Stopped in to get a slice of regular and a slice of Sicilian. The Sicilian slice is mostly bread and didn't taste like anything much. The regular slice fared a little better. Ordered several cheese pies and a margherita pie for delivery. They delivered right on time and called to let me know when they arrived. All pies arrived in perfect condition and were still piping hot! The slices are quite large (8 big slices for an 18" pie) and have the perfect amount of ingredients. The crust was neither too thick or too thin. And the sesame seeds are a great addition to the slice! My friends enjoyed both types of pizza and we'd definitely order from here again! read more

Outrageously over priced pizza for what you get. Nothing special at all about the pizza. Their sesame crusts are tasteless, NOT crispy, and feels like they just toss a mountain of flour on it. Ate here today for lunch by myself while biking to Maspeth. I had brought and ate the cheese pizza with a can of soda. It was great and delicious. The service there was also fast, quick and attentive that I didn't feel rushed about what to choose a pizza to try for the first time. I couldn't agree more. Have dietary restrictions? Don't come here. Get ready for the staff to laugh at you and act unprofessionally. I went inside and asked if they had a simple Sicilian pizza with just tomato sauce and no cheese. The server at the counter said they didn't have any non dairy options so I asked for garlic knots instead. As the server was heating the garlic knots, another coworker asked what happened, and in Spanish the sever told him I asked if they had options without cheese. This guy then laughs out loud. I told the server in Spanish to forget my order, that I overheard their conversation and thought it's not right to laugh at a customer just for asking a simple question. I said they have no idea why I asked, I could be lactose intolerant, vegan, whatever. Customers are allowed to ask about ingredients and share dietary restrictions at a FOOD business. Reasons why someone would ask if something has dairy and/or meat: they are lactose intolerant, religious reasons (Muslim and can't eat pork, Jewish and having kosher ingredients), they are vegan or vegetarian, they have food allergies, they have acne and are avoiding dairy, weight loss goals. and any other reason that's their business only. Is it that laughable to ask for a non-dairy option at a NYC Italian pizzeria? No. Many traditional Italian dishes have vegan options (tomato pasta, pizza marinara, farinata, salad with cheese withheld, polenta, the list goes on). Other pizza spots like Rosa's Pizza carry pizza marinara and other options-- and have staff that are professional and won't laugh at you. This business is making a mistake and missing out on a whole wide diversity of customers. Many pizza spots have vegan and vegetarian options (they substitute with vegan cheese or simply have a slice with just marinara.) I won't be spending my money here or bringing friends or family here. As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I'm insulted and disgusted by their rude and outright mean service. Everyone has a right to think what they want and have an opinion.. In a place of business: you treat customers from all walks of life with respect, no matter what. I was close to half those men's age and have more emotional maturity and common sense on how to treat a person. read more

I first ordered 6 months ago when I moved to this area - it was good (was probably hungry) Ordered a second time weeks later- mediocre I decided to give them one more try today... This pizza is horrible! They market a $15 large pie special but I think they cut back on quality ingredients, as it is awfully difficult to deliver a quality product for that small amount of money. Many years ago I was introduced to Joeys Pizza. I kept hearing from friends that lived in Maspeth that it's the best in the neighborhood. I was skeptical because I was already living in Kew Gardens and to me the best pizza in Queens is from Dani's (don't fight me). The first time I went I tried the plain because I think that's the best way to test out a pizza place, by the plain. If that's not good then you can just forget about anything else. When I got my slice I noticed there were sesame seeds on the crust. I was intrigued and delighted after that first bite. I don't know why but I would have never thought of adding sesame seeds to pizza dough. My life was honestly changed after that because I'll go through periods of craving "that-pizza-with-the sesame-seeds". The other day we were running errands and passed Joey's and we had to turn the car around and get a few slices from here. If you are in Queens be sure to try the pizza here, it's honestly worth it. Currently, because of COVID seating is limited to like 2-3 guests but they definitely deliver and pick up is available. read more

Loved this place until recently when my go to Meatball Parm hero has been given the "less for more money" treatment. It used to come with 3 meatballs but now they have started using smaller bread and 2 meatballs cut in half. Oh well time to find a other spot. read more

Let's start with the good, there is no good. This place has gone WAY down hill since one of the owners past during the pandemic. The men in that place are absolutely sleezy and talk about every single person walking in young old black white everything in btwn. I've been living in the area for 8 plus years now and have been a decent customer, my family and I. I've had already a issue with one worker there for over hearing him talk disgusting about a friend and I but figured I'd keep going when that person wasn't working,since it's convenient after school for my son and I to grab something real quick. WRONG. The many times I've seen one of the pizza workers go ahead grab money out the register for a transaction touch a cup to give to a customer and THEN handle the food same hand no washing of the hands no glove nadaaa, I should have stopped going then but seeing one more time the other day in your face took the cake ! Repulsing and straight nasty! The pizza isn't great and anything to rant or rave about especially with Rosas down the street OR Phillies in middle village. My mom and step dad have been going faithfully either for take out or in person weekly but I will surely make them aware of everything that's happened in that place. This place never disappoints. I've been ordering here for about 8 years and the quality is always on point. You will definitely get your moneys worth. I took a picture of the half pepperoni half mushroom Sicilian pie that I ordered (the dark shaded area on the top left is poor lighting in my kitchen, it's not the pizza) The pizza dough has that delicious fermented yeast taste that I love, it's not a bland dough. The marinara sauce tastes pure of tomatoes and homemade, it doesn't have that acid herb taste from a jar. The garlic knots are also decent. I always order them. Their pizza is incredible!!! I've lived here my whole life so I know pizza and when I say this pizza is the best, believe it. Sauce is so flavorful, sesame crust is delightful and my fave, the deep dish, always has the perfect crust. They use the good cheese, so the pizza is not greasy. It's so good. I can't believe I had to enter this pizza place on yelp! This is my favorite pizza place of all time. I started coming to Joey's 2 years ago since my bf lives in the next town. Whenever I come (at least 2x a month), the bf strikes up a conversation with the owners (two brothers) since they go back a few years. The owners even recommended a good travel agency to us. There are always families and cops eating here so you know this pizza is delish. This is the only place I know of that has sesame seeds in the pizza crust. Myself, being a lover of sesame, can hardly contain myself with the thought of coming here. I've only had two types of pizza here, the chicken parm slice and eggplant slice. I'm not a fan of too much cheese so I always tell the guy not to add cheese before putting it in the oven. I also like the "older" slices vs. the slices that were freshly made so it's not as gooey. Make sure to put all the seasonings on, garlic powder, chili flakes, basil and enjoy! There's this big fat man that is always here everytime I go. I don't know what he does but he's always reading the paper or just "hanging out." I wonder if they pay him to sit here-that's why I'm taking one star away. The staff is always so friendly and I can depend on them for the classic New York Slice. I never ate the crust on any of my pizza - until I tried the sesame crust here. Now I can't get enough.
