Tone of the second dentist who asked the assistant who did the first filling clearly showed the first one was done poorly. My advice would be to get a second opinion before doing anything other than a routine cleaning read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I went to this dentist in September and was told I had 7 cavities and that I was a high risk patient. I have only ever had 3 in my life so I knew something was up. I went to a different doctor and was told that I didn't have any and that large corporations like these compete to have the most cavities filled under their names like it's a game. The doctor I saw was dr.Zakhem, stay far away from him! My friend has gone here before and had a better experience so he might be the main issue, but staying away from large chains like this is probably your best bet! read more

This was by far the worst experience I've had. I initially came in for a cleaning and to have my metal permanent retainer removed. Over the phone they assured me that insurance covered everything and offices typically didn't charge to simply take out a metal permanent retainer. When I got into the office I was then told that my teeth would need a deep cleaning and they didn't have time because it would take an hour. I was then left sitting waiting for over an hour and 30 mins for the dentist to examine my teeth. After examining she told me I had 7 cavities (which after checking elsewhere was not true). She also quickly popped off the retainer and then told me that was going to be $200 out of pocket. And that the deep cleaning I needed wouldn't be fully covered by insurance. This place is very deceitful and had no consideration for your time. The only thing they care about is tricking you into as many procedures as possible hoping to charge you as much as they can. read more

I never thought there would be a day where i would rate or review my new dental office but this is well deserved. From the staff greeting you to the dental hygienists and doctors, everyone is very friendly and warm. I had to get a new dentist after switching jobs and this was a perfect fit. Dr. Pezeshki is very informative, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. After an appointment he had given me his email, contact information and instructed me to reach out for anything at all which was comforting. They always send reminders for your appointment and explain how each bill will be broken down. Very helpful. Very appreciative of Dr. Pezeshki who did an excellent job on my crown. I visited a dental office in Boston and received awful advise for a fractured molar (DMD recommended I eat popcorn to break the tooth!). Dr. Pez assured me no one should have recommended me trying to break the tooth on purpose, as it could have fractured below the gum line and been cause for a root canal. He fit me in the same day for my crown fitting because he knew I would be moving back to California in a few weeks time and wanted to make sure everything went well before I left. He even gave me the name of a dentist in the area I'll be moving and assured me he would send my records over and discuss if there were any issues. Everything was very professional and they gave me estimates of all procedures before hand so there would be no surprises. Very disappointed in this place. Came to get my wisdom teeth examined as they need to be removed. I'm new to the area from NZ. I asked before I made an appointment if they can remove wisdom teeth and was told if they are erupted then they can. So I made my booking. Before I go on, the receptionist is very nice and was very apologetic throughout all of this, but that doesn't change what happened or give me my money back. Arrived 10mins early for the appointment and they didn't see my until 30mins after my time. Once they finally saw me I was rushed into x-rays and the cleaning. They did not give me any protective glasses to wear and informed me I needed no less than 7 fillings (I had been the dentist a year earlier and had 2 done, he never mentioned 7 more) as well as my wisdom teeth, which I already knew. She then tried to give me extra cost fluoride treatment on even though I told them I didn't want it. They tell me they can't do all my wisdom teeth so I need to be referred to a specialist. I now find out that I can't use the X-rays they took for the specialist and my insurance will now not cover it. I need different X-rays. I can't help but feel they took my insurance money while knowing they probably couldn't do my wisdom teeth as they knew I needed all four removed and knowing they were taking X-rays that could not be used at a dental surgeons. I should've gone straight to an oral surgeon. But either way, the overall experience here was terrible. Go elsewhere and don't go to the surgeons they recommend either. read more

I went to Premier for about a year, but when I got rid of my car, it seemed too much hassle to keep going. I finally got around to going to another dentist, and hated it from the get go. They made me tense, and uncomfortable and didn't listen to me at all. Today I came back to Premier and couldn't believe I got so lazy. My hygienist was nice and considerate and concerned for my well-being. ANd the new receptionist was friendly and made sure I understood everything I needed to for billing. I always recommend these people to my friends. Update: I've decided it is worth the hassle to take a bus and then walk half a mile to get the great service. read more

I have to be honest, I was concerned about how organized the front desk would be since I believe Tracey, the former office manager, left her position. But my visit at the front desk was prompt and organized. And my hygenist is always great, and Dr. H was able to give me an update on what is going on with one of my teeth during my orthodontic work. You are also back to playing mellow, electronic music; at one point it had changed to pop music which I did not find as relaxing. I don't plan on going anywhere but to Dr. H and Premier Dental! Well, unless I move out of state! P.S. - I was just there yesterday, and Hollie and the other new woman at the front desk were extremely helpful. I had a crown put in, and they were able to also fit me in for a cleaning right after that! They are professional and respond to your emails quickly and efficiently. How wonderful! read more

