I bought a cover for Prestige many years ago and it lasted 10 plus years. Three years ago, I bought the most expensive one they make. It failed at the seam, and they are denying my claim faster than a health company. Didn't even offer a prorated replacement. It also got a small cut on the top (probably from a fallen tree branch) about a year ago that causes it to take in water when it rains also. Piece of junk. The cover started having water log issues in February of 2025, and we purchased it on March 2, 2024. It did not even last one year. We inquired and was told this by the company: "We are sorry to hear you are experiencing water saturation of your foam inserts. I called and asked for a supervisor to call me back, but I never received a call. I sent the following email to them: "I have called and left a message to speak to someone but have not heard back. Can you please explain to me why you ship items by size rather than weight? Also, are replacement inserts to be paid by us or you? We would just like a little more clarification." This was their response: "Attached is the pro-rated warranty that came with your purchase. The warranty explains the shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser. Our shipping is determined by the freight carriers not us, and the size of the box is what they have to use because it takes up a lot of room and has to be handled with care due to the nature of the construction of the cover." What you see below is a four year old cover. Four years. Contacted customer service regarding their supposed five year warranty, and they asked that I pay $280.00 + $108.00 for a replacement. This cover was supposed to last 5 years but lasted less than 2. The purported "5 year warranty" is a sham. They charge $300 shipping for the replacement cover, plus they charge you a fair amount to make the new one, so to get it replaced under warranty would have ended up costing me just $3 less than what I paid for it in the first place! For a cover that may also only last me 2 years? I don't think so. I emailed and called their customer service. Numerous communications only succeeded in reducing the price by about an additional $40. Not worth it, and not what I expected when the retailer (Wholesale Spa Covers) promised a "5 year manufacturer warranty" in big writing on the retailer's sales page. I took extra good care of this cover -- left it open as they told me to when adding chemicals so it wouldn't get bleached by the vapors, cleaned the top so dirt wouldn't build up, didn't let anyone put weight on it -- all the things they told me to do so as not to void the warranty. At less than 2 years it is literally letting rainwater through like a sieve. After several days of heavy rain our tub was about 2 inches more full than it had been. At that point the cover was only about 21 months old. I had paid extra for the 6 inch foam, 2 lb foam upgrade, insulated hinges, and vapor-proof barrier seal. Although all that lasted only about 21 months, I got no recourse from either the retailer or the manufacturer. My wife and I decided to change our hot tub cover last year to a thicker more insulted cover to save on electric bills. The old cover worked great. It just could have been thicker. We ordered a replacement cover from Florida Spa Covers who sells Prestige Spa Covers. The cover arrived in a well-packed box and we installed it the next day. We had no issues for the first six to eight months. Then, more and more, we noticed the cover getting heavy and soaked with water. It started requiring the two of us to swing it back on the arm. When we did prop it up water came pouring out through the seams! This happened after rain storms. The next thing we noticed was that the water level in the hot tub was getting higher after rain storms. We contacted Florida Spa Covers who told us we need to contact Prestige Spa Covers (PSC) about the problem. Here is the order of events after that initial phone call: 1) Contacted PSC. PSC told us that the inserts need to be flipped and that would fix the problem. I did not see why that would matter but inserts were flipped and the problem still occurred. Water was still coming into the cover and the hot tub. Note that the inside of the cover where the inserts are stored was covered in mold from being wet. We spent a lot of time cleaning the mold. 2) PSC told us that they would send new inserts. Inserts came and were installed. Water still came into the covers and into the pool. 3) PSC told us to flip the inserts. That would fix the problem. Inserts flipped and problem still occurred. Water still came into the covers and into the pool. Mold again. 4) PSC sent us a huge shower cap device to cover the hot tub. That obviously worked but it took at a minimum two of us to put it on every time we used the tub. It is huge and is a one-size-fits-all cap. Color does not match what we paid for making it stick out like a sore thumb on our color matched hot tub and deck. Why should we have to struggle to put a cover onto a cover that was itself made to cover a hot tub! I am a retired engineer and at this point in time I decided to do some experimentation to see how all this water was coming into the hot tub. I used plastic and tape and first put water only on the middle seam. Very little if any water at all came into the inside of the cover. I then sealed the center off 8" on each side and sprayed the remaining cover. Water got inside the cover. I then only sprayed the left side and water came into the left side only. Same results with the right side. Finally, I sprayed along the top and let it fall over a small part of the edge seam. Water inside. All this done with the center section still sealed from any water. The conclusion