I had an awesome experience with Dr. Torrey at The Bent Lens!…read more From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly staff and impressed by the clean, modern office located in a really cool building. Dr. Torrey took the time to thoroughly explain my eye health, discuss preventative care and maintenance, and walk me through my insurance options in a way that was easy to understand. I never felt rushed, and all of my questions were answered with patience and professionalism. It's clear that Dr. Torrey genuinely cares about his patients and takes pride in providing excellent care. I left feeling informed, confident, and well taken care of. I would highly recommend Dr. Torrey and The Bent Lens to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough eye doctor.

Unfortunately, I won't be returning. I did like this little shop, but they didn't ASK me what I…read morewanted and grossly overcharged me. In any type of retail, especially if medically related like your eyesight/vision, customers should be provided all options for any type of lenses and the beauty of being the one paying is that THEY get to decide what to buy and how much they want to spend. That ability was taken away from me here. My prescription is very very minimal. I've had corrective eye surgeries so I don't need much at all. I picked out a pair of frames that I liked and told the person to go ahead and place my order. I had to come back in to get measured and she said they'll call me when the glasses area ready. I didn't realize until pickup that somehow, for this very simple and very minimal prescription that the glasses were $300-$400!! Say, what??? I was like ok... I paid it and I said I'm going to be checking with my insurance because this isn't right. There's no way for what I was getting it should cost me that much. I also asked for a more detail receipt, not just an amount, but give details on what exactly I was charged. Well, what I found out in the emailed detailed documentation that the person who works there who took my order decided for herself that I was going to buy the MOST expensive lenses possible. I am very upset she did that and never ASKED me what I, the person paying, wanted to buy. She never gave me any options. She never explained anything. I mean, that's your job is to lay out and describe to me what my purchase options are. She just went ahead and ordered the most expensive thing on my behalf. I didn't think of it during the purchase process (why isn't she showing & explaining lens options...) because that part is their job #1 and #2, I haven't purchased glasses in a really really long time due to my corrective eye surgeries. I didn't even think of what she was *not* doing correctly. So, I called and has this discussion and I needed some of this money back. No way am I paying almost $400 for glasses that barely have any prescription to them, thus I will barely even need/use. I liked the frames so I wanted to keep them and she offered getting the lenses remade. And I'm feeling like, I don't know that I want to do business with them again. So that wasn't my preference given what just happened, how nothing was explained and I was just charged without my consent. Next I said what if I just return the lenses and she said she would refund me. So, that's what I ended up doing. To me it's really ridiculous that she couldn't refund me the difference for the less expensive lenses and allow me to keep the lenses already manufactured and in the frame. -- THAT would have been the ideal response. -- THAT would have saved losing me as a customer for life. So, now we are just going to fully waste the most expensive, perfectly good lenses, sized only for my frames, and with my own prescription for absolutely nothing? Great. How stupid. She is the one who grossly messed up and she should have allowed me to keep those lenses for her mistake instead of being so wasteful. I'm out.

I am torn with this place; doctors are good staff is friendly but had to wait nearly two months…read moreafter the promise date to receive the glasses. They do not list their local number, you get connected to a call center who then calls the local office. I was on hold for an hour, spoke with someone who then called them. Was told they would call the next day with an update; no call. I had to drive to their office for an update 2 months later. I know these times are tough. I know offices are behind. It one call with an update would have been great. When I received my glasses they had sticky stuff on the frame & dirty lenses. You would think they could at least prep the glasses prior to hand off. I had to setup another appointment because now, my prescription may not be correct. The other VERY odd thing is they DO NOT provide you with the manufacturers case for the glasses! My wife's case nearly contorted her glasses, , they were expensive and a little research shows that those drones do indeed have a OEM case. Picked up my Nike frames today and recd myeyedoc branded case that my glasses barely fit in. I can't imagine Nike missing an opportunity to put a swish on something. To be clear, I am Not complaining abou t the cases not having a name brand, my concern is that it will bend or damage my glasses. Are they reselling these cases or what? Any ways I am definitely considering getting back to my original eye doc since we are back on good insurance.
