I've been hearing a lot of positive comments about this place and finally decided to try them out. Just had my eyebrows done yesterday by Vanna. She is absolutely amazing and talented! Not only she is good at what she does but also has a unique ability to put her clients at ease, with her big personality and smile. She was so patience with me. Took us about an hour and half to draw and correct my brows to how I wanted (with Phalla's expertise). If it wasn't for Phalla, I wouldn't have this perfect shape. I am writing on behalf of a friend who went to this studio to get her lashes done this week. She is Chinese and was refused service by her technician. While laying on the table, she was asked where she was from and when she said she was from Shanghai, the technician left the room and came back a few minutes later and asked her to leave due to her concerns about coronavirus. My friend explained that she has been visiting the U.S. for more than two months, before the coronavirus outbreak in China and well beyond any quarantine requirements. Still, she was asked to leave. Of course, my friend was embarrassed and left graciously, but upon telling me this story tonight, I felt the need to write the owner and her customers on Yelp to let them know that this behavior is called xenophobia. Here is an excerpt from a recent article in The Guardian to explain further how treating Asian people this way is wrong: "Sam Phan, a master's student at the University of Manchester, wrote: 'This week, my ethnicity has made me feel like I was part of a threatening and diseased mass. To see me as someone who carries the virus just because of my race is, well, just racist.' 'As an east Asian I can't help but feel more and more uncomfortable,' added Phan, a British citizen. 'On the bus to work last week, as I sat down, the man next to me immediately scrambled to gather his stuff and stood up to avoid sitting next to me.' Phan appealed for compassion over fear. "It's important to see us in all our diversity, as individual human beings, and to challenge stereotypes. The coronavirus is a human tragedy, so let's not allow fear to breed hatred, intolerance and racism." I understand that the health of your customers and your staff is a priority. However, if you actually did, perhaps you could have saved my friend's time and dignity as well reveal to probably a majority of your clientele how you really feel about them. I have monolids and she has done the best work so far. I've tried about 4 other places and I have to say this is my new go to. Their space is very clean and beautiful! I have to say their pricing is on the higher end, but it is definitely worth it for the quality of work they do. My eyes don't get irritated and the lashes stay full and beautiful for 3 weeks. This is my one stop shop for my eyes (eyelashes extensions and microbladed eyebrows). I've tried many other places (consider me a connoisseur), but definitely will not go anywhere else once I've found Vanna and Phalla. I've had my eyebrows microbladed before, but that person, while amazing, has gotten very expensive. Came to Vanna bc I've been doing my eyelashes here for two years now, and she was super patient with me on getting my eyebrows shape just right, and also very affordable for the amazing service she provides. I get tons of compliments on them and can truly say "I woke up like this" all the time. As for eyelash extensions, I was using eyelashes strips for ages, then three years ago developed an allergy to glue and my eyes would puff up every time I applied them. As an Asian girl with next to nothing short eyelashes, I couldn't bare to go all natural, so I set on my course of finding an eyelash extension artist who might be able to solve my issue. Many clumpy tries and puffy eyes later, I came across Phalla who applies just the right amount of glue so my eyes wouldn't get allergic, and can also work her magic in getting these beautiful fans of eyelash extensions on my barely there short eyelashes. She's also very real with me on what my lashes can support and what they can't, which I appreciate. There are other artists out there who would just say yes to your request to put on these really long eyelash extensions that your real eyelashes can't support, and end up stripping off your real eyelashes in the process. Phalla is a true expert. It also helps that she's super sweet and fun to talk to. Going to see her for the past two years has been one of my favorite things to look forward to every three weeks. Very Disappointed. Drove 45 mins for my 1:30pm appointment. When I arrived I was told I didn't have an appointment since I never left a deposit, which I was never told to do. The lash artist said she didn't tell me about the deposit since I "never confirmed." I posted a screen shot of our message. Where she clearly asks if 1:30pm with Nancy is ok, I clearly said "perfect". Came in for a hybrid eyelash extension full set. I Love the outcome of my lashes. Phalla was very friendly and welcoming, she went over the style and the different types of lashes she has to offer. She made all her volume fans by hand instead of using pre made volume fans like many other shops do. I've been getting lashes for a long time and can tell you pre made fans are much heavier and uncomfortable for the eye. She really does take her time giving you a quality set of extension. We decided on a open eye look, the process was very relaxing I even got a nap in. Her salon was very clean and neat and she wore a mask the entire process. She wipes down the eye lash extensions bed before and after our appointment. Her shop is by appointment only so you don't have to worry about having a place filled with people. She's very attentive, alert and knows exactly what the client needs. She recently suggested I should have my eyeliner tattooed. I never leave disappointed and I always get compliments on how beautiful my lashes look. I always only do hybrid since I can't lay on my back for too long but her work for volume lashes is impeccable! I literally don't know what I'd do with her... my everyday makeup routine over the last 4 years has gone from an hour+ in the morning to just 15 mins and it's mainly cause of the lashes, it gives a beautiful cat eye makeup look without having to actually put on any makeup! This review is for Nancy! I've been going to her for a little over a month now and I'm pleased every time I go see her. She does a spectacular job on my 2D lash extensions and fills. I've definitely cut down my getting ready time by 30 minutes because I wake up with beautiful looking lashes everyday. I get a fill every 3 weeks to maintain my lashes, and I have to say barely any of my lash extensions fall off after 3 weeks! That's amazing because the last place I went to I got volume lashes and majority of my lashes fell off within a week. The extensions that are used here are extremely light and are high quality. Phalla is the best lash artist. I always get a ton of compliments on my lashes and some may think her prices are a little high, but its worth it. The quality of her lashes are much better than other places I've been to and the glue she uses lasts much longer. I have friends who say their lashes fall off after 2 weeks but I've had her bomb lashes stay on for more than 3 or 4 weeks. She takes her time with you, so you don't feel like shes rushing through at all. She's always talkative which is nice because who would want to sit through 2 hours of lash application with no conversation? Phalla is literally the best lash artist ever! I have monolids which are super tricky to work with, but my lashes are on fleek every single time. She will be honest about what your lashes can handle, and gives you a lot of aftercare instructions so you can take care of your investments. The studio is always clean, and there's plenty of parking in the plaza as well. I have found my friends who get their lashes done have artists who don't give super specific instructions on how to care for the lashes, or don't really care about the health of the lashes themselves. Went to three lash left experts and all three told me the same thing. Vanna didn't take time to separate each eyelash. Don't go get your lash lift there. The only reason I gave one star. She take her time in doing my lashes and make sure each session is done perfectly, seriously I mean every time I step out of her studio my lashes are on fleek! With my busy schedule with babies, there is no time in getting ready. Now I literally take 20 mins in doing my makeup, because with the perfect set of extension you only need minimal makeup.
