I love Primark, I usually only ever got to shop it when I'm in the UK and some parts of Europe so when I saw that there was a Primark 15 minutes walking from our hotel I knew where I was going on one of our shopping days. I was a little underwhelmed at the selection, usually they have a really great options clothing, accessories and souvenirs. I did pick up some sunglasses for $6 which is a steal and some makeup goods. The team here were really friendly and the lines at the cashwrap went by so quickly. Definitely would come back just wish they would have more options. read more

Polite polite service. The young lady was helpful and made sure to let me know I had 28days to return any unused item with the tag on it. She was nice. Hey --- Macy's downtown Chicago: Are you aware that Primark employees send their buying customers to your store to use the bathroom since they have a theft problem and would rather your store deal with it? Maybe Macy's knows this already but now you know. One star for *this location. We were in town a few days and wanted to shop somewhere NOT found in California. A local recommended Primark. Well it didn't take long before we were profiled. I told my elderly aunt (who desperately needed to use the bathroom) NOT to buy from a store that labels you a thief but will take your money for their cheap items but not allow you to use their facilities because you might steal. I LOVE the Primark in Boston and accustomed to going to that location. I just happened to be in Iowa so I decided to take a 3 hr trek to check out Primark in Chicago. Glad to have gone to Chicago for the great vibes and eats but so disappointed at the shopping in Primark. The location is similar to Boston in its layout but that's where the similarities end. I didn't feel like this location had the same variety of items. And it especially did not have the same deals and bargains that I'm used to at Primark Boston. The workers were not super helpful. I asked someone if they had more stock of a specific item that I love from there and she had no clue and didn't really bother to try to answer me. I love a good shopping trip at Primark. The prices are very affordable and I feel a lot of the pieces are staples you could mix and match. Yesterday, they had a lot of items to choose from. There were many sweaters on clearance priced at $7-10. Even the original prices are great-- approx $12-18. I love to browse their purses. They have affordable versions of most high end classic styles. I paid $7 for a purse. Also purchased cute denim top. The location of this Primark is great for travelers staying at nearby hotels. You're able to shop, grab a bite to eat and a coffee all within close distance. Will be back for sure. read more

I had heard of Primark before and knew it wasn't an American chain. It's actually a Dublin, Ireland based store. Pretty cool! The store is close to Macy's in downtown Chicago. The store is really nice and I can't believe the prices! The employees were friendly and I wish we had one in Indy!!! This is a great place to get gifts as well as clothing, shoes, apparel, beauty, and home decor and I'm sure much more. They have a children's section as well with lots of cute clothes. Wish we had primark in Atlanta! This location is great. I've been to several in France, but the Chicago one is by far the best one I have been to. They have the best deals and the quality is good! For me it's the same quality you get from H&M or Zara but insanely cheap. They have trendy items and staples, and their cosmetic area has dupes for so many famous brands and they're actually so good! I just got a body spray that's supposed to be like sol de janiero and it was 4.50$! read more

First time visit to Primark today. A friend mentioned they had a large children's section so we went in to take a look. They definitely do, but I'm not sure it's worth it for me to shop here. It's an easy walk down here on my lunch break but other than that it's not super convenient since public transport isn't my bag. A couple things, like the infant sleep sacks, piqued my interest but the rest was hit or miss. On the one hand it can be nice to get cheap things for a baby who spits up on just about everything; on the other I feel some level of guilt over supporting fast fashion. So if I'm going to participate in that I might as well get it from Target or Amazon which are a lot more convenient. read more

Great store! I think it qualifies as "fast fashion" bc items of the same size will have slight differences. I noticed a medium pink cardigan/sweater had some threads a little loose, but another one in the back of the rack was perfect. Also, items of the same size will fit slightly differently. Most of the items are on sale. My beaaaautiful and lovely pink cardigan sweater was $12. They have a lot of cute jewelry and hair clips. Also bath materials like combs and makeup materials like sponges. I bought the biggest silver hoop earrings I've ever seen. So glam, so perfect. Wish I had one back home! read more

