I was recommended this cafe and at first I was worried about the small menu. However, everything we tried was delicious! Friendly counter service and we opted to sit at the bar. I had the turkey sandwich which is delicious in house made focaccia. My husband had the ham and bean soup with extra bread. The bread is incredible and worth it to stop just down the block at their bakery to take home a loaf. No crumbs were left behind! The egg was fluffy, focaccia bun was delicious, and the prosciutto cotto balanced it out. My Serrano ham toast was yummy as well! The fresh salsa verde was so good! Popped in to Allez cafe today! I got the pumpkin chai latte iced and the chocolate espresso cookie. Both were amazing. The chai was not too sweet or artificial tasting it was bomb and I would definitely get it again. The chocolate cookie had big pieces of flaky salt on it and it was obviously delicious. Fortunately, I ate the Italian sandwich open faced and it was all good. The baguette was even tougher on the Jambone Beurre, but the toppings on the inside were even better. The open faced technique on this sandwich isolated the layer of bread and helped me taste the herby butter that lined it. This hipster-vibed interior and clientele fit the OTR neighborhood. First time there and we walked in and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. Asked us about our day and weekend and answered any questions we had. Noticed that the staff knew many regulars by name and had easy conversations with everyone. The light and airy atmosphere and smell of coffee made it a great atmosphere for others to work. Ordered and sat and got ourselves some water and munched on a biscuit until our coffee and food arrived. The cheddar scallion biscuit was delicious, and the coffee was good, not too sweet. Stumbled upon this low-key gem after making some holiday purchases at nearby Al's Delicious Popcorn and Macron Bar. Corner location with lots of windows letting in the sun. Low key in terms of atmosphere with a very clean minimalist look and in terms of service. We seated ourselves and waited for a good ten minutes before realizing that menus were not coming with the standard glass of water or an explanation of the menu, or any specials. Finally, I went to the front cashier and saw some simple one-page printouts of the menu and asked how ordering worked. (You order at the bar.) Once we got that sorted, a server brought our iced brewed tea and, later, our soup and sandwiches. Water was in a self-service container with glasses at the bar, which we discovered on our own. Many people were working behind the counter, so it was not a lack of service opportunity to greet us and explain how things work. Instead, I think it must be the low-key vibe. Or maybe we were mistaken for regulars that knew the secret code to ordering! Never-the-less, the food was exceptional! Our meals came out quickly and were artisanally presented. I had the Hungarian Sausage soup, which had wonderful, unique flavors with large chunks of spicy sausage and peppers and a dollop of yoghurt. The Cubano sandwich was uniquely flavorful, with a sweet pickle slice instead of the traditional dill. So good! The bread that came with the soup and the Cubano were both phenomenal. While the menu is very small, you should still be able to find something to try for brunch or lunch. Lots of nearby parking on the street and at the Salvation Army around the corner. read more

I stopped in here to get some breakfast before work, and it was so good! The staff are sincerely nice, and they made the best iced london fog I've ever had. I'm really not exaggerating! It was creamy, with balanced lavender and vanilla flavors alongside the taste of the earl grey, and it wasn't overbrewed so the bergamot came out really well; I was very pleased with it. I additionally got their breakfast sammy, which was also amazing. The egg was light and fluffy, not rubbery at all; the cheese was melty, and the ratio of ham to egg to cheese was perfect. Talk about an amazing hidden gem! I had no idea this cute deli was located in the heart of OTR! I tried the turkey sandwich and WOW! It's definitely not just a regular turkey sandwich. The vibes inside the restaurant were so cute and it was very spacious for the OTR area. I ordered the Tomato Pesti and Goat Cheese Pastry and I am sooo obsessed with it. The goat cheese was an amazing addition and I need to go back and get another. I also ordered the Tonka bean latte and ordering it for here in the store was definitely the way to go. It tasted delicious and had the perfect amount of sweetness in store but then found when taking it to go it tasted a bit bitter but that could also be because it was getting towards the end. What a lovely lunch spot! Allez Cafe is warm and bright and has the happiest vibe. Allez Bakery makes the most incredible baked goods and the Cafe uses the items from the Bakery. The menu is small, but it's wonderful. You order at the counter and they give you a table number. The guy who took our order was very nice. There is a self serve water station. I ordered a turkey pesto sandwich on focaccia and a bowl of potato soup. The soup also came with crusty bread for dipping in the broth. Everything was 6/5 stars. It would take approximately zero convincing to get me to eat here again! The bathroom is "all gender" and decorated super cute. Parking is pretty easy to find on nearby streets. read more

Finally got around to trying the new cafe from Allez Bakery that opened at the former Platform Brewing on Main St. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and a latte and both were perfect. Breakfast sandwich was a giant egg (or perhaps eggs) on a focaccia roll with fontina cheese and ham. Extremely filling and well worth the price at only $8! Latte was also very flavorful even without adding any extra flavorings (e.g. caramel, hazelnut, etc.). Definitely will be coming back! read more

I walked into Allez Cafe in the midst of my Saturday morning walk. The atmosphere was nice, the door was open to let in the subtle breeze of the early morning from what has been a hot summer. the smell of coffee tickled your nose, inviting you in. As I walked in, guest enjoyed breads, coffee and pastries from the partner bakery. The cashier was happily assisting what looked to be frequent guest with friendly conversation. After the couple said their goodbyes, I approached the counter and was greeted by the cashier. We exchanged hellos, and I proceeded to pick up a menu. As I picked up the menu, the cashier proceeded to help customers at the counter. I stood there for about 45 seconds scanning the menu, as the cashier continued to help others. After receiving no additional assistance, I decided to finish my walk. Maybe in the future, one could receive additional services. I hope to try their products soon. read more

I came for breakfast during opening week and let's start by saying the space is open and airy and beautiful. There is ample seating though it gets busy fast - looking forward to some patio action once it gets warmer! The entire team was working their butts off and still working out all the kinks that come with a new venture and new staff; all of that considered, service was fast! And, obviously, the food was perfection. My mom got the mascarpone toast and I had the breakfast sammy. The ham was divine, as always. And the bread was phenomenal (duh). Portions were on par with the price but once they get their feet under them I hope they have an option to add a simple side salad or fruit cup or... something. I'm fat, I was still hungry. Though, I am confident that lunch potions are perfect and I will be back for lunch!!! If you haven't had the lunch sammys... look, all I can say that EVERY SINGLE TIME WITHOUT FAIL my eyes well up with tears of bliss and gratitude. There is not a better sammy.
