He passes off most of the work to his staff. My 8 year old received an expander and braces. She complained every day about the expander being very uncomfortable. We told Dr Boothe at her 3 week appointment after having the expander in. He stated this was normal and all kids go through the same thing. We took her to a different orthodontist who removed the expander and commented it was the largest he had ever seen. She had 3 places on the roof of her mouth and around 2 molars that were red and bleeding. The braces had been placed on her 4 front top teeth, 2 of which were very loose so were not holding anything. The new orthodontist has 4 different expanders available that he could have used. Our child's old metal expander is being replaced with a plastic removeable retainer that will now hold her palate in place; this could have been done easily at the 3 week mark when all the turns had been done and the roof of her mouth had expanded to it's current position. Also, a different metal expander could have been used instead of the one choice that is available at Verde Valley Ortho. Dr. Boothe does not have the current tools available to him and is still only using an expander that was designed in the 1950's. Don't let this Dr convince you that there is only one choice for Phase 1 orthodontic work.

After I requested another tray at my cost, they called me and had to reschedule because their guy was sick and didn't get mine made. I had to go to a funeral out of state when I return and called to make appointment to pick it up , NOW I have to go to my regular dentist. Girls in front office are very sweet but say they have to go off what was in chart by DR Patterson. WHY? shame on this office.

He actually talked us out of treatment at this point, advising us to wait to see how our daughter's mouth developed. I loved how honest he was. We have seen other orthodontists who suggested immediate treatment, but Dr. Sara was patient in explaining his rationale. I didn't feel pressured to make an immediate decision, and he gave us all the information we needed (including walking through the 3D X-rays). The staff was friendly and warm. I don't think anyone looks forward to going to get braces, but this office made the experience informative and pleasant. When the time comes for corrective measures for our kids teeth, this is where we are going.

It's significantly disappointing to pay a doctor over $6,000 to have Invisalign applied and then be given no information about my actual treatment. My original contact was for two years of braces followed by retainers. He inadvertently took my braces off too soon and promised to fix them with Invisalign. Instead he used a cheaper in house type of retainer to fix my teeth. When I moved out of state I found out I could not complete my treatment as Invisalign was not used. When I contacted his office I was told in a nutshell too bad. No refund of any kind. Also, he is so busy he could never stop to discuss my care. He is rude to the young people he employs which is a shame because I like them. It's taking a chance to use him even though he has a reputation for skilled work. His ethics are lacking.