I've been to Premier Dental for a few cleanings and had one small procedure done there. I'm not really sure how to rate them overall, and I'll try to explain... First and foremost I cannot overstate how friendly the recepetionists and hygenists I've interacted with have been. Especially Bernadette, who has cleaned my teeth twice. If I could write a review for her I would give her 5 stars without question. She is very sweet and caring, and is the main reason I went back. When it comes to the doctors I've had a range of experiences. One of them was prompt, friendly and spent time answering questions. Another one was late and made no effort to converse or stay and talk about my questions. With all of the minute things that they watch, I cannot help but feel that sometimes they are looking too hard for things to fix. Maybe it is in my best interest to go along with everything they want to do, but its hard to be sure, especially with these other posts that question them. Even so, I did get one small filling done here. The doctor who did it made no effort to talk to me about the procedure and seemed a little put off when I asked questions before she started. It ached for a week or so afterwards, but I haven't had any issues since. In conclusion I'd say its great for routine cleanings, but be prepared for them to find things that they want to work on. read more

I hadn't been to the dentist is 4 years, because I had sever anxiety walking into any office. I moved out here in 2017 and decided I needed to start going again. I've been a very regular patient of Dr. H since September of 2017. I knew I needed at least one implant done, and extensive work on my two front teeth. This was a huge insecurity for me, and Dr. H could definitely tell. She encouraged me to start the process with them, and this was the first time I had felt comfortable enough with any dental staff to pursue it. I have just finished the final process of two implants, my two front teeth and I feel like a new person. Dr. H was always up front about any work that I needed to have done, and how it would impact my smile, and my confidence. Brittany at the front desk always helped handle my finances and insurance to plan out the best timing for my insurance coverage. And Dr. Lann was so patient and encouraging with the bone graft and placement of the implants, as I was honestly terrified. I cannot say enough good about Dr. Pez, he was really there and invested in the process for the entire year that it took, and I think he may have been more excited than me for the final crown. A huge thank you to all of the staff at Premier Dental Care for my new confidence and look forward to coming back for cleanings only for a few years! WARNING! Do not go to this dentist office. If I could give them 0 stars I would. There are so many problem areas it'll be a challenge for me to remember them all but guaranteed they will try to rip you off. Don't be fooled if they come off friendly. They promote that they only do white fillings but Dr. Hassanein did not properly match the color so 2 of my new fillings stand out and look terrible. She was sloppy filling down the excess resin (filling material) and when I asked her to fix it she said it would wear away naturally. My new dentist filed the problem areas down more than 6 months later. Dr. Hassanein continuously pushed invisalign even after I repeatedly I told her I was not interested. Tracy does the billing and though polite, she is extremely difficult to deal with, she doesn't handle detailed questions or follow up questions well at all, especially when she's wrong. I was shocked to learn that she had repeatedly supplied wrong information by telling me that once I have maxed my insurance benefit I have to pay REGULAR RATES. I checked and double checked with my insurance company and they said that all in network providers have to honor the negotiated rates even after you max out your annual limit. Tracy repeatedly told me, "You have to think about your insurance as a discount plan not insurance." This was completely misleading and left me feeling hopeless about getting the necessary work done until I mentioned it to my insurance company rep who set me straight. I was repeatedly referred by Dr. Hassanein to other practitioners in the office who are not "In Network" (this is a ploy because Hassanein is in network of many plans but NO ONE else in the office is so you have to pay out of network rates for everyone else - she eventually told me that each practitioner chooses which insurances they are In Network with, my problem is that when I scheduled the appt Tracy didn't tell me that the in-house referral was out of network for me). I learned this the hard way after I had a procedure done in the office by another dentist. I had an expensive procedure done and applied for "Care Credit" to finance it (Care Credit is an external medical loan company that I have no problem with). Premier then informed me that they estimated my insurance benefit to be X and my portion was Y which they would bill to my care credit line. Turns out their estimate of my portion was over by more than 100%. They charged more than twice what I owed (which was several hundred dollars) to a credit line that they set me up with. The worst part was that they didn't credit my Care Credit line or even notify me of the overcharge. They kept several hundred dollars of my money while I continued to make monthly payments and accrue interest! When I returned 6 months later for an appt, Tracy told me I was all set, but knowing how strict they are about paying when you have work done I asked how that could be and she said, "You have a small balance from the insurance." Only when I asked for the balance did I learn that the small balance was several hundred dollars, and when pressed she said that it was "not Premier's policy" to send refunds or even notify patients of credit balances. I was still making Care Credit payments! Digital xrays are quick right? But they can never be transferred to another dentist. Tracy finally agreed to print my xrays but my new dentist said that a printout of xrays isn't accurate so he would have to take all new xrays. Dr. Hassanein said that it was because of the "software" they use that the images couldn't be emailed or saved to a jump drive. Why would she buy a software that is limited in that way? I would like to say that it's just Tracy but Dr. Hassanein is definitely directing her to operate the practice this way. I have reported them to my insurance company. BUYER BEWARE!! read more

