Hubby gives this NY pizza 5 stars and he is fussy about his thin crust pizza. I opted to skip out on a slice this time since I had just eaten. Just the right amount of cheese, sauce and crust. There are a lot of pizza places in this area, so I almost definitely won't be coming back, since my experience here was just passable. I did like their regular slice and the grandma slice. My daughter thought the Baked Ziti (which was actually Baked Penne) was ok, not great. Wife ordered a Caprese Salad, which was actually pretty bad. The thinly sliced mozzarella somehow felt like it was old. It made no sense to me, as the cheese on what was supposed to be a mozzarella, tomato and chicken "panini" must have been the same, but because it was a heated sandwich, it was a little melted and was much better than the salad. That was NOT what I think of as a panini, though. Seemed more like a very large garlic bread roll with the other ingredients inside, a large sandwich that didn't even look pressed. The Caesar Salad was fresh and the dressing was thick and tasty. Nice job there. They have Boyland brand sodas, Coke and Snapples. We had some chocolate pie that they sell by the slice. It was pretty damn good. The fellow who was helping us from behind the counter, taking the orders and the money and all, I run he could stand to improve his manner. Not to say that he was rude... he wasn't, and he was accommodating when we needed an extra fork, take out containers, dessert, etc. When we first got in there, we were a mess, not knowing what we wanted, and my intellectually disabled brother made things kind of confusing, so that could have thrown this fellow off. But he seemed annoyed, almost like he wanted to explain to us how to place an order. It didn't feel great. He's otherwise just fine, so he can definitely work on his demeanor... smile a little, etc. Anyway, for 5 drinks and all of that food, it cost me $79 plus the $20 tip I gave in cash. I'm writing a review, to bring light to the unsatisfactory customer service i received from Prima Pizza WOODHAVEN. I went into Prima Pizza Sunday 9/29/2024 @ 650pm to order a large meat lovers pie, Upon ordering I told, by the gentlemen behind the counter that it would be 20 minutes for my pie, because they had other orders in front of mine. I then stated to the gentlemen "that's fine, just let me know when you gonna start preparing it so I can explain to you how i wanted it. The gentlemen behind the counter says "OK will do". As this was happening a second gentleman who was behind the counter approached me and said what is your order, I gladly stated to him that I had already given my order to the original gentlemen who told me it would take 20 minutes who was actually making pizza pies at the time. Upon speaking to the second gentlemen I began to notice some sort of displeasure coming from him in my direction. I just ignored it and then began to stand directly outside the pizza shop and wait to be notified that the are beginning to prepare my pizza so i can give them special instructions on the pie i had ordered. Upon realizing that i have not be notified i returned inside of the pizza shop to be told by the second gentleman that my pizza was already made and that its to late to add any special instructions. I found this to be confusing because I stated to the gentleman who was making the pie to please notify me when he began to prepare it, so I can explain the way I wanted it prepared. Then immediately the second gentleman began to state to me that I did not tell him and that its too late, but I told him that I had told the person who was actually making the pie to notify me, so I was confused that I had to tell a second person as well, being that I had not seen the second gentleman making any pizzas anyway and he was on the phone when I ordered the pie originally. His demeanor was very annoyed and upset no matter how much I tried to explain "He stated I didn't tell him so its to late" I again reasonably tried to just simply explain to him that there had to be some miscommunication or misunderstanding, and instead of being disgruntle and annoyed we can try to be more solutions driven so we can solve the problem. He continued to not hear and ignore me and state there was nothing he can do. I found this very unfortunate because I just moved to the Woodhaven area and really enjoy their pizza, but after that encounter with that second gentleman, and after seeing other reviews complaining about the same treatment at the counter. I felt obligated to at least bring attention to this staff member. I hope he is related to the owners because he truly has a terrible customer service attitude, and I cant understand why he would be at the counter representing the business with that type of attitude. Like i said " I think he must be related to the owner because he sure acts like it." So if the owners read my review, and would like to check the cameras I was there 9/29/24 at approx. 650pm. Unfortunately I will not be giving any more business to Prima Pizza for such a rude employee, and uncomfortable experience. Which sucks because the pizza is actually really great, but that one gentleman at the counter, has cost them my business. read more

This time we decided to order the special with veggies on top yes it cost extra and it rolls the price almost to $30 but it was totally worth it for $29 you still get all that I mentioned above and the veggies the taste was phenomenal and filling. Last time I order from them. The first time, they had an attitude when I had a question and were not very accommodating. The food was decent though so I ordered again. This time I ordered the everyday special for three people. Two are very strict vegetarians. They packaged the wings (that was for the non vegetarian) with the mozzarella sticks. Saved them a few bucks but one person couldn't eat their food. It would be nice to package things separately. My wife and I have been looking for a good pizza place that makes a good margarita spinach pie after Marios closed.. we tried almost every pizza place in the neighborhood with the same order and none of them could get it right..We came across Prima's Pizza on yelp and love the pictures especially the one they had their margarita pie and I knew that it was going to be a hit..I've ordered other items on the menu such as the calamari a regular pie or some of that pasta and everything has been pretty much on point..I post this today on my birthday because I called them at exactly 10 o'clock and that's normally when they're closing up and asked for pretty large order and not knowing it was my birthday and still made a large order for my wife and some family friends that I have over. So I had just spent about 24-hours traveling from Southern Italy with an overnight layover in NYC when I ordered from Prima. I love pizza, my favorite foods consist of pizza, buffalo wings, and burritos (I'm a simple man), so I know that NY pizza is some of the best in the world. While I had just left the birthplace of pizza, I wanted to make sure to snag some NYC pizza when I got the chance before I returned to North Carolina. FYI: North Carolina is pretty terrible at pizza. I was going to order the House Pizza (Supreme Pizza), but my wife complained that I always order a supreme pizza. So after looking at the menu, it was decided that the buffalo chicken pizza was the way to go. I am glad we did. After we had got to our hotel room, we devoured it. It was the perfect meal for our travel-weary stomachs. It's quality even held up overnight and was a delicious breakfast as we waited for our morning flight home. Prima Pizza is well worth a try.
