The absolute worse experience of my life. The packers were impersonal and did not interact with me (although I was in the apartment all day) so that I never noticed that they packed all of my prescription medication. When I complained, I was made to feel like an idiot (which is probably true) but an apology might have been nice (who packs vials that are clearly prescriptions?) The move took the maximum number of days which would have been OK had not my daughter used the same company and although their things were packed and shipped two weeks later, they arrive in California BEFORE mine. I had to call and complain and all of a sudden they arrived the next day costing me two full weeks of pay. Although I had been promised by Prestige that my furniture would be reassembled upon arrival, the actual movers said that was a dream and refused to do it. When I complained to Prestige they gave me a big run around and finally said someone could come and do it. I said "never mind" and did it myself, wanting to go back to normal as soon as I could. But the very worse thing of all was that when I went to look for my holiday decorations, the box was missing. The rest of the things that were in that room were there, this was a small box with treasured ornaments including one of my deceased husband and memories that can't be replaced. I was told that I "should have made a claim" earlier and while they supposedly looked I got a very rude note saying that they could not find my stuff. All in all, this has resulted in a heartbreaking holiday season and I am very, very sorry that I used this company. I had used Allied Van Lines before but, even though I plan another big move in the next year I will not only stay away from them but make it my business to make sure that no one I know gives them any business. Take my advice, stay away from this place, and most of all, avoid Allied Van Lines and anyone that uses them. read more

Where do I even begin? I definitely can't name one thing that went anywhere near well in my experience with this company. I wish they'd be put out of business. My point of contact starting being really inappropriate to the point that he asked me for pictures (selfies). I had to contact management because I was so uncomfortable and in shock. The owner fought with me over a matter of hours when my things would be moved into my new residence in Nashville, said they were very busy, it was a total nightmare. The way they loaded my things caused for many irreplaceable items to be shattered when I unpacked them, my boxes that were clearly marked as fragile were placed on bottom and the boxes were crushed. Most of my large, expensive pieces of furniture have dings and gashes in them. In the end, the owner Dave, simply gave me the number to his claims person. They did not make anything right and left me emotionally drained and sad in my new place as I put my house together. This move cost me over $7,000 and yes, I paid full price. Shame. DO NOT USE PRESTIGE. If they said it's the movers that they use who are at fault, they are lying. I would not trust the good reviews. read more

