I had a gorgonberry salad with a bison patty on the side and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked bison patty with a lovely char and good flavor. Little Mister had the Sriracha Caesar salad sans Sriracha and red onion. He finished the entire salad plus a side of onion rings. The small salads are generously sized. Hubs had the beginning burger and he was very happy with it. It was super juicy and delicious. Seated right away Got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with onion & pickles. Chili cheese fries The sandwich was not spicy.. it lacked some sort of sauce in my opinion. That's what I get for getting chicken at a burger place. 7/10 HUGE sandwich though. My friend got their signature burger and said it was delicious . Chili cheese fries were okay. 7/10 aswell. Finished off with root beer float. Now that was good, worth the $8 I think. For the price, I don't think it is worth it. The burgers are very big, but the little bit of flavor is missing. I had great service and really appreciated the variety on the menu. The atmosphere inside is lovely, and there's so much to see and do around Montgomery before or after dinner. We ordered the snack burger and fries, and while they were good, they weren't anything revolutionary. I've definitely had better burgers, but the beef tasted incredibly fresh and was well prepared. We've been here twice so it's about time I write a review especially since the food was good! The first visit was during Burger Week. This was our first Burger Week and our first visit to BRU Burger Bar. The inside of the restaurant had a cool vibe and the seating was comfortable. Our server was very pleasant and made us feel at home. We knew we were going to order more than the Burger Week burger and I'm glad we did. We started with the Triple Dip - Goat Cheese, Peppadew Pepper Jam, Hummus, Guacamole, Onion Straws, Grilled Naan Bread. This appetizer was fantastic. It was SO fresh and delicious. I highly recommend! The burgers were juicy and quite yummy. The fries were great and the ketchup, which had to be house made, was delicious. We went a second time after I had a procedure nearby. Different visit, different food. This time we ate outside. It was comfortable, but the vibe was decidedly less cool. Mark ordered the chili cheese fries and a a burger on bread, so it must have been the Patty Melt on sourdough. I had a burger and onion rings. I had very recently been sedated, so my apologies, but I can't remember the name of burger, but it had bacon and white, melty cheese. The burger filled the bun and the cheese was oozy and yummy. The onion rings were lightly battered and quite good in that house made ketchup. We would totally come back. In fact, we at at Blu Burger Bar downtown before a show. First time visiting this place for lunch. We were craving burgers, and since Bones was closed down the street, we decided to try this place. So glad we did! The restaurant does have the ability to get reservations through Open Table, which is helpful because they are really busy. Indoor, outdoor and bar seating available. Our waitress, MiKayla and other servers had exceptional customer service. Our waitress in particular was phenomenal. The food was outstanding. First time at Bru Burger and I was extremely disappointed. The only good food we ate was the fries and the onion rings. The chili had good flavor but was cold. The burgers were burned and tasteless. I was stunned by the lack of engagement by the wait staff. I sat by the bar, and I witnessed at least 6 servers just standing there. One person was even scrolling her phone. My daughter had a seasonal cocktail that didn't mention that it was a warm cocktail. My Bru Old Fashioned was boring, like it was missing the bitters. We ordered the Triple Dip for an appetizer and we enjoyed that. It's hummus, guacamole, goat cheese and jam, served with onion straws and pita. We didn't get to finish much of it because our entrees, which were ordered after our cocktails and appetizer, came out very shortly after the appetizer was delivered. My daughter ordered the Patty Melt and Fries for her entree and I ordered the Fish Sandwich and Onion Rings. My daughter said the fries were ok but the patty melt was dry. My food was very unappetizing. Someone in the kitchen was heavy handed with the sugar in the breading that was used for the onion rings and fish. It was off putting. My daughter also likes onion rings and tried one and found them weird tasting also. The sugary taste of the breading definitely didn't compliment the fish sandwich or the onion rings. We asked for boxes and loaded the majority of both of our food into them so that my daughter could give it to her friend who was working late - hoping to not waste so much food and money. We ended up here because the restaurants in the area all had an hour wait. This place had a 10 minute wait - on a Friday night. We decided to give them a chance - even though our last experience at the downtown location was bad enough that we both said we wouldn't return. Went to BRU Burger Bar and it happened to be a nice day, so we ate outside on the patio. It's covered, so it offered some shade and there was a gentle breeze coming through. I ordered a portobello melt with spinach, caramelized onions, horseradish havarti, and parmesan on sourdough. My friend ordered a lamb burger with whipped goat cheese, spinach, red onion jam and curry mayo. They both sounded great, so we split and shared what we had - delicious! They have loyalty cards which includes the nearby restaurants, so we each got one today. Will be back. read more