Hey fellow Yelp users! I went to this Primark location on Friday, March 17, 2023 to go on a shopping spree. I found some decent beauty clearance items and even some stuff for my boyfriend. One of my fave go to stores whenever I'm in the downtown area. Women's Section: The first section I always look at as soon as I go to this store. I didn't say anything good in the clearance sections. Btw, they are spread around the store, so always look for red signs with a price on it. As always, a cute selection of clothes. Also can't go wrong with $4.50 t-shirts. Beauty Section: They had some decent clearance items. I got 2 sets of 6 piece hair clips for $1 each & a hair turban for $1. Can't go wrong with $1 items am I right? Men's Section: This was my 1st time going to the men's section. They had some decent items. I ended up getting my boyfriend a DBZ breathable like material t-shirt for $16, which isn't bad for a DBZ shirt. I also got him some cute swimming trunks to match the DBZ shirt. They have lots of stuff from shorts, jeans, underwear, socks, etc. Overall Shopping Experience: Overall, I had a good time shopping here. I found some good beauty accessories & the 2 cutest keychains ever. I'm happy with my purchases even though I spent more on my boyfriend's stuff than my own stuff lol. Solid discount store. Similar to H & M. Can always find a good bargain in here. Especially good for basic items such as tees, leggings, and other accessory items. I have two pair of jeans that I got from this store and less than $12 bucks a pair. They have clothing for girls, boy, men & women. They have a nice section for home goods and plenty of cheap electronics. They also have good business casual attire for men. There are even some suits...not so sure about those. The shoe section is legit if you don't car about name brands. Definitely a store to visit if wanna save the bank from Michigan Ave prices. Now do you get what you pay for....absolutely. Do not put any cottons in dryer, they will shrink. Tip: try on clothes...cheaper to donate than return with the $7 an hour parking nearby. Date of visit: July 24, 2023 We just love Primark and seek them out when we visit new cities, or find one in a city we've visited before! There is always a lot to look at and at great prices that never fail to impress. While the stores often look like they've been attacked by Godzilla, this store was in much better shape than others we have visited. In short order we found a large number of gifts for upcoming occasions and walked out with SEVERAL bags. The bags are probably the one downfall of the store, they really only have one size and of a fairly dubious quality and that make it difficult to get a larger item we purchased home safely. though we did manage to do so. Don't forget to go to the top level and look at the Home section, they have so much more than you would think, and all at great prices. read more

Primark is great when you need something trendy, but don't want to blow your budget. I stop in occasionally to browse and usually leave with a handful of items. The store is huge and can get really chaotic, especially if you go on weekends or after work hours. There are usually a ton of employees tidying the racks, but it's an endless job. Sometimes you have to fight the crowds, but if you willing to stand your ground and dig, you can usually find a few cute pieces for a good price. Sizing is a little limited if you are petite, so I rarely find clothes that fit me here, but I love browsing the accessories, loungewear, and home goods. The quality isn't great and most of the clothes I've purchased here fell apart after a few washes. It's not somewhere I want to visit a lot, but when I need a beach bag, some cheap decor, or some trendy items, this is a great place to look. read more

I was very skeptical of this place, dirt cheap NEW clothes? It's not a designer discount place like Burlington Coat Factory, but rather clothes designed by Primark and made with mostly synthetic/recycled material. I was going to get 2 things so that I was not disappointed but ended up getting several things. Good idea from Joneice B to TRY on the clothes! I did not, and had to exchange 2 things that I bought, a workout bra and sweater. What CHART do they use for these clothes? I had to get an XS for a sweater, a size I never wear, and a larger size for a LARGE workout bra. It was crazy busy when I went in, a few days after Christmas, but the lines moved and everyone was professional. I even liked that they used paper bags instead of plastic. My two returns went fine, but I admit searching in the store can be hectic and disorganized. I had to search to find the same sweater in the same color, and it hung on several racks. I found the exchanges quick and professional (so sorry Bianca S!) but I am keeping to a 3 star review for now. I have not washed anything yet, so I want to see how long the clothes actually last before I go up one star. read more

If you're on a budget and you want to get twice what you can at a regular clothing department store, come here. Employees are nice and efficient. Primark has been a major disappointment each time I have been to this store. Each time I have popped in to check it out has been awful. The prices are super low so I'm guessing there is something for everyone's budget. So it's unclear why the security is so high to the point that it was uncomfortable to shop. It was filled with obnoxious tourists who seemed to forget that people live and work in Chicago. A tourist even took a picture of my husband and I without our permission. I was in town visiting family and my cousin told us about this place. We decided to go on Black Friday. I know it sounds crazy to go then. Walking into the store I was pleased with the first price tag I saw on sweaters;14.99 with a 40% markdown. We spent about 1.5 hours in the store taking advantage of markdowns and clearance prices. The women's shoes were not impressive to me and my daughter. Prices for intimate ware were though. I was able to get gifts for family members as well. I purchased 2 winter coats for under $80.00. My daughter was able to grab many items that she could wear in the winter and summer. We will definitely visit this store again on our next visit. read more

Marketing would like us to call this shtuff "fast fashion." It's fast, alright, but I didn't see anything fashionable here. Maybe you have a family of four to clothe or are a college student. Sure, save a few bucks and shop here for crappy bargain basement rags, where style and accessorizing aren't your first requirement when clothes shopping. I've been in this location and the one in Woodfield. They both have the same merchandise and non-existent customer care. Once you're ready to elevate your game, walk across the street to Macys or Nordstrom Rack and celebrate your adulthood. Primark looks like the kind of place where Ross, Kohl's, and TJMax send their tragic dreck that won't sell, even in their last-call sale bins. Garbage has to go somewhere, right? read more