Worst experience I have ever had moving across country. Let me preface this with two things: 1 my wife is 38 weeks pregnant, 2 I have used Allied Van Lines for 6 cross country moves. They are unable to honor their commitments. Given my wife's pregnancy timing of our pickup and delivery was much more important than cost. The shipping commitment was the sole reason why we chose Allied/Prestige even though they were the more expensive option. I was first called by Jennie at Prestige to see if I was available for a 10/1 Saturday. I said that would be great! Upon pickup of our belongings on 9/23 I was told by the driver that the soonest he could deliver was 10/9, over a week later and outside the delivery window. He then made several calls and told me it would be 10:7z After pressing him with our situation, he told me that he was able to move deliveries around and be in Dallas on 10/3. I then took the day off work, and planned my work travel accordingly. By that weekend the delivery had changed to 10/5, and now as of 10/3 it is 10/6. Throughout this time Barry Larsen at Prestige was the last to know of any changes. Due to the repeated changes the uncrating company was reaching out to me daily for updates. What is the point of hiring a service if you have to perform your own logistics? The Prestige team has so far been either unable to plan or execute organizing my move in anyway without my personal intervention. I am now stuck in a situation where my 38 week pregnant wife will be home with the movers by herself. I have never dealt with such incompetence with logistics in my 22 years in the manufacturing/logistics industry. I will never use Allied again, and strongly encourage you to avoid them. Hired Allied, which Prestige is affiliated with, for a cross country move from Oregon to Maine. Pick up date was 7/27/22 in Oregon and delivery was 9/1/22 in Maine. The booking agent in Maine selected Prestige as the origin agent for the job. In addition to loosing 25%-30% of my belongings, Prestige successfully damaged almost all of my furnishings. They not only took no care to properly protect the items during transport, it's clear they actively engaged in the destruction of them. My white upholstered bed looks like a mechanic handled it, and then lifted it with a fork lift, dropped it, and then proceeded to drag it across the warehouse floor for good measure. I had an ivory white chair, it's now a different color. Almost like someone set it behind an exhaust pipe and left it there for a while. For the cherry on top, they also stained some of it orange. All three of the office desks shipped sustained damage. Leather furniture is stretched/impacted/scratched. Boxes marked fragile were caved in. I was billed for additional weight that they claim existed, but it's hard to understand since I'm fairly sure multiple other households' items were sent to me, mixed in with some of my own. When I tried to call Prestige to let them know about a key tote that is missing (as directed by the booking agent), the Prestige representative essentially refused to speak to me. They tried to claim that they had no way to see any record of my move and that they weren't making any money from it, my booking agent was. I pushed back about the fact that it's hard to believe that they sent employees/contracted individuals to my home, took my things, had them at their warehouse and supposedly had no record of such work but also did it for free. Allied billed my credit card $17,000 before delivering my items, which means you pay before you see the outcome of the "service" provided. There was no way to know that so much was missing or destroyed. I was billed for transportation of belongings that were never even sent to me, which means I was, at minimum, overbilled. When I tried to dispute the situation, I was told that it is against federal law to charge me less than the original amount. So, in theory, I have to be treated this poorly- it's the law. Do yourself a favor, get ALL the insurance (your renters/homeowners will not protect you unless the transport vehicle was t-boned) and shop around. Ask all the questions and do not accept an inventory list that's simply presented for your signature. You have to teach the movers how to do their job, because... you're paying for it no matter what happens and their negligence is apparently meaningless. I'm not trying to sound that condescending, it's essentially what I've now been told. (The Prestige movers made an inventory list that consists mostly of lines through the description section, and not everything was labeled with an inventory sticker, which is just a 3-digit number on a sticker. So there's no proper record of what they did or did not damage/deliver and no effective way to figure out what household a random box/item belongs to, should it pop up in someone else's container of goods. If someone finds one of my boxes, they will have no way to link that to my registration number which is the equivalent of an order number.) I learned the very hard way but want to save the next person tens of thousands of dollars and a lot of headaches. You're fully relying on the local affiliate groups and what they determine to be "professional" behavior. Prestige and Allied have a definition that severely misses the mark. We moved a large household with Prestige in a regional move almost 3 years ago now and admittedly are just getting around to this review. Regional means because it was under about 500 miles. So they advised us that their national agreement stipulates that they supply local staff and arrange for their own (leased) trucks for all parts of the move instead of national (Allied) drivers and trucks coming in. The truck work and truck packing was generally very good, the better part of the move. Some other parts of the move were also done OK, but the packing job and the overall complexity of the move I think just eventually overwhelmed the capabilities of this company and the overall attitude by unloading time was not good. One early warning about the packers should have been when I had to run outside carrying a stack of burning packing paper they set on fire! This happened when a packer stacked packing paper on our stove and then inadvertently turned on a stovetop burner! Again, much of the work overall was OK, but a couple of the packers (there were as many as 6 or 7 over several days ) just did ridiculous and careless packing that was not apparent at the time since we could not be in every room when the packing was happening. We had a lot of papers, books, equipment and small items. So we ended up with issues like bent book covers, scratched items. Food ended up being packed with books! There was a packer claiming they were totally experienced with hifi gear and then wedging a $1000 LP turntable on its end into a 4.5 cu ft. box next to other equipment - and so damaging the plexi cover and mechanism. Glass and China was packed well with no problems. But then we still don't know why this set of movers insisted on removing everything from all the drawers, resulting in lots of damaged photos and small personal items. We have moved several times over a period of 30 years and never had movers who forced us to remove all drawer contents. This upped the box count as well. Again, some items were packed very well but a couple of the packers seemed to resent the time it was taking late in the pack and they seemed to have just started stuffing things into boxes that were over packed by weight and a lot of small items were damaged. Interestingly some of the best were the young packers, including one couple- and the worst seemed to be 'the old hands' who were constantly out of sorts. Then there is the whole issue that we chose the price quote option for a guaranteed price which after realizing the real scope of the move , Prestige then said they would not honor. This problem was mostly because the the estimator - a member of the executive staff of the company - chose not to climb the pull down ladder and look into an attic space and did not see everything in a storage shed . Years later we still unpack a few last boxes and find some excellently packed - but some packed so poorly that valuable items were damaged because they were tossed in with no wrapping -- again this must have been just one or two of the packers who perhaps were angry with us or tired at the end? The independent local driver was a frequent associate of the company and did OK though he was distracted with a lot of phone calls at first - -apparently relating to truck or financial matters or his own fixed price deal with Prestige. So we can say in fairness that perhaps the size of our move seemed to overwhelm the capabilities of Prestige. From past moves, we also definitely feel that their packing would benefit greatly from having some women in on the packing - as a couple of their men showed themselves in the end to just be sloppy and angry and perhaps a bit typically careless to be handling personal and valuable items. This all in the end left us unhappy - and overshadowed any other good work done by most others in this move. The size of our move was definitely a problem factor for Prestige - so if you are looking for a "white gloves" style move of a large household instead of smaller moves -- perhaps you want to choose carefully between this and other movers. read more

