This is a nice place for a sandwich and a drink. However, don't order the French onion soup. All of the soup is soaked in the croutons that are in the soup. It is like eating a bowl of mush. The Philly Cheesesteak and their Reuben are delicious. So are their homemade chips and French fries. They have a generous supply of beer, ale, and liquor. When I was eating, they had a regular group at the bar. I heard one man at the bar who said he could drink liquor all day but when he ate a meal he only drank beer. This is an interesting place to visit. It seems like a real nice regular gathering place for the neighborhood. read more

Great owner. good people. Been thrown out of there and treated unfairly. But ownership continues to let family problems trickle down to the customer. Matter of fact it's become personal and now I will profess my poor treatment to my friends in old town. It's sad that a restaurant in my back yard could be so judgmental at five pm when I was waiting for my wife to come work and enjoy ourselves I was tossed out of the place: I won't blame this on the restaurant I will blame it on the server. Good food, generous portions! We had the Irish nachos which were excellent, but too much for 2 people! Next time I'll ask if we can have a half order. Followed up with fish and chips which were also excellent. We both had the Pike's Peake cocktail. My husband loved it, but I would have liked another splash of ginger beer in mine. No complaints! Basic pub menu but unlike most pub food, everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious. What really makes this place special is the service. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I have driven by this place multiple times because my daughter lives in the area. We tried it back when it was Clarke's, had a bad experience, and never came back even as it changed names several times. My wife and I decided to give Preston's a try and came last Sunday evening for dinner. The lighting and cleanliness are huge improvements over Clarke's. The menu and clientele are also much improved. We had a bruschetta appetizer, french onion soup, and a reuben sandwich. Everything was really good. If I had one criticism it would only be that I would like to have had the bread on the reuben grilled a little more. Otherwise, we enjoyed all the food we had. I am an IPA fan and there were not many IPAs on tap but the hazy one they did have was outstanding. Plenty of other types of beers though. We will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items that caught our attention. read more

So disappointed with my visit today's. Alway been a big fan of Clifton Pub and wanted to support Preston's Pub. I was very disappointment today. The service was ok but the food was not. My husband ordered the Brie appetizer it tasted like burnt nuts. He ordered the Virginia burger and we were going to split it but it looked so dried out I refused to share it and ordered a BLT with a runny egg. The BLT was sent back because the egg was over cooked. Our Saturday lunch date cost us $80 dollars that was not fit to eat, my husband refused to say anything and our husband and wife date was now over. Needless to say I will not be back. read more

Love coming to Preston's. It's our neighborhood hangout and everyone loves it! Drink and food selection is awesome. My wife and I love their salads. They have a steak salad that is off the charts and the spinach strawberry salad is amazing, especially if you top it off with some rare salmon. We love coming on Thursday nights for bingo as well. I just had a very nice BLT delivered to me by DoorDash from this restaurant. The sandwich was great, it took a very short amount of time from placing my order online to receiving my sandwich, and the driver was friendly and cheerful. This pub is in my neighborhood and has outdoor seating that allows dogs, so I've tried it out 2-3 x, but unfortunately the food is so overpriced for the crappy quality of food they serve. I was there tonight for another hopeful try. Got a steak salad for $16.99, the steak was so horribly gristly, I Feed most of it to the dogs, the cucumber was starting to go bad, the rest of the salad was just par. The blue cheese dressing was good. I had to fight off tons of flys and ants being outside as well, they may want to invest in some pest control. There have been a few other - frankly better restaurants in this location that have failed, I don't know why, the neighborhood is actually growing, but this is the worst of them. They need to Lower the price to fit the quality of food they are serving or up their game. read more

