I have a later model Ford Maverick, and up until this point, all service had been performed at the dealer. Knowing that I needed new tires (and not wanting the OEMs), I reached out to Houser's and spoke with Mike, detailing what I wanted. Mike communicated effectively and promptly, and he didn't try to pressure me into something else because he could tell I knew what I wanted. We made an appointment about two weeks in advance, as he had to order the tires from a supplier. Mike managed to find the tires cheaper from a different supplier and even found a rebate for the set from Cooper Tire. Bonus! I arrived about 10 minutes early, and they started about 10 minutes after the appointment, which I didn't think was bad at all. I had set my expectation at 90 minutes out the door. About 80 minutes after the start of the appointment, I was ready to roll. The only thing that made me apprehensive was how packed the lot was and the difficulty finding a spot. As Mike stated to me, if you can get off the road (Baltimore Pike), you are good. Seeing the sea of autos on the lot gave me a little anxiety before I opened the door. I thought, oh no, I am walking into a situation where the shop is slammed and I'm going to be here for 3 hours! However, the fact that I didn't have an extended wait time tells me that Mike is managing everything very effectively. The waiting room was comfortable and empty, but occasionally a customer would come in. Mike dealt with their concerns in a friendly and speedy manner.

On March 14th, 2024, Hauser sold me two Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires for $176 each (they're $99 from Pep Boys, a 177% markup), and I asked them to put them on the FRONT of the car. On August 9th,2024, they charged me $160 to install two tire pressure sensors (they're $20 each, a 400% markup!). During the sensor installation, they put one of the NEW tires on the REAR of the car. They need to look up the term 'ATTENTION TO DETAIL'. Now I have to pay someone else to move the new tire to the front of the car to FIX THEIR WORK. They also scuffed the paint on my truck installing 4 new tires, again at almost 200% markup. Each time I took my vehicles there, I provided written instructions on the service I wanted. They have never done everything I asked for, but they always sold me something I didn't need with a huge markup. Apparently, they're too short sighted to realize that they can only PRICE GOUGE their customers once or twice, then we get smart and find someone who isn't so GREEDY!

The inspection staff and shop manager was verbally abusive when you question their work. Then a third employee decided it is ok to punch a customer in the face. Interestingly enough I contacted the CEO Mike Montgomery via email regarding this matter and as of 5/4/24 he has not responded. It would seem if a customer took the time to contact the owner due to issues with his employees to include necessitating a Cecil County Sheriffs response you would respond and engage said customer? I am really a pretty reasonable person, but when staff give me the proverbial middle finger when I speak to them and then another staff member physically assaults me I tend to become a lot less reasonable. Updates below in reverse order by date: 5/9/24 UPDATE: Maryland State Police (MDSP) came out and looked at the vehicle and it passed. The MDSP treated me like a valued customer. I sent a review to MDSP telling them how much I appreciated their assistance and explained that even if they failed the vehicle I would have accepted that answer because of the professionalism exhibited by the MDSP. The MDSP did not verbally abuse me, talk down to me, or physically assault me. As for the business I hear crickets, which speaks volumes to their actual business practices. 5/7/24 UPDATE: Took the vehicle to another shop for a 2nd opinion and they confirmed what I thought, which is their mechanic is incorrect. Unfortunately I guess I will need to contact Maryland State Police Inspection Folks and see what my recourse is. My friend has known Craig for years, from when he worked at Mercedes. His partner, a mechanic, had also worked for Mercedes. When the business opened we both decided to start going to Silver Star. They are very familiar with Mercedes and BMW and I really like that I only have to go 20 minutes from my home to get there. Makes drop of and pick ups so much easier. You just drive in, park and give Craig the key. This is a very pleasant service shop to do business with. They also do inspections and have the equipment necessary to maintain these cars.

I have now had three Mercedes and a BMW serviced here, and I have been satisfied each time. They took the time to understand the level of repair I needed for cars in different conditions, instead of simply compiling a list of parts to repair. My most recent problem (suspension clunk) was not easily diagnosed, but they successfully found the problem and made repairs for a very reasonable price. Those of us with twenty-something-year-old European cars know how important it is to have expert maintenance. I'm happy to have someplace I trust. Recommended without reservation.