5 STARS TO THESE 2; Luis & Sierra our packers were wonderful. Right from the start they introduced themselves. Very efficient, friendly & communicating very well with me. They both worked great as a team. I highly recommend both of them. 1 Star to the pick up team. They pretty much sucked! But then the driver & his team showed up the next day; I felt like our stuff was tossed on the truck, paper work was rushed the driver was on the phone most of the time. Then they left stuff behind putting things away, ready to leave... whoa still 2 tv's and a queen box springs? who leaves this behind when it's your job? The one guy wanted to load tvs in his personal mini van- very unprofessional. Thinking that they had everything, they left purposely shutting the storage shed with outdoor table left behind!!! MAD. Needless to say they had to turn back around 1 hour later and pick it up! 4 stars to the delivery driver; The driver on delivery was awesome!!!! and his crew was just okay! lol. when it came time to putting our stuff back together... because they take everything apart! They (the 2?helpers) sucked at it, really didn't care! and the helpers didn't have a box knife, borrowed my husband nice one, and of course walked away with it!! read more

The person who visited to provide the initial estimate was very supportive and responsive. The actual pack and move was disastrous. I have had my job move me at least 3 times and each was great but this was the worst experience ever. They were not friendly and communicative. I requested several times not to move boxes into the closet but they still did, like 12 big boxes. The carpet is white and now its dirty. We had 3 packers that simply took TOO long when we had already packed most/purge of belongings. It should have taken 2 hrs or 3 the most. They spent 10 hrs. I rather pay extra just to get them to pack and move. I will not be using Prestige in the future. read more

Things were lost in the moving process. Had to wait for a second shipment of items (some being essential) to come. Some thinks came cracked and chipped or pieces missing from things like desk chair wheels. Things were carelessly dumped (and I mean dumped) into boxes. Didn't seem to care about anything they were moving. Not at all a fan. Very disorganized and a lot of things for multiple rooms were put together in the same box making it more of a process to unpack. I don't recommend this company. read more

It's been a long few months dealing with these guys but the nightmare is over. I'll go through the issues. 1- I understand that getting a delivery estimate is just that: an estimate. But I specifically asked that my stuff be delivered before a specific date. I said they could deliver a week early if need be but it cannot be late. And on the last possible day I could get my stuff, I get the call. It's not coming today. Amazing. Even better, my agent blamed the truck breaking down. But when my driver arrived, he said that was false, that he'd been given a different delivery window than the one my agent promised. 2- a bunch of broken things. All coming in just under the deductible of course. 3- My driver accidentally gave me items for another client. I had to haul them to UPS and mail them myself. 4- And he forgot six boxes, plus an air conditioner. He sent them about 10 days later, and with the wear of the move and then being sent via UPS, each box came fairly destroyed. Haven't gotten the air conditioner to work yet. (It wasn't meant to be sent in the mail.) I know moving sucks. But these guys made it so much worse. read more

