### Yelp Review for Priceless Nifty Car Rental I booked my car rental through Priceline as part of a travel bundle that included a flight and hotel. While the flight and hotel were satisfactory, my experience with Priceless Nifty Car Rental was far from acceptable. Upon arrival, the rental instructions advised us to call when we were on the shuttle bus. After doing so, we were told to wait until we reached the drop-off location, which felt unnecessarily confusing. IMO, it would have made more sense to call upon arrival at the pickup spot, but we complied. Following a lengthy 22-minute drive, we called again to confirm our arrival. We were then instructed to wait for a driver in a grey van with yellow lettering, which turned out to be quite a distance from the rental car location-an additional 5-8 minutes away. When the van finally arrived, it wasn't in the most appealing condition--dusty and unkempt. The driver informed us she had to stop for gas, despite us having called well in advance. Upon reaching the rental location, there was only one red Nissan that appeared to be in disrepair. The other 4 cars on the lot belonged to the staff. The process of retrieving the vehicle was frustrating. I was surprised by the $400 deposit requirement, and when I inquired about the email instructions, Nicole explained that they needed the first call to prepare the car and the second call would initiate pick up. She also mentioned that the reason for the lone single car was because they were overbooked and needed to retrieve a vehicle from another location. All RED FLAGS! The rental fee of $127 had already been prepaid, but the condition of the car was alarming. Here are some of the issues I discovered: 1. Gas tank was below half. 2. Engine light was illuminated. 3. Skid traction light was on. 4. Tire pressure light was activated. 5. Back seat had stains, possibly dried milk or vomit. 6. Blonde hair was found in the rear window seal. 7. Temp tag indicated it might have been recently acquired. 8. Scuffed hubcaps and a missing paint section on the driver's side front fender. 9. The steering wheel and gear shifter were filthy. 10. Wet paper mats were placed on the front seats, misleadingly suggesting the car had been cleaned. 11. A cigarette burn hole was present in the rear seat. 12. Overall, the vehicle showed numerous nicks and dings. After bringing these issues to Nicole and the owner's attention, I received acknowledgment HOWEVER it resulted in the form of gaslighting . The owner acknowledged my concerns about the back seat stains and stated they'd had the car steamed but those stains were stubborn (not accurate, a quick wipe down with a lysol wipe showed otherwise) but insisted they wouldn't hold me liable. However, I felt uncomfortable driving a car in such poor condition, particularly with the engine light on. After driving just a short distance I experienced severe vibrations leaving the lot and therefore IMMEDIATELY doing a Uturn, and returned the vehicle, citing safety concerns. The owner instructed Nicole to issue a refund for my deposit, but when I inquired about the prepaid rental fee, I was informed that they wouldn't receive payment for 30 days. I was advised to contact Priceline for a cancellation, which led to further frustration. Despite my efforts, Priceline was unable to secure a refund due to the misleading claims from the rental office. Ultimately, I returned to the office only to be offered another unserviced vehicle, which I declined. My wife and I opted for an Uber instead. If you're considering renting from Priceless Nifty Car Rental, I strongly advise against it. Their practices and the condition of their vehicles do not meet acceptable standards. On November 6, I was traveling to Louisiana for a funeral and to address health issues concerning my dad. Upon arrival, the Priceless Car Rental shuttle van picked me up and took me to their rental location. I was assigned a rental contract, paid a $400 deposit, and confirmed the $177 prepaid amount I had already paid several days earlier. Within 10 minutes of leaving the rental lot, I noticed several serious issues with the vehicle. The car shook every time I applied the brakes, the backup camera was not visible, and the check engine light was on. Because of these problems, I did not feel safe driving the vehicle. I immediately called the rental office to report the issues and informed them I would be returning the car. I requested to exchange the vehicle, but I was told they were overbooked and would not have another available until the next day. They advised me to keep the unsafe vehicle and return it the following day. This was not an acceptable option, as I needed to travel an hour away from the airport and did not feel safe driving the car in its condition. When I returned the vehicle, I asked again if any replacement cars were available because I saw one being returned. I was told it was already spoken for. The employee wrote the $400 refund amount on my receipt and told me I would need to contact corporate--or the third-party I prepaid through--to receive my $177 refund. I explained that I booked and prepaid directly through their website, and they then instructed me to call corporate for the refund. After leaving, the shuttle driver took me to the airport rental center, where I proceeded to rent a replacement vehicle from Budget. That same evening, I called Priceless corporate, explained the situation, and provided all requested documentation. Since then, it has been continuous back-and-forth communication. Despite my same-day report and clear evidence, including a time-stamped photo showing the check engine light (which was not a tire-pressure issue), Priceless Car Rental has since sent emails to corporate containing false information. I have documentation that the vehicle was returned immediately, that the refund was promised to me, and that I reported the issues the same day the car was rented. I have yet to be refunded my deposit nor $177 I prepaid for the car. read more

I would never rent from this place again. I was picked up by a van that looked like the ones my momma earned me about growing up. It smelled like must and smoke. Got to the place and it was more sketchy than the van ride. I was told I would need to pay $400 but it will be refunded not held like most companies do. Didn't have time to switch the car rentals I just agreed. The car they gave me ac barely worked. If I was there for more than a day I would have never rented from this place. Spend that extra coins and go somewhere else. read more

Terrible experience. They take a $400 deposit from you and take over a month to get it back. After calling they give you the run around on how long it takes to process and it could be your bank. Most rental car places place a hold on your card and that's not the case here. Called multiple times and the manager was supposedly out for a funeral everytime. Just an update to my review - I waited the "7-10 business days" to receive my deposit refund of $400.00. After 11 days, I called the office & was told it was really 7-14 business days, not 7-10 business days. I was also told they don't process the refunds, it's another office that does. But they don't have a phone number or specific person/department they contact about the refund status. They only have a basic email address. I sent the email as suggested & did not get a response. After 2 days of no response about my refund, I opted to file a charge dispute with my credit card company for help. Now it's been 12 days & I still have not heard from anyone at this company. RUN....DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!! It is NOT worth the little bit of money you might save. HUGE lesson learned on my end! read more