Originally went here because it had great reviews. When I walked in, I noticed they had a sign that said if you left a 5 star review they will give you a $5 Dunkin' Donuts gift card, which should've been the first red flag. But I went anyway, they told me the first time I had 3 cavities, with one so minor it wasn't worth filling. So I had two filled and he did a great job. Went back again for my next cleaning and a different dentist told me the third needed to be filled, I questioned them this time because I was skeptical and before coming to this office I had only had one filled in my entire 31 years. But again, I had them do it, this time a very young dentist whom I never seen before came in to do the work. He messed up and had to redo it it, the whole process took an hour. Few weeks later it hurt so I called and they told me to come in. Another dentist whom I have never seen before came in and hit my tooth with a metal utensil and asked if it hurt. At this point I was mad. She told me these things happen and I may need a root canal, all for a "minor cavity". 6 months later still hurts. They emailed about my cleaning and I cancelled, so they called and asked why and I told them and all they said was okay bye. No call back not a care in the world. What a horrible practice. How many dentists work here? Maybe if they put the well being of their patients teeth before profits they'd have better reviews. I feel like I at least deserve the $5 gift card. read more

So I found this place on yelp and felt good about all the positive reviews and decided to give it a shot. I also recommended this place to my boyfriend and have seriously come to regret it. Neither of us had gone for a cleaning in an embarrassingly long time so we were both expecting the worst. My appointment was first and so I went in and they told me I had like 4 cavities (I've never had any in my life but didn't really question it since I hadn't been in for a cleaning in so long) but I left feeling like I had been taken advantage of. I thought nothing of it because I tend to be paranoid about things I know nothing about (for example, bringing my car to the mechanics). I set up an appointment for fillings a month later and also another cleaning for 4 months away instead of the usual six because they felt I needed to come back in soon since I hadn't had a cleaning in such a long time. Whatever, I went along with it. Now for my boyfriend's experience, which completely terrified me about returning there and caused me to hastily cancel my future appointments... he went in for a cleaning about a week after me and they told him he had decay under his fillings and they needed to be replaced (he had silver fillings and they wanted to replace them with composite, the white stuff). So he went along with it and went back in for fillings (a couple weeks before my appointment) and felt really uncomfortable the entire time. The woman who was doing his fillings didn't seem very competent and didn't seem capable of providing technical answers to his questions; she avoided them and gave him a simple generic feelgood response. He wasn't impressed with her performance while she was working on his teeth either, she seemed like a bull in a china shop and struggled with some of the tools. Long story short, his fillings were killing him for a couple weeks after. He went back in to Premier to have the fillings shaved down a little and see if they could offer him some sort of guidance as to what he should do. They told him there was a 50/50 chance that he was going to need a root canal!! After the $3,000+ quote, he wanted a second opinion just to be safe... not that $3k is crazy for a root canal, but you want to be sure about things like that. Just this evening he went to a different dentist in Brookline and the difference was night and day! From what my bf told me, the guy was a pro and knew exactly what he was doing. The dentist a Premier did a poor/sloppy job with the fillings. There were issues with the fillings between his teeth which the new doc corrected and he also properly adjusted my bf's bite. The doc said there was a good chance the old silver filling didn't need to be replaced because he had fillings that have been in his mouth for 30 years! He said a root canal should be a last resort and that there were other remedies to try first. He prescribed the bf some fluoride toothpaste to help with the sensitivity he's felt since the filling and gave some flossing recommendations as a first step. He explained the sequence of corrective actions if the pain and sensitivity don't subside (none of which included a root canal). He didn't even charge my bf for the visit because he felt so bad about what the people at Premier did to his mouth and how much money he had already wasted! What a guy! Thank goodness my bf didn't go back to Premier to have any other fillings replaced! (At Premier they told him he'd have to have every filling replaced but they only got to the right side of his bottom teeth for his first visit). I'm planning on making an appointment soon with this new doctor to see what he has to say about my teeth. At least if he says I need fillings or whatever, I'll know I can trust him. I really wanted to like this place as much as everyone else seems to, but I can't help feeling that they're the type of dentist who will search for things that are wrong just so they can get more money from you and your insurance company. I unfortunately feel it necessary to share my poor experience at Premier Dental. I had not been to the dentist in about three years, but had always kept up with brushing and flossing. My upcoming wedding FINALLY got me back in the dentist chair. I found the receptionist and hygienist to be wonderful - friendly and very engaged. Yet the trouble started