I understand moving things across country can be a nightmare and many things can go wrong. I do. I assumed some things would be damaged due to the long trek on a truck (moved from Oregon to North Carolina) but I never suspected our shipment would be delayed for about a month and that I'd be missing four boxes on top of damages. Upon arrival of my shipment, the driver seemed very rushed since he wanted to get the entire trip over and done with which I didn't blame him since it was hot and we were the last stop of his delivery. The movers who unloaded the truck were very nice and helpful but I wasn't impressed with the driver nor the guys he raved about whom packed my stuff. When I discovered the first damaged item at the time (end table/cabinet), one of the guys made sure to inform me to show it to the driver so he could make a note of it. For some reason my computer and peripherals were handled very poorly. My case was just folded up in a packing blanket which, of course, during transit made some of the front panels loose and either bent or popped out. My monitors were in boxes without cushioning so they ended up scratched. My peripherals were unplugged from the system but the cords were then just rolled up around the pieces so that I had multiple ports bent from the strain. My keyboard cord was completely ripped out. When I showed the driver the end table damage (the computer parts were found later), he poked at it and then told me I could just glue it back together because _if I reported it, he would have to pay for it_. Really? He then rushed me through all the paperwork and afterwards I noticed he didn't really do much in the way of keeping track of the boxes since nothing was marked on the invoices (each item has a number sticker on it which he should have been checking off). They are supposed to put together any pieces of furniture they take apart for the move. Which they did. Kind of. The couch and dining table were okay but the office desks were mangled beyond repair. We have two L desks and they managed to bend and warp the keyboard trays and force metal supports to screw into the wrong holes, stripping the screws in the process. More things to have to mark as damaged for the insurance claim. During the long process of unpacking (because I am pregnant and all sorts of stuff that takes core muscles is twice as difficult), it was discovered that more things were damaged and four boxes were missing completely. When the claim offer was received, they decided on an amount that barely went over the deductible (of course) and that they are not responsible for the four missing boxes at all. Which is highly entertaining since we pointed out to the claims guy that one of the items missing (a wifi smart scale) is still being synced by someone who is using it. I assume in the driver's rush to finish that day, he likely unloaded it to the people right before us, especially since he did not keep track of box numbers or even pay attention to the family name labeled on them. So, after they told us first, "Oh, well, we're not responsible for things that we didn't pack," and we told them that was false since we weren't even there (we had a relative supervise since we already had to be at our new destination) and the service packed everything for us, they decided that since the driver said everything was delivered, that it wasn't their problem. So! Now we get to file a police report and make it known that Prestige/Allied were the last people in contact with the stolen items. ------------------------------------------------- TL;DR --- We put our trust in them to handle and ship our possessions and the screwed us over. Driver weeks late for delivery and tried to push me to not claim damages because "he would have to pay for it". Poorly-packed items and four missing boxes which they refuse to take responsibility for. read more

