No crumbs left behind!!!! The menu here is mouthwatering. I ordered the Thai bowl(no peanuts) with Goetta on top. Every bite felt like it was healing my soul. This is a tough review to write as I've been a bit of a super fan since Press opened. This place was in my weekly rotation and sometimes that meant 2-3 times a week. Unfortunately my last several visits here haven't been great. The food quality has taken a colossal hit. Today was the final straw and an end of an era for me. The breakfast tot waffle used to be a classic but the last few times the portions have gotten skimpier and skimpier. They've switched from a thick, house shredded cheese to what seems like low quality bagged thin cheese. The guacamole was brown and tasted like it was already going bad. The little tomatoes that were on the bowl were barely ripe. The side of gietta was burnt and this wasn't the first time. The last time they burnt the gietta, I brought it out their attention and they seemed annoyed by it. No apology, just took it and remade it. read more

Wife and I stopped in here while we were waiting for our aquarium time and over all it was just okay! If I could give it a 3.5 I would! We were greeted quickly after walking in, grabbed a menu and a couple drinks and ordered at the counter. I ordered the Nashville Hot Honey Chicken with fries and she ordered the chipotle grilled chicken. Both of our sandwiches lacked flavor especially my Nashville Hot sandwich. Fries were plain jain with hardly anything that stuck out. The main star of the show was the big portion of Brussels, they were good but again still needed some seasoning. Positives. The Goetta sandwich was good. Egg cooked perfectly and it had a nice slice of fresh tomato. The potato tot waffle good but didn't look like a waffle. Ours was a mess but I saw other diners that ordered it and it look great. The negative is the Bloody Mary. No olives no celery no limes or lemons. When I asked they said they don't have any. This was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon. I'd be a regular here if I lived in Newport. It's casual in the way that I like, with lots of food options. I got the avocado toast, which was really good. It comes with strawberries and honey, and I don't really like anything sweet on my avocado toast. I got the strawberries on the side. This is my second review. I'm writing this after an extremely uncomfortable experience here on a busy morning. I'm also reiterating what another customer, Luke M., stated just six days ago about the same women (green hair, general manager). I ordered at the register and thought I placed an order for a tater tot waffle with the hash toppings (peppers, onions, cream). When the food arrived they gave me just a plain tater tot waffle. So the food runner took it back to manager and I watched her get angry with him and look over at me so I walked over to clarify what I had ordered. She is very aggressive so I got aggressive back because I'm annoyed that not only did I wait 30 minutes for my food, but now I'm getting treated like I'm in the wrong. So she makes me pay the difference bc there was a price difference in what I received and the lady at register typed in. That's fine, I mean $6 they must need that more than I do so whatever. Well then they bring me the meal and it was still incorrect. It looked I was given a hash tater tot bowl. I asked for the waffle base not the bowl base. Maybe I wasn't being clear enough but when I asked the food runner to explain to me how to order it the correct way in the future he acted like he had no idea what I was saying. I ended up leaving my food there, barely touched bc I was so annoyed with the interaction all together. I really still am very confused by the entire menu and how I go about ordering a tater tot waffle base WITH the specified toppings on it. The whole place is kind of out of whack and the menu is not easy to understand and god forbid you try to get someone to explain it. My advice- don't ask for anything from the green haired lady! A slight ding on the "tossed" greens being served with dressing on the side (a minor inconsistency). After having a pretty poor experience at Press, I went back to give it one more chance and was much happier! The Thai bowl was fresh and flavorful and the waffles were solid. From what I can tell, the lunch options are better than the savory breakfast items. I'm looking forward to going back and exploring more of the menu. Got the hash with veggie sausage and was disappointed to see that it was just a patty and not crumbled and distributed evenly over the bowl. The tots were good and I like that this breakfast bowl used them instead of hash browns or breakfast potatoes. However, the chicken biscuit completely fell apart. I was very disappointed and even though the flavor was ok having to finish eating it with a knife and fork because the biscuit basically disintegrated ruined it for me. My mom liked it and said she'd go back but the chicken biscuit absolutely did not meet my sandwich expectations so I'm pretty meh about the place. The fancy fresh orange juice was also a bust as it had pulp and the label neglected to warn me. Also if you aren't aware this place runs more or less like a fast food or fast casual place where you order your own food at the counter and get up to refill your own water. This place should be on your regular restaurant circulation if it isn't already. Today I had the burger with crispy brussels and every bite was fantastic. I'm often disappointed when my brussels are not actually or crispy or crispy enough but these were perfection as well as the flavor a delight. The burger was so hot and juicy and wonderful. I didn't add the egg but i did add some ketchup. Pop in when you get the chance. You will not be dissapointed. You might even get the cashier with jokes. Added bonus. PRO TIP: I asked if they take cash. They do. They prefer it! I think most small businesses do to save on CC fees.