when the dentist arrived after my cleaning. She didn't introduce herself and didn't make eye contact as she told me that I had severe tooth decay and would need at least 5 fillings at $275 a pop. When I explained that I am a doctoral student without dental insurance and would prefer to wait until September when I can get on my future husband's insurance, she cut me off and told me that it was unacceptable to wait, and that I would LOSE MY TEETH if I didn't do all the recommended dental work immediately. Not only was her manner atrocious, but her conclusions didn't make sense: I'm 29, have had one filling in my life, brush and floss regularly, and have zero tooth pain or visible issues. I felt suspicious and already like I was being preyed on as someone who hadn't been to the dentist in a couple years. Fast forward two weeks. I was so uncomfortable with how I was treated that my mom scheduled me an appointment at her dentist's office (who she and my father have seen for 10+ years and comes highly recommended) in Maine for a second opinion. I did not mention my previous appointment, but wanted to see what their conclusions were. As it turns out, I have ZERO cavities. I'm discouraged by the way I was treated at this office: the dentist was disrespectful, rude, condescending, and preyed on the insecurities of someone who hasn't been in the dentist's chair in a couple of years. I also did not appreciate that she was unwilling to work with the financial constraints of her patient (btw, after I said I couldn't afford everything, she added a $19 bottle of toothpaste to my bill without discussing it with me first). Like others here, I had visited Premier Dental because of good Yelp reviews. Everything that people say about the office, the friendliness of the receptionists, and how easy they make appointments is true. Unfortunately, I had the same experience with being told that I had a huge amount of cavities after only having had one before in my life, which led to problems that I'm still dealing with today. I should have stopped and gotten a second opinion when I was told that I had nine cavities, but I'm one of those people who always expects the worst, and I had been having a lot of tooth sensitivity, so it seemed possible, if improbable. I also come from the kind of small rural town where you would never stop to think that a health care provider would consciously cheat you. It had also been over a year since my last dental appointment and my insurance was about to run out, so I felt rushed. I had all nine cavities done, and had nerve pain down my neck and into my shoulder that lasted for weeks. While she was drilling my last cavity, Dr. Hassanein said that "she saw some discoloration" on one of my other teeth, and would I like to drill and fill it while I still had insurance. I said yes, like an idiot-- I was already numb and so stressed out from having so much dental work in such a short time. I left feeling very uncomfortable and starting to suspect that I'd been taken advantage of. At least I refused the root canal she said I might need, instead opting to wait and see. I'm writing this review now, a year later, because last night one of those less-than-a-year old composite fillings came out while I was flossing and I have to get it replaced. Originally I thought that maybe this was all my fault for not being educated about dental procedures, or not asking the right questions-- but now it's clear that the fillings were not only expensive and unnecessary but poorly done. From the friendly front desk, to the gentle hygienist, and the knowledgeable dentist. They all take their time and make sure you understand everything. The first time I met the dentist; all my dental fears have been put to rest. They have taken their time not only to treat my dental needs, but more important educate me on how to improve my dental care. Most dental offices just go after treating cavities, this office was as concerned about why I had a cavity! Since, I have become a patient; I have referred many of my friends and family there. It's more pricy than other places. Super duper long waiting time. I waited for 40mins. I found Dr Jinous from Zocdoc cuz she has good reviews. I went there, I was not seen by her, instead a younger girl and a older male doctor. I have never seen Dr Jinous during the whole process and no one gives me any explanations. They insist that I need a deep cleansing. And the whole process of general dental cleansing pretty painful by the younger girl. I went to Gentle Dental for another cleansing, the doctor there did it really gentle. There was so bleeding or pain. This place is also pricy compare to other places. I recently had an appointment at Premier Dental for a cracked tooth. I keep getting their fliers in the mail so I thought I'd check them out. The office is easily accessible by the 70 or 70A bus. I was seen quickly. The dental assistant was friendly and took x rays of the tooth. The dentist later came in and reviewed the x rays. I had a root canal done on the tooth years ago. The dentist said the root canal wasn't done properly and the entire tooth needed to be extracted and an implant put in. The dentist was a little pushy about it and, I felt, a little condescending. I wasn't comfortable with the extensive dental procedure the dentist wanted to do so I made an appointment with another local dentist for a second option. The second dentist didn't think I needed too much extensive work done but it was above what his general practice does so he referred me to a specialist who took additional x rays and felt that the tooth could be re-treated with no extraction needed. I'm not sure if Premier costs more than other places. I have dental insurances which covers a lot of basic and restorative dental care. read more