Sierra and Tyler showed up on time, worked efficiently, and were very careful with my belongings. I have moved ten times since 2006 and they were one of the best crews I ever worked with. Dishonest, but great price, professional and curtious movers. I have a quote in a email that says my move was a flat rate which I was very happy with and the agreement was to pack , move, and unload my whole house for under 1000, but when it came to my kitchen he refused to pack it even though that was the agreement. My husband deployed within 48 hours and instead if spending time together we spent it packing our kitchen. I did say I might pack some of the kitchen up but this was after we agreed to the terms and conditions, when I discussed it with my husband we decided against it to be able to use the kitchen till we left and spend more time togeather, but again this was me telling him I might, it was not part of the agreement, and it's not in my digital quote so when he said that I told him I would and that he was going to charge extra and then later said flat out he wasn't going to me and my husband and his family there to see him off were pretty irritated. If he thought he should have charged me more then don't quote me a low number just to try to weasle your way out of work. I would have still chose this company even if they quoted me 1200, so I will not be useing them when I move back and do not recommend for others. He went the extra mile and delivered free boxes and packing paper to my doorstep the following week. I understand that the moving company charges by hour, Prestige Moving really shows me how they " earned " these hours by cheating their customers. 1) the moving truck was so old that didn't even have the auto lift which attahced to the truck. 2 movers had to walk on a slope to load and unload. 2) One mover took care of paper work, it took him almost 30 minutes at beginning and end, so total 60 minutes I paid for had nothing to do with the moving. 2nd mover was just roaming around the house without doing anything during the paper work process. 3) 2 movers liked chatting with you, of course, they would stop movement and just chatted with you. We had to stop them and reminded them " time is money " . My total experience with this company is the worst ever. 3 hours moving load became 5 hours. I paid extra $ 230.00. This was my first time moving using a moving company and I was impressed by the service I received. I moved from San Francisco to Portland. In particular, our driver Tom chose excellent guys to move our stuff and organized using a shuttle seamlessly. Tom was efficient and pleasant to work with. He was also great at exceeding our expectations with respect to setting a timeframe. Kory on the office side was also great at setting expectations. I do wish that the team sent to pack my house (an affiliate of the Allied network, Nor-Cal Moving) did a better job labeling and packing, but that was not under Prestige's control and is not reflected in this rating. Overall, very few items were damaged (a couple cheap clay pots and cheap plastic chairs). My antique TV stand that was already falling apart that I bet money would not survive the move - totally made it without a scratch. All our glassware and dishes made it too. I'm 100% certain that if I had packed and moved myself, a lot more things would have gotten banged up and broken. Tom even kept on asking if we wanted any furniture put in a particular place when we arrived at the house and was very customer service oriented. He didn't want the movers to leave unless we were completely satisfied with how the furniture had been put back together and where it was placed. read more

Prestige handled our long distance move from Portland to northern CA. Barry was our contact and could not have been more accommodating. I am one of those people who ask a gazillionty questions, mostly one at a time and he never lost patience and always answered quickly. The quote was reasonable and beat out a lot of other big companies who actually told us our move was too small for them. I appreciated that our small household mattered to Prestige just as much as if it were a huge move. Troy and Dennis packed everything so well not one thing was broken or shifted in the boxes upon arrival. All of our furniture was shrink-wrapped and then blanketed so nothing was damaged at all. The driver (Corey from Allied) arrived on time to load and arrived right on time to unload and everyone helping with that process was exceptionally nice, polite, and great at handling all of our stuff. We've been through so many moves that were not handled this effortlessly, we knew that a lot of good planning made this move seems effortless. About a week ago we had a guy named Monty come out to give us an estimate. Prestige is affiliated with Allied, who we used to move us from Chicago to Portland in November 2009. Minus our car, our move with Allied out to Portland cost us $4300. Since then we have downsized quite a bit, essentially getting rid of a guest bedroom, massive living room couch, and large dining room table set. And those are just the large furniture items we no longer have, we also got rid of boxes of other stuff in preparation for this move. Now I'm not saying we don't still have a lot of stuff, but I'd say we have 40% less stuff than we had when we moved out. Prestige's quote for us to move to San Diego came in $300 more than the first move. A lot less stuff, a lot less distance to travel. So what gives? Have fuel prices shot up that dramatically? We emailed the estimator a copy of our first invoice and asked him to explain the dramatic increase. That was a week ago and we've heard nothing back. I can only surmise that he was attempting to rip us off and we called him on it. Obviously we won't be using these guys. read more