is that the seams leak. By leaking I mean a LOT of water gets inside the cover. After a typical North Carolina rain storm we need to empty the vinyl white covers AND at least five gallons out of the tub. Last week we emptied two five gallon buckets and had to rebalance the pool yet again because of outside water. I let PSC see pictures of all of my experiments. Here is PSC's response to our request for either a fix (other than the huge cap) or our money back is: "I reviewed the photos with my team and unfortunately our covers are not 100% waterproof. We can offer you a cover cap to help keep the water out at no cost. It's similar to a shower cap for your hair." I fully realize that the cover is not waterproof but it is not even good at being water resistant! Buyer beware! We highly recommend that you do not purchase a spa cover through Florida Spa Covers who use Prestige Spa Covers as their manufacturer. If you do you are wasting your hard-earned money and will be a slave to hot tub draining, mold and the higher chemical cost of maintenance. Go elsewhere! read more

I bought this cover in February of 2022. I paid much extra for,among other extras,"double wrapped plastic" around the foam,5" tapered to 3 " foam for MAXIMUM strength. First problem was the cover had a dip in the front left corner which puddled water. The company told me that in building,they must have had the foam upside down and J needed to unzip it,remove it,flip it and reinstall. I did this. It seemed to take care of the issue. Fast forward to November 2024. Inwas in the process of filling and opening the spa for the winter. when I opened the from half of the cover ,I noticed a small amount of water inside the plastic with the foam. This water drained out while the cover was folded open. When I attempted to open the rest of the cover and fold it back on its hinge,I could not lift it. I looked underneath II and saw the plastic on the back half of the cover was full of water,as in several gallons. The plastic was hanging down into the water in the spa. I called the dealer first(spacovers.com). They also apparently trade under many many other names that would conveniently begin with whatever brand hot tub you own. They suggested I poke holes in the plastic for the water to drain. They said I would have to contact Prestige Spa Covers for warranty. I contacted them,sent them pictures per their request and explained what issue Inwas having. They said I had a five year warranty that is prorated. They reviewed my case and informed me the to correct my $970.00 cover,I would have to pay $380.79 for the parts and shipping,and make the repairs myself. Also,the vinyl is cracking in the area along the edges where it folds over which never even is exposed to sunlight. I would not purchase a cover made by Prestige Spa Covers or any company such as Spa Covers.com that sells them. Please do not use this company! They are an absolute scam, it's been over a year since I ordered my hot tub cover and I have yet to receive a working one. We received a cover that failed within a month, company told us they would send us new inserts under warranty and never sent them. Tried to get them to resend, and yet again they never came. The cover they originally sent is now totally damaged, inserts will not fix the fact that the cover has been waterlogged for almost a year. Had they replaced the inserts originally when we filed the warranty claim, we wouldn't need a new cover. Now that the cover is unusable, prestige spa cover refuses to send us a full cover and so I'm now almost $1,000 in the hole and no cover to speak of on my hot tub. Phone calls and emails go unanswered. If I get one more request for a photo showing the problem I'm just going to laugh. I spent countless hours via email and phone, this company is absolutely horrible and is a total scam. They have 100% pocketed my money and I have no working product to speak of. We've given this company every chance to make this right and they have not even bothered to make amends. At this point I would just be happy with a refund, screw the cover. I purchase a new hot tub cover in November 2022. This month I noticed sagging in one corner. On inspection the foam insert had deteriorated however the remaining 3 inserts were fine. Therefore, there must be a material defect and should be replaced under their 5 year warranty. I contacted the company and sent them photos and description of the issue. Their response was "Take out the affected foam insert and flip it over" I stated that there must be an issue of why the foam failed and as a company they should be concerned that their product is faulty. Worse experience I have had. Ordered based on make, model, date and serial number and it fit horribly. After sending many pictures of how it didn't fit, I ended up making a template for them but it still wasn't a very good fit. I excepted it as a learning experience. The cover construction is also poor. The steel stiffeners wouldn't stay in the foam, the vinyl cracked and torn easily, and the foam soaked up water almost immediately. I purchased a spa cover with a 5 year warrantee and special mesh to keep the cover from being waterlogged. The cover that arrived was not properly tapered and water pooled on one side, causing that side to become waterlogged. I made a warrantee claim and they offered to ship a new foam insert at my cost. They said Replacement Foam Inserts at $40 each plus shipping. Shipping is approximately $192.97 to your area. At that point, we might as well get a new spa cover, which means this goes in the landfill with half it's promised shelf life. Their warrantee is basically useless. Update: Prestige agreed to remedy the situation by shipping the double wrapped