After not going to the dentist for a few years, I decided to get back into the habit and chose Premier Dental. My options are slim, as it was one of a few practices that accepts my insurance. I will never go back. The hygienist that cared for me during my initial visit was attentive and had great bedside manner. I feel that she did a great job cleaning my teeth, getting my x-rays taken, etc. After the hygienist completed my initial care, Dr. Hassanein came into the room and told me immediately that I needed two root canals. There were no other options of care offered, and when I asked to see my x-rays and have the areas pointed out to me, I was flat out ignored. I explained that I did not have any pain in the teeth in which a root canal was prescribed as treatment, and she told me that I needed to get it done to prevent it from getting to the point of pain. This just did not sound right to me, coupled with the fact that I was not even shown my x-rays. I was also prescribed planning and scaling treatment, which I did complete in two office visits. The first visit went fine, but the second visit did not. The hygienist was rough and not nearly as thorough as the first. I was also charged an additional $10 for some mouthwash that was given to me by the hygienist, even though she made it seem like it was already included in my treatment. I also had two of three cavities filled, and it was the worst experience I've ever had getting a filling done. The Dr. was rough, and at times, it felt like my teeth were going to be pulled out of my head. She could not get my bite right, and she left a huge rough patch on the inside of teeth that I can feel with my tongue. The top of filling is very rough, too. I have not been back since. They continually call me, at least once a week, (and have even called multiple times a day) to try and get me into the office for the root canals and other treatments, despite informing them that I no longer wish to use their practice for my dental care. I have gotten a second opinion and I do not need a root canal. They also charge as much as possible for the portion of your payment that is not covered by your insurance. No complaints at all. Would give 5 stars but I think that there's always room for improvement in life. The only incident I ever had here was as much an issue of the harsh reality of heath insurance today as it was the administrative staff of this office. We argued and they were very professional about it all. On to the good: Place is clean, team is friendly and work there is very thorough. I should also say that in all my years of seeing dentists, somehow, the hygenist was tactful enough, yet still scared me enough to finally get me flossing! Probably the greatest cash savings I'll ever get on healthcare is from this avoidance of future deep gum and cleaning work. My 2 kids like the place and feel really comfy there, too -not to mention, my wife does too and she is notoriously hard to please by almost any customer service industry (that's saying it nicely, too). The thing I really like about this office is that everyone is very friendly and they welcome you with a smile. They always try to help you with figuring it out the cost of your dental work and work with you to find you a good deal. I also enjoy mostly the CLEAN ENVIRONMENT, in every aspect. But I mostly love my dentist. I panic and get anxious with dental work but he does a very nice job at walking me through the work step by step, he stops to ask if iI am doing ok. he really cares and wants to make sure your experience is a good one, he is gentle and fast at the same time. Can not say enough about Dr. Pezeshki. I don't think I've ever had any dentist spend so much time explaining dental health to me. A coworker recommended him to me after she'd been so impressed at his detail oriented technique when working on her teeth, but I definitely didn't expect this level of professionalism and expertise. He's also very honest about cost upfront and will tell you what you need to get done now and what can wait. All in all he truly is the way we all wish other dentists/doctors could be. read more

I have never had a bad experience at Premier Dental care. Everyone that I've encountered has been very helpful and pleasant. The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and nice people. The dental staff is professional and courteous. The facility is clean and modern. Before going to Premier Dental, I hadn't been to a dentist in over 10 years. As you can probably imagine, this led me to develop some dental problems. I've had a root canal (my reason for finally breaking down and making an appointment), multiple fillings, cleanings, and comestic dentistry done here. All were done very well and I've had zero problems. They're even good with dealing with high-strung nervous patients such as myself. That fact alone makes them better than any dentist's office I've ever been too. They were gentle and sensitive to my fears and made the whole dental experience a bit less traumatic for me.