Scam operation. I had booked many times with Priceless in Los Angeles, so when I booked Priceless at the New Orleans Airport-using Priceline, I assumed it was same company. Did not realize " Priceless " is cheap franchise. This location uses " Nifty Car Rental as their second mask, and hiding their fraud. I booked for $121.77 for a 3 day rental. Starting Sept 30. After waiting for a customer ahead of me in their very shady office 9 not anywhere close to the other airport rentals) who was screaming at the clerk and threating to call the police, over her deposit ( I should have actually stopped and talked to her) I was seated at their desk and was told I would also have a $400.00 deposit posted to my Amex card. I have rented many cars over the past 5 years and was use to this. I agreed after the Agent told me it would be returned to me after I return the car- which is stated as policy in their listing with Priceline. HOWEVER- please , dont even bother booking with them. After they gave me a complete junk car, and I returned it 2 hours earlier then do- I was told " your deposit will be returned in next 5 to 7 days. I noticed at end of month ( October 2025) no refund had appeared. I called their office again. Was told it will probably be soon, and they would " email" their central office. Its now January, and instead of enjoying any portion of the new year we are in, I call every other day and get the same BS. I did file a chargeback with Amex, but you know how long that takes. I now realize, they are just a scam, they make their profits of people who look for a bargain, thus book them, and they take their chances you won't pay attention to the deposit. I am going to pursue this further, and going after Priceline for continuing to support and facilitate their scam- then going to see if I can find the other who have been scammed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! IT IS SKETCHY!!!! I booked a rental car bundled with my flight through Expedia. I often use this site and bundle my rental car and flight. This company was horrible from the moment I landed in New Orleans! I rode the bus to the car rental place and waited for I have no idea how long for the "gray van with the yellow letters." The driver was the nicest man, and it was a pleasant ride to the off-site location, talking with him during the drive. Once I got to the location, I saw a dilapidated white Toyota Corolla sitting near the building with the trunk open, and it appeared to be my rental car. I was hoping it was not, but in fact it was! I tried to remain positive because this was a last-minute trip and I only needed the car to get to Baton Rouge and back to the airport in two days. I was not going to be driving the car any further than straight to my boyfriend's house and back to the airport two days later. I had pre-paid everything online and was SHOCKED when they required a $400 deposit!!! I had paid $160.55 on 3/16/2026 and showed I only owed $12.05 at pick up!!!! I was NOT HAPPY that they insisted I pay $412.05 on 3/25/2026!!! I paid for the insurance through the rental car company; however, they required me to provide my personal car insurance proof and wrote down my policy and information. That seemed odd because I literally paid for the highest level of insurance their company provided!! I understand showing proof of insurance, but I have never had a company put my personal insurance information on my rental paperwork....EVER!! I rent cars regularly, and this is not something that has ever happened when using reputable rental car companies. Despite all this....I went ahead and paid the deposit and took the car, not trying to be a pain. The staff was very, very nice, and I was not trying to be unpleasant, and I was not going to use the car for anything other than just to get to my boyfriend's house and back to the airport, so I thought it would be fine. 1. The outside of the car was dented and beat up (that should have been a sign!) 2. This car SMELLED SOOOOO BAD!! I have no idea what the smell was, but it was nasty 3. The seats were stained and looked disgusting 4. The engine light was on, and the car did not sound like it was in good working order to be used as a rental car! 5. There was less than half a tank full of gas, on top of the engine light being on! 6. When I got on I-10 and tried to drive the speed limit, the car started shaking!! I do not know if it was an engine issue or a tire issue, but it was scary! I even called my boyfriend and told him I could not drive the speed limit because the car was shaking so bad, and I was worried I was going to break down!! I made it to Baton Rouge, parked the car at my boyfriend's house, and did not get back in it until 3/27/26 when I needed to drive back to the airport to fly back to Texas. The engine light was still on, and I could not drive the speed limit because the car shook so badly it felt unsafe! When I dropped off the car, a different employee received the car than was there the day I picked up the car, they gave me my receipt and told me that my deposit would be issued in 7-14 business days, but sometimes it takes 30 days or longer, depending on the bank, she gave me a paper stapled to the receipt that was about the refund and told me that if you dispute the charge with your bank it will charge a $50.00 fee for disputing it. I have waited until 4/27/26 to write this review, and to this date, I have yet to receive my $400.00 deposit back!!! I have talked to my bank, and they looked into it without a dispute, and this is not on their end, and the only way they can help me is if I file a dispute. I do not want to give this company another dime of my money, so I am waiting it out, but this is the worst experience I have ever had with a rental car company!! DO NOT USE THEM!!! I was really worried that, because they took my personal auto insurance information down and the horrible condition of the car, they might try to make some false insurance claims on my policy, but that has not happened, THANK GOD!! However, as sketchy as this place is, and after all the reviews I have read, it is still very concerning to me that they might do some shady things like that!!! Do yourself a favor and RUUUUNNNNNNNN from this company!!! Update/second review..... I have yet to receive my $400 deposit from my March 25-27th car rental. The car was in poor condition with the engine light on. Since making my last review, I was emailed by someone named Teresa. So far, it has gone nowhere. I don't wanna be charged the $50 for disputing the charges or requesting a refund, so I have waited patiently for my deposit to be refunded as of May 4, 2026. I am still currently waiting.
