    Acai Bowl

Being so close to Sweet Green, this little pocket of Market street has the potential of doing a considerable amount of damage to my wallet, and from my experience here it may just be on its way to doing that. I was a bit taken aback when the teammember behind the counter continued to text instead of tending to me, and in lieu of a friendly greeting finally looked up upon finished on their phone to ask "you ready to order". Maybe I've gotten a little too used to southern hospitality, but they seemed much friendlier after I left a tip? I hope they didn't assume I wouldn't tip! Anyways I was told about their free membership which I signed up for on spot to receive my complimentary shot (I chose the gut instinct and it was delicious)! I also ordered an acai bowl adding bee pollen and coconut flakes. The acai mix itself was different from any I've tried, super thick and much more milky than tart, it most closely resembled a smoothie. Not my personal thing but worth a try! I was also told I could try any flavor of juice after struggling and eventually choosing my complimentary shot flavor. While I wish I was told WHEN struggling to decide, I'll hold that info for a future visit! As I ate my lunch in peace I was happy to see freeze options on the menu (I assume they're similar to froyo), and a dog bowl full of water sitting outside of the shop. All and all while I think the customer service needs quite a bit of improvement, they have alot to offer (and I have much more to try!)

Came by on a Sunday evening for a sweet treat post-dinner at the nearby Flower Child. After waiting almost 15 minutes for a family to sample over 10 juices and make a selection for $70 worth of juice, I finally got to get a small-size soft-serve that began to melt immediately upon landing in my hand, lol! I ended up getting the vanilla-flavored soft serve topped with almond butter sauce, vegan gummy bears, and vegan marshmallows. Looking back, I wouldn't added gummy bears to this combo because the their texture became stiff and less chewy when topped on the cold soft serve. I did like the almond butter sauce though! With summer now here in full force, having a Pressed Juicery nearby can be a relief, if service is prompt and if the soft serve is as cold as possible.

Takes the work out of juicing, and for all my fellow juicers you know how grand a task like that can be. From buying the fruit and veggies to slicing and dicing, removing the seeds if necessary al the way down to the clean-up process. With all that being said Pressed does a great job in it modern simplistic marketing. It keeps everything simple and in my humble opinion, they are super cost-effective, compared to juicing at home. I've seen others complain about the acai bowl but these bowls are great to say that they lack your traditional refined sugars. I'll be back again for sure. The beet juice taste just as bad as it does when I juice them lol.

Pressed is a juice bar with all the essentials (juice, açaí, shots, even soft serve). I really enjoyed the açaí bowls. They were really filling, fresh, and tasty. I especially enjoyed the granola topping. The soft serve was only ok which is the reason for the 4-stars. It looked pretty but tasted a bit like protein powder. If you come here, I'd definitely recommend the açaí bowl but the soft serve may be a hit or miss.

Very nice if you're looking for GF no sugar added cold dessert. Don't expect ice cream, it's very different. Toppings add a lot.

You will not be able to find a piece of lint on the floor. Also very friendly and shared a ton of interesting stories! I remembered maybe 10ish years ago acai bowls were in trend. Then it faded? I never tried it while it was in trend because I was a college student and it was one of those moments where you decide to spend $12 on a protein/carb/veggie meal or on an acai bowl that will hopefully keep you full until your next meal. Fast forward and I'm still not in my career yet lol. Making residency salary and having this is moreso as a treat. It's sort of a healthier way to look at dessert? Thicker than a smoothie. Not sweet like Gelato. Can alter it to have higher protein or sweetier depending on what you choose. There are a lot of options and fiber rich. The presentation is pretty. I do think you have to be in the mood for this. My friend loves acai bowls. Me? It's not something I would crave but I'll be down to have it again if my friend wanted it.

There were shops popping up on every corner, and while I always loved acai bowls, they were pretty much the same no matter where you went. And after leaning pretty hard into this trend for a while, I reached acai over-saturation. Fast forward to recent times and I was excited to check out Nautical Bowls when it opened. The menu looked pretty unique, and it had been quite a while since my last bowl. Each weekend would come and go and I would still manage to not stop in. Today, I was sitting on the couch about to doze off. I had two choices: give into the nap Gods, and probably set myself up for a poor night of sleep ahead, or get up and finally make that trip to Nautical Bowls. I chose the latter, and as I mentioned above, I'm so glad I did. I walked in and stared at the menu for an awkwardly long time. Each item looked appealing and it seemed like they were all only 1-2 ingredients different from the last. I considered even building my own, but that thought was fleeting. Let's just roll with one of the chosen items. There's always a future visit where we can get crazy with something custom. So I went with the Blue Bay Bowl: Blue Majik, Açaí, Coconut, Spirulina Chia, Granola, Banana, Strawberries, Coconut Butter Crumbles. I asked what Blue Majik and Spirulina were: I was told both had a coconut cream flavor. I was also told Spirulina was an algae. That almost swayed me away, but I didn't want to be a basic b. Algae, you say? I aint scared. It turns out, this bowl met every single aspect of the fantasy I had in my head when I was debating between taking a nap and coming here. It was amazing. Every bite. It definitely was not your grandmother's acai bowl, either. There was a lot going on and I loved every aspect of it. And as promised, there was no shortage of coconut cream. I will absolutely be back because I want to try pretty much everything on the menu. Welcome to the 'hood, Nautical Bowls!

They purposely leave a skeleton crew of a single teenager, informed them that it is their policy to NEVER accept returns or complaints. If you ask them to make an Açaí Bowl, they will hand you a bowl of white yogurt base with random fruits available mixed in. If you tell them there is no Acai in the base since it is white and not PURPLE, they will threaten to call the police. If you ask them to blend it again, they will say their blenders blades are too dull for a different result. They don't answer the phone. Essentially the new owner came in, purchased the location, and is trying to extract all profit possible before shuttering it and closing it permanently. The touch screens are DIRTY AND STICKY. The surfaces of their work area are absolutely filthy with sticky residue from never being cleaned. And all the while the OWNER/MANAGER is making one single teenager figure it all out. They're basically paying them minimum wage to deal with all the complaints due to BAD MANAGEMENT.