This place is awesome. The food is great, good portions and the service is superior. This is a local business and our waitress Ebony was one of the best servers we have met in a long time. Recommend waiting until indoor seating resume. We were seated outdoors next to the smoking area, not ideal. Additionally, the staff didn't seem to care that some of their patrons were three sheets to the wind and their loud conversations was filled with expletives and descriptions of intimate details, where I had to ask them to tone it done several times. Decent neighborhood pub. Grabbed some lunch recently with family and while nothing really stood out there was nothing to complain about either. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I recently moved to Manassas Park and this is the only restaurant/bar that is walking distance from my house. Wasn't sure what to think when we first went there but we've now gone several times and it's always good and consistent. Amazing fries and we are obsessed with the Irish egg rolls. My bf always gets the philly cheese sub and it's delish. I've tried something new every time we go. We like their bar style pizza too! I'm determined to try all their sandwiches. Today we ordered take out and my grandparents wanted simple/plain grilled chicken sandwiches. Prestons was very accommodating and the grandparents approved! Also love the live music on Fridays! First visit was great! The wait staff was attentive and the owner saw us craning our necks to see what other tables were having and came over to give suggestions of her personal favorites and customer favorites. ( not just the most expensive ones like some places do) So, we ordered 3 types of wings, sweet tea fried chicken ( a family recipe) and the nacho potato chips with cheese and corned beef pieces. The owners favorite wings are the grilled ones. We agreed. Delicious. The sweet tea fried chicken has a slight citrus flavor and a scoop of honey butter which is yummy, but it's also delicious without it. The chicken was very tender. They allowed me to choose my sides and I got tots and cucumber salad. Both were good. The nacho potato chips were perfectly cooked. (Not overcooked which is the unfortunate norm at many restaurants.) The corned beef was more like bacon pieces which I did like despite not usually caring for corned beef. Locals were watching ball games and telling stories. It's a cute little pub. We didn't have alcohol today. You'll have to try it yourself. read more

French onion soup is excellent. The bread sticks that comes with it is DEEP FRIED! Trust, you need that in your life. Next time, I'll have to order extra bread sticks, they were that good. I ordered a "Hangover Burger" which is a majestic concept! American cheese, 7oz burger, lettuce, tomato, onion, fried egg, and a sausage party on brioche! This is where things went slightly awry. I had called ahead to be sure I could get a burger cooked to order. I only eat rare burgers on the seldom occasion I actually eat a burger. It wasn't pink at all inside. Now keep in mind, this burger was still tasty, but not at all rare. I was really hungry, and didn't even ask to send it back. It really wasn't bad, just not as ordered. My wife loved her sirloin steak(Properly medium-rare) and the tots we both ordered as a side were perfect. They were nice and crispy outside, but soft inside and weren't overly salted. My wife ordered Long Island Iced Tea and said "They sure are long!" Meaning they were as stiff as one hopes a LIIT will be. Service was a touch slow, but our server/barkeep was nice and as "Real" a person as you'd like. She was also handling quite a few clients at the bar. You know how some servers balk at recommendations or small talk? She really was down to earth and made solid recommendations. I have to chalk the somewhat slow service and overcooked burger up to an off night. I look forward to visiting and reviewing this spot again, because other Yelpers rate it quite well. We may sit at the bar next time, as well. We were the only ones sitting far from the bar, so in hindsight that could have been part of the issue. I tend to put a lot of weight on service, but I think issues would be remedied if we'd sat closer to the bar, so I didn't ding them for that, just the overcooked burger. A solid 4 star/B rating for our first visit. I love Irish pubs and can't wait to try another burger and the Iced Tea Fried Chicken we've been hearing about! read more

I went to Prestons last week. I ordered one of their speciality cocktails that was awesome. The bartenders Maddie and Katie made sure I had everything I needed. They suggested some apps. So we ordered the fried pickles and monthly specials Irish egg rolls. They both were so good. The house ranch is the star here. We then decided on burgers and they were juicy and flavorful. It's good to see that they are enforcing mask and social distancing. The patio is big and inviting. I can't wait to come here this summer.I will definitely become a regular here. read more

Beer cold and drinks made well, staff friendly. Decor change fits in well. The chicken wings were good however their appearance was not very appetizing. Look liked they were baked partially and then grilled slightly with barely noticable grill marks. The result was pale wings with zero crispness and the fat not being rendered off. The Irish nachos again were good but lacking the needed ingredients ie., contained only a tablespoon of corned beef and the same amount of bacon and very little cheese. My parents and I came in to try it out, nothing short of amazing, started with French onion soup for my mom and wings for pops and I. The soup was perfect and the wings were a nice surprise (grilled but still crispy) and the were literally falling off the bone under its own weight....my mom for her entree got the sweet tea fried chicken. It came out with a mound of something on top...turned out to be a pile of honey buttered that emulsified over the fried chicken... After trying it my dad and I made her share. My chicken sandwich was great as well with a sriracha aioli and pops had a Club that was basic but somehow different and absolutely delicious as well. Victoria our server was fantastic too.