First time I discovered Primark was in London summer of 2019. I was both amazed and overwhelmed by how humongous the store was. Hubby and I definitely walked over 3 miles before we got there. Shopping there was quite an experience. I remember been so tired from the walk that I didn't fully maximize my shopping experience. Upon leaving, I was shocked at all the quality items I picked up and at the price I got them. You can imagine my excitement when I found out we have one downtown Chicago. Located at 35 N State St at the intersection of State and Washington St. I was like yessssss, I get a do-over from London Primark is comparable to Target (please don't say Walmart). You will find women, men, children and household items. The prices are very very affordable. I remember hearing someone excitedly yelping at her friend saying the most expensive item she's seen in the store was $20 The quality is out of these world and the styles are very very decent. I wish the store was located on Michigan Ave rather than State Street. That way, I could do all my shopping on one street. But it wasn't too bad as Zara was only a stone throw from Primark. I hate to make this my review, HOWEVER, My colleagues and I were shopping at your downtown Chicago location around 1pm today on our respective lunch breaks. We work nearby and frequent your stores. In fact, I was wearing nearly everything Primark; my shoes, shirt, and top. I personally do quite a lot of shopping here as do my colleagues. While checking out, my coworker noticed that the price ringing up for her items did not match the price on the tagged item. The price ringing was $3.50 while the tag reflected $2.50. She was purchasing three of the same items as well as a pair of pants. She asked the cashier if they could call a manager to adjust the price. The first manager, an African American woman (I did not catch their name) completely dismissed my coworker. She even waved her hand in her direction in a dismissive manner after a brief discussion and walked away. At that point a second manager appeared by the name of Juan. This man became aggressive with my coworker immediately. Claiming he was not required to adjust the price. We politely explained that he was wrong. Illinois state law requires retailers to honor marked prices. I am completely shocked and appalled at how management treated my coworker. I cannot believe they spoke to her in such a dismissive and disrespectful manner. I truly believe if she were not a black woman they would not have treated her with such disdain. I will be following up with this issue. I am personally affected by this ordeal. Having to watch my colleague with whom I love and respect get treated this way will sit with me for a long time. I will be visiting this store until I can speak with the store manager. I will file a report with the BBB. I hope to hear back on this issue. And will keep bringing this situation up until I see some kind of response. read more

This was only my 2nd visit to Primark. The other time was when I was in Madrid several years ago. I really enjoy this store. They have different things available from clothing & accessories, to home goods. The price point is very budget friendly. The pajamas I purchased in Spain 4 years ago have held up well, so the quality is not bad. I mean clearly this is not high end fashion, but for the price, I feel like I got a good value for my money. I purchased 2 additional pajamas sets this go-round, so I'll see how long these last. I think shoppers of all ages can find something they would like here. The store was clean and the staff was very friendly. Hand sanitizer is available at the store entrance. I felt very safe shopping in store. I didn't take any pics. This is a fast fashion store. They have lots of trendy items for very low prices. Be sure to try on items because the fit can vary even among sizes. There are lots of cute items here in many sizes which is nice to see since so many stores have very few sizes or items on display and you are forced to order online. This location has 3 floors and right by the front door was crowded with shoppers kind of zoning out at the selection. Just hop on the escalator and go to the top floor and work your way down to avoid that. Others have said it, but I'll join in, the quality on these items can be hit or miss. My first visit to Primark was in Boston and I scored a raincoat that I have been wearing for years, so you never know. Each floor has a checkout area and a line with lots of impulse trinkets for you to look at while you are waiting. I have a few pairs of no show socks that I also got in Boston that a picked up in this line. Make this stop part of your state street shopping. read more

My first visit to this great city and I happen to come across Primark on the way back to the hotel one evening. Primark was brought to my attention about 10 years ago when a college friend who was studying in the UK came back with some merchandise and raved about this amazing retail store. I clearly remember her expressing that she wished Primark existed in the US. Well, old friend, Primark has made it's way across the pond. This store is Primark's first Midwest location. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to check out the three-story shop and made sure to carve time in my itinerary to stop by. Opening in March 2021, the store is very bright, clean, and inviting. There are sections for women, men, kids, babies and unique from most other apparel stores, home décor and beauty products too! Also, plenty of fitting rooms to try on your selections before considering purchase. Accessories start as low as $1.50! Snagged myself a pair of really comfy trousers for just $9. Even my bf who is not very fond of shopping picked out a couple pieces for himself! All in all, the price points for products here are very affordable. Honestly, if I knew Primark was only a stone's throw away from my hotel, I would have undoubtedly packed lighter for my trip. This rating is from the point of view of a father trying to let his daughters shop here. There is a seemingly good collection of clothing, at seemingly reasonable prices. Quality seems...meh. But the shopping experience leaves a lot to be desired. The changing room situation is chaos and takes 10 times longer than it should. My bigger gripe is that there is nowhere for a guest to sit while the rest of their party shops. I kept sitting on the pedestals by the mannequins. Staff kept trying to shoo me to the couches by the fitting rooms, which had perpetually-full seating for five. So I would return to the pedestals only for the process to repeat itself every few minutes. I finally sat in front of the store, like an unhomed person, and they tried to shoo me from there.