No one showed up for the in-home estimate scheduled for today. My husband and I took time out of our day to be here for it, and no one came. I called the toll-free #, and they gave me the local Oregon #. The woman who answered said I did not have an appointment in her computer for today. We had been called and given that appt by the moving company. I told her that if the company is this disorganized before the move, I don't know if I can trust them with our move. In response, she hung up on me!!! I then called the toll-free number again, and the man I spoke with confirmed that we did in fact have the appt in the computer, and he told me to hold while he contacted the local people. Horrible move. Lied about time of delivery to get contract, lied about time of delivery when in contract, NEVER returned calls about delivery - for 3 week waiting.. hid behind ALLIED - whom also is horrible on communications. Delivery was 2 days past 'rider' they have in their contract and compensation for time (14 days after promised); expenses accumulated during the wait and lack of delivery was pathetic. Do not use Prestige Moving & Storage for an international move - ever!!! We made the mistake of believing we were paying for a premium level of service to ensure we would get a high level of care and expertise for the contents of our home of 20 years in our move to Sydney Australia. WRONG! Prestige were NOT the least expensive quote we received, but on the assurances of the sales rep - regrettably we went with them. In terms of shipping costs - our quotes and invoices had NO costs listed for arrival in Australia - so the local receiving shipper costs were not included, estimated or noted as an additional set of fees - above and beyond customs and quarantine which we knew to expect. Apart from this lack of comprehensive cost estimation and information there is a huge quality control problem with Prestige Moving based on the lack of management, standards, and expertise in oversight of how containers are packed. While the workers who packed our house were hard-working and ernest men - they apparently had NO training or guidance or standards in how they treated our items. On arrival in Sydney we had feedback from the receiving company to advise that our container was remarkable in how badly it had been packed. On delivery day we found 3 large items of furniture that had been significantly damaged and cannot be used. One set of lacquer drawers had been exposed to rain or water and the lacquer had peeled back off the wood backing. All three items had been cracked, dented and scratched to the point where the damage cannot be glued or refinished. These items have to be dumped. Thankfully we did not skimp on crating and paid a separate vendor to come and crate two large antique pieces and two pieces of glass art - all of which arrived intact despite Prestige Moving. On a more general note - we had some artwork which had been wrapped in padded paper and boxed which survived well, and others which were wrapped in two layers of paper and dumped in with large furniture - I am paying to have these re-stretched and reframed - but completely inconsistent standard of packing for identical items. Some fine some completely negligent. Carpets - a woven silk sumac that was rolled and duct taped directly onto the silk fabric!!! Of all of our oriental carpets - 6 had been duct taped directly on to fabric - and one had been wrapped in padded packing paper and then duct taped - properly and with care for the fabric. Completely inconsistent standards for the same items. It took us up to 30 minutes in a frantic delivery day to prise each thread stuck to duct tape off each of the carpets. Antique Chinese Lacquer furniture had been duct-taped directly onto the lacquer - and yes the lacquer was taken off by the duct-tape. High-end china dinner-ware had been packed together in stacks of 6 to 8 plates with no paper or padding between each dish - just shoved paper around the whole pack and thrown it in a box. There were some huge Dishpack boxes that contained only 3 small items, and some that were so overfull of fragile ceramics the delivery team could barely lift them. It gives us no pleasure to post this review, and it should reflect on the management of this company. It has been so disappointing to start our new life in another country with huge damaged items stacked in our house and on the front porch. To add to the frustration the insurance claims company which commits to responding to claim within 3 to 5 days, is now 11 days out with no definitive response. We are waiting for our new landlord to call and complain about the junk on our front porch. International shipping and moving is NOT an area of expertise for Prestige Moving. read more

This is the second time I have used Prestige Moving and they were wonderful. They were timely, professional, and easy to work with. They quoted me a price and that was consistent with the final bill I paid. They were timely and my items were delivered even more quickly than expected! The driver was very nice and called me with updates. I would definitely use them and Allied again! read more

I just experienced my 6th and largest local move with Prestige. My first move was 15 years ago from a small studio apartment, my most recent move was from a 2800 sq ft 4 bedroom home. I had consistent excellent service every time. The crew was always polite, professional, and efficient, taking great care in protecting my items and home. The office staff was awesome to work with setting up the move, too. Everyone made the process as easy and stress-free as possible.
