Luigi's is a really great spot to satisfy your carb craving! The plain slice of pizza is traditional in what one would seek from a plain slice: perfect sauce to cheese ratio, thin and crispy with a fantastically crunchy crust. The Grandma slice I have now had twice, and while it was good, the first time was nothing compared to what I was served yesterday. The shape and optics are completely different. The chicken roll was very nicely seasoned and the chicken chopped nicely and very tender. The sauce was one I admired because it isn't overly sweet but far from too acidic as well; it's the Goldilocks of tomato sauce. The Meat Lover's slice was literally heavenly. The dough is so light and airy yet has such a delightful crunch, especially when you get the corner slice. The Grandma's slice had a nice amount of basil without it being overbearing and the shredded parm and mozzarella elevated it, for sure. My coworker and I went in here for a quick meal on the way to the school down the street for a mentorship program we're presenting on. Skeptical when we opened the bag, but they delivered a solid experience. The plain was fresh, good crust, good amount of quality cheese. The margarita was pretty exceptional as the sauce tasted a bit sweeter and loved the fresh mozz and basil. My only complaint was that $7.25 for the two which seems a bit expensive and I ponder if students these days can afford that. read more

Ok I decided to come review this pizzeria because today I ordered a large pie half cheese half pepperoni and when I opened the pie the slices are so itty bitty I had company over and even my company was like wtf? Why are these slices so small. It was embarrassing and my friends were left still hungry. I really love the taste of this pizzeria and I am a returning customer but I have noticed the slices in a pie are getting smaller and smaller. However when you go into the store and order a slice here and there they are regular sized. Is this a tactic you are using to save dough literally and figuratively? With immense struggle from abject pain due to recent major surgery, I make the trek to Luigi's Pizza for lunch of either pasta or an entrée. I did not want pizza. Cheese Ravioli $8.00 was swimming in too much Marinara sauce. The Ravioli is huge therefore the quantity is about six pieces. I prefer smaller pieces and larger quantity on my plate. Fresh and served piping hot with Italian bread. Portion was rather small. I was eyeing the entrée platters and other pasta on their wall menu. The Chicken Marsala was extremely enticing to my stomach but unfortunately not to my budget as it was $12.50. I would like to return for it though. Staff is fluent in Spanish and English. Oddly the Italian language is not present despite of the business name clearly emit Italian. A local pizzeria with traditional old fashioned pizzeria booths. Easily spotted from Atlantic Ave, the Luigi name spurred a memory. Something to the effect that the regular slices of pizza were very good, and they were. Sweet sauce and quality mozzarella cheese, well balanced and in harmony on top of a sturdy thin crust. Slices priced exactly as I had been expecting walking in, but it was early and my presence wasn't well received. Lots of grunting and groaning fur a simple slice, grated Parmesan really gave the counter man the blues. He slid my slice at me with a hint of aggressive aggression, me late wrist twist of skill to throw me off, add a steely glare and i was on my way out. They say that you tend to love the pizza that you grew up with. This might be the case for me, but I'm more than a fan of this pizzeria. It used to be called Bella Rosa when I was growing up, and management changed over five years ago. But their selection has grown to the point where there's something for everybody. Every pizzeria has garlic knots or pepperoni rolls, but this place takes it a step further with its spinach twists. At about a foot long, these thin crispy chewy sticks of goodness offer you more veggies than you're used to getting at a pizzeria. Along with marinara sauce for dipping, these make a great snack. The pizza itself is probably slightly above average, some of the best in my opinion (but I'm biased because this is what I'm used to). I love the beef patties with mozzarella cheese too. Their pasta selection is pretty decent and quite tasty as well. They also have a great sandwich selection as well as a kickass chicken panini which is really grilled chicken breast on an over-sized garlic knot. This place is great for a quick bite. I love this place for delivery, they are awesome, I love their Grandma pizza, it's the best and as always they deliver the food very fast and warm plus very fresh. They have very nice band helpful staff and very efficient, I also love their garlic knots it's the best! This place used to be good, but not so much anymore. Came in here a few months ago while it was still winter, to kill time while my clothes dried up the block, grab a regular slice and get warm. You surprised me Luigi's. I grew up in this neighborhood and I remember this place with a different name. The pizza was blah nothing to write home about. Fast forward to now and I had the opportunity to try this place under the worst of circumstances. My car broke down right off the Jackie Robinson Parkway off Metropolitan Ave and I was stranded. My husband and my dad came to sit with me until the tow truck came and my dad came with some pizza from this place. Super good!
