Update: 50% refund…read more Yeah, don't go with these guys. i had specific instructions for my move both to the rep on the phone (xavier he's great) and to them directly. all were not really cared for properly. I should have just gotten my friends and a uhaul to move, but i was promised it would take 5hrs. i was billed 5.5hrs. tip top of the money i had left. and they didn't even have time to move everything. why? because their recklessness with my things i didn't want them carrying my computer monitors. they were hired to pack and move stuff across portland. they came at 1:30 when they said only to tell me that they didn't know they needed all the packing stuff. they eventually arrived nearly 2hrs later and towards the END Of the original window i was promised without any 'hey we will be there at this ETA' they said they got stuck behind a train, which is fine i guess? but no update after that until i called and complained, which got me a 5% discount, which is nice i guess? but like everything that happened after were MASSIVE red flags, both for the computer and the 'movers' which felt like contractors they just hired for whatever without properly vetting. i had a small move, 2 rooms. they were the slowest movers and most reckless movers i've ever hired. but i don't really blame them fully for that. supposedly they were working since 8am and just drove up from salem or something. they didn't even eat lunch. is that even legal?! no wonder they came to the door exhausted already and out of it. These 2 guys did the best they could, but honestly with how exhausted I was from helping them (something i SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO DO), they were doing a good job, but that doesn't really matter. In the end this guy ruined my $2000 custom built standing desk for music. not sure if i can get it repaired or fixed. he undid it and said he will put it back together. it was pretty easy just a few bolts into the joints between the wooden top and the legs and putting on the keyboard tray. easy stuff for the most part (when you have a drill, i don't own one). this guy didn't even look at where he was drilling or understand how the desk was put together after showing him specific things. he just drilled in the bolts and they hit a part that they're supposed to go into but was put in backwards making it impossible (on purpose) to get the screw in. this guy just kept drilling harder and harder and when i asked him about it he was like yeah it's supposed to sound like that. He either was so exhausted he couldn't think straight or just took on tasks he could have said 'yeah i don't know how to do that, can you do it?' either way now i have a broken desk that's only partially built and put together. i am really glad i moved all of my expensive stuff to my place with a friend last weekend, because they definitely would have broken a lot of very expensive things! I also gave them a mattress cover to put on the mattress, and they struggled doing that. You are movers wtf?! i zipped it up about half way and moved on. Then when we got to my new place they didn't even use it and put the mattress on the pavement to get a better angle or something. like what was the point in bringing it?! They also dropped a bunch of precious memories i had in a bin in a bin, they said they took them out because the outer bin couldn't close (bs). They were holding it open wrapped around their arm and i asked them to close it as it doesn't look secure and he said it would be fine, then immediately drops it with pictures and papers dropping on the ground and getting dirty. Anyway this all just happened. and there's no way I can live in my new place due to the lack of time they afforded to me to actually place things in the right spot. At least my bed is in the right spot. luckily for now i am in a short term rental because my last place had mold and why I am moving. i am highly allergic and being there as long as i did, both to wait for them to show up and how slowly they worked on loading the truck, I am feeling sick again because of it. The estimate was low balled to say the least because these guys move at a snails pace because this company overworks them and treats likely their staff like crap. these are probably more desperate people looking for an easy pay day. one guy was like 'i worked 4 days this month' and the other one worked 6 days in a row. a 12 hr day without a break outside of driving (which isn't a break) isn't really fair or legal? I paid nearly 1k for this move, and you can't afford to give these people a proper break between moves? I'm sure they weren't making nearly enough either. Lastly they pressured me to sign a thing at the end of the receipt that says everything was delivered intact, which i didn't sign. Anyway go with another company, not worth the risk. I didn't have another weekend to do this move as i need to have a livable space and that takes time as well. Anyway the movers were careless, slow, expensive, and ignored instructions.

The items moved were simply: A large dresser, a queen sized bed they disassembled and put back together, a night stand, an entry table, a freestanding coat rack, two paintings and a mirror. No boxes. The damage they inflicted from their carelessness in such a short period of time was breathtaking. I've added photos of where they just dragged the dresser out without taped drawers and they all came out and one carved a significant slash into the wall. A small desk was left with new scratches on it as well. Upon reassembly of the bed they split the wood along the exterior of the side panel. I've attached some photos of damage and receipt where he wrote in "CASH!!! " and made the total $100 more. The company did not charge me this. He just rage wrote it. There were two movers. The lead one clearly hates his job, myself or both and let that be known upon arrival. I accepted the move before they left because I was not about to complain to someone this angry. The only reason I checked the receipt was because he called to tell me that the moving company didn't save my payment method and he needed it. I thought this was odd and told him i didn't have the credit card on me and would call the main office. This all turned out to be false because I was promptly charged the proper amount . Next move I will personally wrap the furniture better and choose anywhere else.

They rudely took pics of my apartment, then went and sat back in their truck. After about 20 minutes, the guys came out and said they couldn't do the move because it was "unsafe". Prior to that it was because I had too many small items, and in between that I was told it was because I asked for 3 hours and they'd need 7-9 hours. I called dispatch again and told Karina she sent me two racist movers. She claimed that couldn't be. I explained my stance and she said she'd call me back. Meanwhile, I have no way to move my stuff. Karina said she would talk with her moving team and call me back. Guess what? She never did. I guess you get great service when you have the right skin color. When I let them know, they denied it and said that it was already broken and I couldn't prove otherwise. I had before and after move pictures to prove it. They finally agreed to pay $30 for a $365 coffee table. It doesn't matter what they break, it is 60 cents per pound for their commitment to care for your items. I never did receive a check, paid to have it moved and now I will have to pay to take it to the garbage drop site. Also, at the end of the move I was put on the spot to give a tip.

She was responsive, quick to offer packing help, showed up early to my grandma's apartment (THE VERY NEXT DAY), brought extra packing supplies just in case, was highly knowledgeable and creative and hustled her butt off while the three of us packed up the entire apartment in 4 hours! I can't say enough kind words about Kaylinn and the moving company she partners with - they became lifesavers when life was throwing some pretty fast curve balls our way. Even after she helped us pack the apartment - she was instrumental in coordinating the movers, the loading of the boxes and the shipment of the stuff from Oregon to the San Francisco Bay Area. She even returned the keys to the leasing office for us since we were out of state!!!! Truly saved us from multiple headaches and also having to travel to back Oregon ourselves! Well, moving finally happened and I'm so glad we hired Smoove Movers to do the job, as they greatly helped to reduce a lot of the stress of moving. They were always communicative through the entire process, and arrived on time and got straight to work. They padded all our furniture and really took care of all of our stuff. No obstacle was a challenge for them. Small elevator? No problem. Five flights of stairs? No problem. Dealing with my disorganized packing skills? No problem!
