The initial service was impeccable, which is why I decided to return. I'm giving two stars out of grace for that first visit. Unfortunately, my second experience with the exact same item was disappointing. When I picked up my comforter, I noticed small specks of lint scattered across it. I brought this to the manager's attention, and while she insisted she personally handled my item and attempted to remove the lint, that explanation didn't align with the final result. If the issue couldn't be resolved, I should have been notified before leaving--not after I had to point it out myself. I did receive a refund, which I appreciate, but I genuinely wanted this to work. It seemed like the manager had already made up her mind that nothing further could be done, and there was no real effort to try to resolve the issue. At that point, I simply asked for my item back so I could take it somewhere that handles items with more care and attention to detail. It honestly made me question whether my comforter was mixed in with others during the process, especially since I take great care in maintaining it, including regularly steam disinfecting it at home. What was also frustrating was that instead of focusing on my concern, the manager began explaining how other customers' items can come in, as if I was expected to sympathize. My only concern was the condition of my item. Based on this experience, I would recommend keeping it simple here--stick to everyday dry cleaning. I would not suggest bringing larger bedding items like comforters or duvet covers, as the quality and attention to detail may not be consistent.

Representing prior to 2018, Y is for Yates Dry Cleaning. I lived in 2 rooms in houses in Del Ray Alexandria. The 2nd of the houses (Apr.-Oct. 2014), one of the roommates worked at Yates. He told me I could get half off my shirts, pants, etc. At this time in Spring 2014, I was dressed nice for the office & work travel 4-5 days a week, so dry cleaning was important. I went to Yates a few times while living in Del Ray. The quality was overall good, maybe a couple of minor things the few times I went there. Their regular price in 2014 was a ripoff; it's more like what someone might've paid in the early 2020's I'm guessing. I went in, and they'd argue it's only a 25% off. I said no the roommate (who I forgot what his name was) gave me 50% off. There was a bit of back & forth. Even at 25% off, it would've been more than a lot of places in 2014. Ultimately, they'd concede as they still wanted the business, but I didn't like having to fight with them. In October 2014, I moved to southwest Arlington near Bailey's Crossroads, so Yates was a lot less convenient. I went once or twice as I wasn't confident about what was a good dry cleaner in my new area and went with what I already knew, but Old Town Alexandria area was a haul. I looked around on Yelp & wasn't convinced on my most local options within a couple of miles from me, and ended up going to one in Falls Church on the other side of the downtown (See my May 2018 5-star review of Spectrum Cleaner, also a different alphabet series). Although it wasn't close to my home, it was still a bit easier than schlepping to Yate's plus I did get tired of arguing about the 50% off.

I used Yelp to reach out to a number of Wash/Dry/Fold places. Clean All was quick to respond and offered very reasonable rates. They even made suggestions for me to pass on to the repair people. I guess that makes sense because people who run laundromats have lots of with broken equipment. Anyway, I dropped off a bunch of laundry and it was clean, dry, and folded the following morning. They did a great job and even listened to my requests for some minor special handling. While I was there, I learned they also wash larger items, like weighted blankets, take in dry cleaning, and do alterations. Frankly, before this I never even realized they were there, and I've gone past there store 100s of times. I'll certainly use them for WDF the next time I need it. That may be in a few days since, sadly, the circus is still in town.

I needed the pants taken in at the hips but the seams came out bumpy and noticeably mismatched on each side. Was going to throw them away and start over but decided to see if they could be saved as there was still room to take in. I had very little faith that this plan would work but gave it a go. The ladies here at the Cameron Station Cleaners/alterations repaired them and it was less than it cost at the Pentagon. Just in awe and relieved! What have I been told by the same female employ, you the reader pick which one you find most unacceptable: 1) well we can fix the wrong one to fit you (so, um, wonder about the original owner of those pants?) 2) leave me your other two pants and we will look for the missing one (the only thing the missing pants have in common with my other two is they are black, not same brand 3) when I went to get my two pants back, they were reluctantly returned to me 4) one week I'm told, come back on Thursday, the owner can decide what to do. I come on a Thursday the owner is not there 5) I come back the following week, "I have to tell the owner about your missing pants."
