OMG!!! This place is amazing!!! I am traveling from Philadelphia to Texas when my check engine light came on. Luckily, my first stop for rest was Blacksburg. I had to call every mechanic in town before getting to Auto Repair Specialists. Although they were booked up like every other shop in town, they agreed to see my vehicle. Due to the type of issue I was having with the vehicle, I was ready to stay in town for an extra day. Well, these folks had my spark plugs and ignition coil changed by 1:30!!! I was not expecting a call back until closing. The team did a wonderful job of ensuring all was in GREAT working condition so that I could finish my trip. They were also very helpful in topping fluids and informing me that I should get an oil change upon arriving to my destination. I cannot say enough good things about this crew. I don't believe I'll be bringing my car back here for service again. They did a good job on the repair, from what I can tell- no issues yet, but they were not very friendly at all. The man I dealt with continuously talked down on me and acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. He called me on the phone after looking at the car, and low and behold, I was exactly right about the issue! I also think he overcharged me for the repair trying to take advantage of a young college girl, but I had no other choice because I had to get it towed there. I would recommend staying as far away from this shop as possible, had my daughter take her car there to have a part replaced,the part is $44 at Autozone, I am a mechanic and know exactly what was needed,but I am in Norfolk my daughter goes to college there,they tried to tell me the part was $250,I said that's crazy since I can get the part for $44,a David said well that's one distributor and a have lots of cars in here so I'm just going to take it off the lift and push it out into the street,and you can pay our diagnostic fee and pick this shit up,then hangs up on me,I call back to get the diagnostic fee and they tell me there is a lift fee and a pressure test fee,the radiator hose isn't even attached so there is no way they preformed a pressure test,then they say oh yeah I see we didn't do a pressure test now it's only the lift fee,tried to rip me off twice so far,they will prey on you if they know it's for your child and you are out of the area,David is the name of the guy the told me he is just going to take my car off the lift and push it into the street because I asked why a $44 part was going to cost $250,stay away nothing but theives. read more

Great communication via phone & text throughout service, sent pics (I'm from out of town) of issues, walked me through in person, and got replacement parts in quickly. I've been going to this repair facility for over 20 years, and that alone should tell you something. I understand machinery well and they have never attempted to screw me. They are not perfect, and if an error is made it's corrected. They can and do maintain and repair all of my vehicles. I had a tire leaking air and they checked it out to see if they could fixed it with putty. Couldn't get it done, but one of them recommended that I buy fix-a-flat at an Autozone store and that worked really well on my tire. Most expensive oil change I've ever heard of! Referred by a friend, trusted them to change the oil, rotate the tires and do a trip inspection. Thought they would give me a fair price, nope. They charged me $87 and didn't even check the engine code, or report anything a general inspection would have found. Wanted $50 more just to plug it in and read the code! It's free at O'Reilly! Be careful with these guys, don't sign or agree to anything without prices written down. read more