vapor barrier inserts as originally ordered. Regretfully, during transit those inserts were punctured and the vapor barrier compromised. However, in the process of replacing the single vapor barrier insert that had been on the tub for roughly 45 days, water was visible on the inside of the vapor barrier. It is apparent the quality of the vapor barrier seal is poor and not 100% sealed. Consequently, the foam inserts will quickly become saturated, water logged and too heavy to be supported by the cover lift. The quality of the covers is questionable. Original Review: Ordered cover on 8/29 from Florida Spa Covers received on 11/5, CC charged upon order placement. Product was from Prestige Spa Covers not Florida Spa Covers as advertised. Advertised double wrap 6 mil vapor barrier on insulation received only a single wrap. Box was heavily damaged. Stitching on skirt was defective causing the skirt to stick out and catch the wind defeating it's purpose. I am a construction engineer by trade and review materials and quality for a living, the overall quality is fair to poor. Recommend paying more for better quality. read more

I purchased a spa cover last year in August 2016 to replace one I had that come with my hot tub which I could tell wasn't made well since it started getting moldy and retaining water since there was not liner to protect it against moisture. I had read numerous reviews about prestige good and bad but my thoughts were that they have been in business for over 20 yrs so they must be doing something right.... I ordered my cover and within a week I had my cover delivered to my door. From the time I ordered the cover to the time I received it I found was quite timely, the cover was constructed well and has been quite durable with no molding or moisture issues. ordered a spa cover 5/28/2021. took 8 weeks to arrive. upon arrival i noticed it was a way different color than what the website appeared. i thought we were getting light grey. we ended up getting a light grey with pink/purple undertones. then i noticed the cover was about 1.5"-2" too large on the length. from there i decided to contact spacovers.net out of new jersey who was my dealer. they pushed me right into the manufacturer prestige spa covers out of florida. we exchanged at least a dozen emails with very descriptive pictures of what was wrong with this cover. prestige spa claimed that the metal of some sort was loose in the cover making it too large. i followed all there suggestions and this cover is still too large by the same amount noted above. i suggested a new cover be made because i think they made some deductions incorrectly and they said no we didnt its all compurterized and its right, ummmm its not right! its too large, see photos! i even suggested giving me a discount. no response. i would never recommend either of these companies for a hot tub cover. to summarize, the cover was not the color we expected, the cover was too large for my hot tub, the cover has an excessive amount of material on the underside which droops in the water when shut, the cover when pushed together and closed has a huge droop if i can call it that along the seem on the top side which collects water and creates bugs. i think thats about it. its just not good quality or manufacturing! I received a Prestige spa cover from them via one of their dealers, The Cover Guy recently. The spa was delivered in a large semi truck trailer by one of their freight carriers under contract with them. The spa was delivered late morning. I live in AZ and this particular morning the temp as already 108 and climbing. The spa cover box was removed from the trailer by the driver/handler and leaned against my home. I performed an initial cursory inspection of it but because of the extreme temps I did not remove the item. Additionally, the box with the damage was concealed from my view during offload and the fact that the cover was leaned against my home with the damage side towards my home concealed it further. The addition of the extreme heat added to the need to shorten the inspection. Boy what a mistake that was. After the sun traversed away from the side of the house where the hot tub cover needed to be moved into my back yard I opened up the box. What I discovered were a damaged box and a damaged hot tub cover inside the box. I immediately notified the carrier of the damage and was told by a nice person on the other end that "we work really well with The Cover Guy and this should be taken care of right away". Liar, liar pants on fire. It has been since July 12 with no successful proposed resolution. I know the item was insured for $200.00 because that amount was on the shipping document inside the box. The most recent resolution was from the retailer, The Cover Guy, for me to actually remove the vinyl from my hot tub cover, ship it back to them and they will, free of charge (yahoo) repair the damage. Did I mention I live in AZ? I live in the greater Phoenix area and right now it is monsoon season with torrential rains and dust storms nearly every day. For them to suggest I remove the vinyl from the hot tub cover only leaves the Styrofoam to protect my hot tub. Not only is this a stupid proposal but it would lead to damage to my hot tub and the Styrofoam. I firmly believe they are a horrible company who is trying to pacify me and they must think that I am idiot to even propose such a stupid and preposterous idea as they have done. No more Prestige spa covers for me. Because of the extreme heat my cover is exposed to I go through one every three years. I have a lot of years left to enjoy my hot tub and neither The Cover Guy nor Prestige spa covers will ever receive a nickel of my future business. Horrible experience.
