I contacted Prestige locksmith based on there 5 star ratings on Yelp. I needed a single lock changed on the front door of my house. The gentleman who answered right away said the tech could be at my house in half an hour and probably would not have to change the lock, but just rekey it. It actually took more like 1.5 hrs for the tech to arrive, but that still was excellent service in my opinion. The cost to change the key included 4 new keys. I asked if I could get five and tech nicely gave me five keys instead at no extra charge which I really appreciated. From first call to having this job completed took about only 2 hours. I locked myself out of my apartment around 11:00 p.m. (Ya, stupid me.) After being informed that my new management company "doesn't do lockouts" and that I would have to call at locksmith at my own expense, I called Prestige Locksmiths. The person on the phone was friendly and sent his technician, Eran from Continental Locks. Eran arrived in a timely fashion and was able to open my door, after banging on a key with a screwdriver very loudly several times (I'm surprised that none of my neighbors came out to see what was going on). Besides time, the total cost for my absentminded mistake: $100. This was my first time using a locksmith, so I don't know if my experience was typical or not. However, with all of the five-star reviews, I was a little surprised by the steep price. In addition, I wasn't allowed to use the Yelp deal. Eran said that the Yelp deal doesn't apply to emergency situations and that it states that on the website (can someone show me where?). I hope this review is not helpful for you because I hope you are never in a situation like this. Yet, if you find yourself in such a situation, expect to pay a pretty penny. read more

I would've been without a car during the weekend because I lost my only key. I called the dealership, but they said the locksmiths were not in. I was freaking out and stumbled across prestige locksmith. I called them right after calling the dealership and the guy who answered the phone gave me a flat rate of $325 for my car key. The only thing is that they told me they were going to be arriving in an hour to my place but it took them an hour. Overall I got my key and was able to drive my car to work that same day.