The service was wonderful. We were greeted nicely at the door and then by our server. We got cocktails - the German mulled red wine (she warmed it up for me even though we were there for lunch), Sweet Juniper, and Snowcap Martini. They were all good. We skipped the appetizers since we saw how big the sandwiches were with the fries. We got 3 different kinds of burger and a salmon sandwich. As you can see the fries were mountainess and the burgers were a good size and enjoyed. I thoroughly enjoyed my salmon! We didn't try dessert since no one had room - next time! We skipped the appetizers, although plenty sounded good, & went straight for burgers & sides. Every burger is customizable to fit what you want. I ordered the Black & Bleu Bison Burger (Cajun Seasoning, Gorgonzola, Bacon, Mayo, Garden - $16.50) as-is, prepared medium with a side of fries ($2.50). As soon as I took a bite into this burger, I knew we chose the right place for dinner (as if the atmosphere & service hadn't been telling enough). The burger was seasoned perfectly & had such great layers of flavor. The bacon was crispy & the cheese was tangy & pungent. I enjoyed the fries as well as the ketchup that was clearly made in-house. Our son had a turkey burger with white American cheese and bacon on a white bun ($19.50). I didn't try his, but I will say he's a teen & was talking about how well-seasoned he thought it was, so I think that counts for something lol. I eventually had to place my to-go order with the manager, who excused the behavior by saying it was a "busy night." Unfortunately, that's no excuse for being ignored. This is one of my family's favorite spots for a dinner out. I love their burgers but find that their fried chicken sandwich is actually my favorite thing on the menu. It's perfectly crispy and so big that I usually bring almost half back in a carry-out box. My other go-to is the mushroom and Swiss burger. Their fries and onion rings are also amazing. The manager came around too to ask us how things were going and refilled drinks for us. I'm excited about this newer location in Montgomery so we don't have to travel downtown. So this place is a new and welcome addition to the area. My wife and I visited one of their locations in Indy and LOVED it. I figured there was no way this visit would live up to that experience but I was wrong. It was better. I got the Honey-Chipotle BBQ burger with the much lauded Onion Rings. Look at my picture. Seriously, check it out. It's not a photo from the website and I'm not that great of a photographer, it just really does look that impressive. It's HUGE! Bring your appetite. Let me break it down... Onion rings. Ready? Do you LOVE onion rings? I recommend going all in on the theme (the burger includes a couple of them) & getting a full order for your side. I know it's not an award they were going for but they won, HANDS DOWN, my favorite onion rings of all time. Battered, not breaded. Fried perfectly. Crisp outer crust with a soft, yielding layer underneath surrounding the onion. The onion is cooked perfectly in there. Long enough to soften but it still kept some texture to it. I've had all the best onion rings in Cincy and these are the best of the best. Somebody took the time to figure these out and do them oh so right! The burger. Meat seasoned nicely. Smashed on a flat top which I love because when it's done right you get this great, almost crispy, crust with great concentrated meaty flavor and you get a nice moist, soft interior because that crust seals the juices in. They do it right here. Good quality meat is just one of the details the chef is obviously sweating. Great bun. Soft but holds up the all that juicy goodness without getting soggy. The bacon is thick and meaty and delicious, great stuff. The pork was really good and that sauce was fantastic! Eating this behemoth is a drippy, messy adventure in flavor and texture. If it's always this good they're easily in the top 3 burger places in Cincy and I've tried them all. Service. I'm a thirsty guy and I never had to ask for a refill. Any questions were answered quickly. All requests were taken care of right away. Friendly and efficient. If you love burgers and are as sick as I am of all the "gastropub" concepts clogging up the environment I can understand why you might be a bit gun shy about trying Bru. All I can say is do it.
