Their new office is located on the second floor inside a historic building where you will find some very interesting and distinctive architectural details on the ceiling and throughout the structure. What I love about this office is that it is very warm, unlike most cold, all white-walled, and uncomfortably too sterile dental clinics, and the colorful furnishings and decor make you feel more at home. I felt serene as soon as I walked through the door--I've never felt like this at any dental clinics before. We were happy to see Rouba, our favorite dental hygienist. She's passionate about her work, easygoing, uplifting, and always a pleasure to talk to. Rouba was actually a dentist in her home country of Lebanon, so she's very informative about how to take good care of your teeth. What sets this dental practice apart from others is that they put on your favorite music on YouTube for you while your teeth gets worked on, helping you to relax. There's a TV screen in every room. During that visit, Dr. Schenkman gave me the news no one wants to get: You have cancer. I don't have words to describe the caring and empathy shown by Dr. Schenkman and the entire staff that day, it was like I was the only patient there. They referred me to an ENT and followed up after to check and see how I was doing. Perhaps a year later I ran in to Dr. Schenkman at the Y where he was picking up his children. Today she is 3.5 and it was the first time they had to scrape for tartar. She was obviously scared but Dr Christa showed her on her nails that it doesn't hurt, they're did the same with the fluoride. My little emotional girl didn't cry at all. They have a play kitchen in the waiting room so I go 10 mins early so she can play. They also let you pick a little toy out of a vending machine at the end.

This is my first review for a practice I'm just starting up with, although my initial impression is…read morequite good. Dr. Hannawi had a tough task - he just acquired the practice of a dentist I've used (and loved) since 1989. During this transition we are still being seen in the "old" North Attleboro office, to give us all time to transition to the new relationship and slightly different approach to dental care. On my first visit, which my former dentist had scheduled to replace some older fillings, I already observed many instances of the change. The first was waiting nearly 10 minutes before being seated in the chair, which had never happened before. This was possibly due to using two computer systems to manage my record, possibly due to different times each practice allots for certain procedures, or maybe the extra time needed to meet every patient for the first time. Dr. Hannawi used a few different tools from my former dentist - a newer imaging system, a hand held small camera that could take digital images of my teeth, and a thin headlamp that was cool but would have frightened my kids when they were little. He also had a different view about replacing these fillings. He thought that even though they are both old, it was premature to do anything with one. As for the other, his recommendation was a bit more aggressive: the filling is large in relation to the tooth, so cap it rather than fill it. I already have two crowns but prefer to keep my own teeth as long as possible. When I indicated that, we moved ahead to the filling. There was a difference here too; only amalgam was used, not the silver filling material, regardless of whether we were filling a front or interior tooth. Since my insurance supports amalgam only for front teeth, my out of pocket cost for the service was three times more than it would have been with my former dentist. Dr Hannawi and his assistant Maria have great bedside manner and work efficiently together. I look forward to continuing to see them and eventually moving to their usual office in Attleboro.
