On top of that I decided our old window treatments weren't quite right for our new gorgeous bathroom so reached out to my trust decorator for recommendations. She said she's had nothing, but great experiences with Gotcha Covered...and looks like (based on the stellar reviews) that many yelpers agree. I called last Monday and found time on a Saturday morning for a sales rep (Jay) to stop by. Saturdays are ideal for my work schedule, although when he stopped by at 10am I had 3 kids I had to kick out of their rooms (especially the teenager) so he walked into a bit of craziness, but didn't seem bothered by it. Within an hour we chose hunter douglas room darkening shades for my kids rooms, as well as a custom made silhouette window shade for our bathroom. My decorator facetimed to help us pick a color and fabric for the window, which ended up being a quick 5 min call. We were able to match all the shades to the existing trim in all the rooms and then Jay was off. Jay promised a quote by Monday, but delivered it Saturday afternoon. While pricey it ended up being much less than I expected (also included a designer referral discount) and I"m really happy with everything we ordered. I did think about shopping around, but decided to just go with Gotcha Covered based on the stellar reviews, great service from Jay and the price seemed fair (even chatgpt agreed :)). They required a 50% deposit to place the order and promised to deliver/install in 4-6 weeks. I'll update my review after installation, but I'm happy so far!

I…read morecan't speak to the 57th Street Bookcase and Cabinets business, but I can very strongly say I do NOT recommend 57st Design. This is a difficult review to write, as the dresser I ended up ordering and receiving from 57st Design is BEAUTIFUL and exactly what I wanted. However, the customer service is SORELY lacking and the journey to receiving this dresser was unpleasant. I recently endeavored to buy American-made solid wood furniture, and 57st Design was one of the three places I ordered from to get new furniture. The other two places I purchased from had totally accurate lead times on their websites, my furniture arrived on time and communication was regular and consistent. I am used to the long wait times for this kind of furniture and have been extremely pleased with the previous two places I ordered from. I ordered a dresser from 57st Design on Sept 15, 2025. The lead time on the website was 12-15 weeks which, unfortunately, put it right in the middle of the holiday season. In the middle of December, I asked what the order status was. I was told promptly that my dresser would be shipping the last week of December or the first week of January. Cue a week-long saga starting December 30th where I try to get anyone to answer me on what the status is now. First week of Jan comes and go with no response. It takes 8 days into the new year for an answer and I strongly feel like I only got an answer because my previous email had acknowledged the possibility of production delays. All in all, my dresser, which is still quoted as 12-15 weeks on their website, took 19 weeks to be delivered to my door. Even allowing for 2 more weeks due to the holiday season, it still took another 2 weeks after that. On top of that, I was given a 2-4pm delivery window and my delivery didn't occur until 6pm. The delivery workers themselves were wonderful and did a great job getting it inside, but being 2 hours late is a bit difficult to accept with a smile. The dresser itself is beautiful and exactly what I needed--I just wish the journey to receiving it went much more smoothly. It seems I'm not alone in experiencing issues with communication. Delays need to be communicated to customers proactively. There needs to be more ways to reach someone besides an email address (that can go unanswered).

But it seems that era has ended. I came in a hot mess, I have no design skills. I relied on the sales person to help me and I thought she was amazing. She was kind, patient and seemed to really get me and my condo style - benig "vintage" and wanting to modernize was beyond me. She was super helpful and made me feel like she knew exactly what I needed. That was until I left the showroom. I ordered two ceiling fans from her that day, it wasn't cheap. I also ordered one I'd found on my own online. I hired someone reputable to install them for me and I was all set. But then they left and within days the two I purchased from Crest (different manufacturers) were both on the fritz. Hard to believe for sure, but both manufacturers agreed this was a fluke and they both had inherent issues requiring replacement. And then I had to replace them, which meant I had to pay for the labor again. One of the fixtures is in a room I hadn't needed the fan for in the first year. But then I did, and it didn't work. At that same time I noticed the on/off switch wasn't working properly either. I called the manufacturer and they agreed it was a warranty claim and to call Crest to replace the wall switch. Not something I feel comfortable doing on my own. When I talked to Crest, they said they'd order me a part and well... they did but never called to tell me it had come in. I called on my own three weeks later and they said it was there waiting for me. I verified I could wait for the weekend to get it. Of course they are closed on Sundays so It had to be during the short Saturday hours. I raced to get there in the window only to find a lot of confusion. It wasn't waiting for me at all. The woman who said she'd call me was there and surprised I was asking questions. She said she hadn't heard back from the manufacturer to answer my question about paying for labor, and they all just threw their hands up and said they couldn't help me because the manager wasn't there. Let's just say it's the end of an era and I won't be back for business in the future. Good luck with your purchases after you leave the store.
