Place is gorgeous. The rooftop bar has some great artwork and has fans to help you keep cool. I noted gas heaters too for Fall/Winter.

The downstairs bar is very smoky but the rooftop is beautiful, the drinks were reasonably priced and service was great!

    1) Don't leave your credit card with bartenders 2) Smoker bar with rude bartenders Don't start a tap because they keep credit cards. I heard fraud stories at this place and bartenders are ferocious and rude. It is a smoker bar even if there are "No Smoking" signs inside, they sell cigarettes right by the entrance. Old and stinky place. Only thing I liked was their nice roof top. 3 tiny bit brie cupcakes for $9. "Their Bruschetta" is just mini toasted bread pieces, tomato and mozzarella slices, $13. It wasn't looking good, I didn't want to eat it and I asked them if they can replace it with something else or refund my money. They said they can't do anything and they kept the food. One of the bartenders started arguing over my food and lecturing me about how the bruschetta should be done. She was aggressive. And the other one was trying to tame her.

The rooftop decor looked so inviting, we decided to head up after dinner across the street. It was a nearly silent Monday night, but we had to pay a $3 cover charge each - cash only. The ATM nearby had a $4 fee, so that was $10 before we even got to the super steep staircase through the smoking bar. The bar on the roof was horrible. The servers were apologetic that they couldn't make normal drinks like an Old Fashioned or a daiquiri or a margarita because those things "would cause ants." Their credit card machine was not working, so we had to pay cash. Their one frozen drink was meh, and their recommendation for a replacement for the Old Fashioned was not good. The drinks were served in tiny to-go cups at the cost of $16 before gratuities. The views were lovely, but the drinks were not! I will not return.

Stopped here for drinks after dining on Market Square. Rooftop bar has great views of the Square and a nice place to listen to the live music from the Square's stage. Frozen Margaritas were very good. Interesting collection decorating the area.

Now this is a Quesadilla! Damn, that was delish and only 10 bucks!

I'm so glad we stopped into this pub off the street of Market Square. We visited Knoxville for a day during our week long trip to Norris Lake from MN. This place caught our eye with the funky decor on the rooftop- white Japanese tree and the large flamingo. Really cool atmosphere inside and even cooler rooftop area! The misters kept us cool but not wet, and it was really fun to check out all the decor. Drinks were good and cheap and service was great!

Fun place with three different floors, each with a full bar. They share a rooftop bar with Bernadette's next door. I loved the old school arcade games on the second floor and the eclectic decor.

At midday on a weekday (spring-2026), this warm-feeling comfortable pub was active but not crowded. Of course we had beer-battered fish & chips: tender sweet cod in a not-too-thick crunchy flavorful coating, with fresh greens, onions, and tomatoes. Served with piping-hot thin fries, hand-cut to give a variety of crispier vs. soft bites. You could get that as a small-plate, as a Po'Boy sandwich, or as a main. And we had a bowl of thick rich flavorful creamy chowder. Delicious, satisfying dishes. They had a nice selection of deep crusty savory pies, too. We loved their amazing range of single-malt whiskeys, including some like a smokey softly-fruity Port Askaig that we haven't seen elsewhere. We liked slowly sipping a strongly-peaty young Islay, like 10-year Laphroaig, and Boyd's also had plenty of smoother well-aged pours up and down the price-range. They also had a nice selection of crafts, ales, stouts, ciders, and several Scottish brews. We saw that they have live music almost every evening (not Mondays), with midday music Sat and Sun. Scottish, Irish, bluegrass, old-time, classic country, and more! Next time we have to fit that into our schedule. And fútball (soccer) of course! Boyd's Jig & Reel is a must-visit in the middle of Knoxville!

Abridged Beer Company - A Standout Culinary Surprise…read more As a former restaurant owner and a lifelong foodie, I've learned to keep my expectations high and my praise rare. Abridged, however, earned every bit of this five‑star review. My husband and I are devoted food lovers, though as a sober couple, breweries aren't usually our first choice. Still, the buzz around Abridged was impossible to ignore, and I'm glad we listened. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this place has a loyal following--it's loud, lively, and often packed. If you prefer a more manageable noise level, do yourself a favor and book a reservation in the dining wing. It's still energetic, but you can actually hear the person across from you. The service team deserves real credit. They move with purpose, know the menu, and never leave you waiting. Even better, Abridged offers multiple mocktails and non‑alcoholic beers--something many breweries overlook entirely. It's refreshing to feel included rather than accommodated. Now, the food. This is where Abridged truly shines. We were so impressed on our first visit that we returned the very next week. Visit One: - Pot Roast Nachos - Signature Burger - NA Beer The nachos alone could convert anyone into a regular--rich, hearty, and unexpectedly refined. The burger was equally impressive, balanced and beautifully executed. Visit Two: - Pot Roast Nachos (again, because how could we not) - Meatball Pizza - Mocktail + NA Beer The consistency was remarkable. Those nachos were just as spectacular the second time, and the pizza was a standout in its own right--comforting, flavorful, and clearly crafted with intention. Abridged has quickly become one of our favorite new spots, and we're already planning our next visit. There's so much more on the menu calling our names, and if our first two experiences are any indication, we're in for a treat. A must‑try for anyone who loves great food--whether you drink or not.

After last night I'm not sure if we will ever return. We were seated outside at a table that was right in front of the in and out doors. We waited almost 15 minutes before someone came to wait on this. Honestly this would have been longer if my husband hadn't gone in to ask about a server for our table. Mind you, there were plenty of servers walking to help the other tables around us as we were waiting. Finally a server walked up, her name started with an A, and she was very flippant with helping us. I ordered a beer and my husband ordered water and son ordered a soda. We also went on and ordered since we had no idea when she would return for our order. She brought the water and soda but no beer and then we didn't see her (at our table) until our food came out. My beer came out with the food, a good 10 minutes after I ordered it. I know you may be thinking that the bar was backed up but her other table (that arrived after) got their drinks right away and also a 2nd order of drinks before I received my beer. She never came to check on us with our food and spent more time at the table that arrived with her friends. Her attitude and personality was vastly different with our table versus her friend's table. When it came time to get us our check. I saw her roll her eyes and walked towards us. I let it slide instead of calling her out on her actions as I just wanted to leave. We paid our check and left. I truly feel like this will be our last time here because of the service we received. We have many friends who travel to Knoxville for various sporting events (since I'm in that industry) and I always recommend Stock and Barrel. After last night, I'll be recommending some other place.

It was fairly busy when I visited, and there was a line to get beer, which isn't a problem. I happen to see a friend of mine waiting in line to get a beer. I walked over to speak with him. We hadn't seen each other in probably five or six years. Another guy cut in line right in front of him before he could get his beer. Then, when it was my friends turn, the bartender (Josh) was less than friendly. I realize that they're just pouring beer, but the gentleman was decidedly unfriendly, he did not smile even once; he did not even indicate that he was ready to take an order in anyway by acknowledging us with a look or anything. Heck, he didn't even speak to us. Honestly, he was just rude & beyond unfriendly. I don't get it. If you do not like your job, get a new one. If you don't like pouring beer for people (which does seem like a super great job), get a different job. The fact that he would be there on what appeared to be a fairly busy night, which is good for the business, and be so unpleasant is beyond my comprehension. So, the beer selection is very eclectic, with something for everyone. It's super great that you can buy beer to go. The female bartender was awesome. I'm conflicted on what sort of review that I should give Admiral pub, because there were so many positive aspects to it, except Josh pretty much ruined the entire experience by his sour demeanor (although I adore sour beers) and persistent scowl.
