Oh my. Where do I start? What an overrated restaurant. The service sucked. I have cooked better food at home. The bread was delicious. Everything after that was garbage, absolute garbage. The wedge salad was tasty, but let's be real - even a five year old can make a wedge salad. The filet was cooked well. But not worth the price. I felt like I was in a night club and I have had better service at an Outback Steakhouse (which I don't go to often, just saying for comparison). Also, the dessert was literally inedible. I'm a bit late in this review due that I dined here for Miami Spice but still wanted to chime in. Stripsteak had one of the Miami spice menu that stood out the most. It was a great value. I started with the pork belly which was delicious it had some pineapple, the balance of the flavors was spot on. For the entree I had the filet mignon which came with French fries and we ordered a side of their truffle Mac and cheese which was delicious. I used to live in Miami Beach for a pretty long time and the Stripsteak by Michael Mina was one of my favorite places as far as food goes. It's located inside the Fountainbleau Hotel. Unfortunately it is only good for the food. The service was horrible, every single time... We literally were going back just for the food. I do not want to bash them, but at the restaurant of this type they should've hire more professional employees First of all when we made our very first reso with them we let them know we have a Vegan person with us and asked if they have any options, we've been told yes and the Hostess confirmed she put that info into the notes. Once we arrived to the restaurant (20 min prior our reso time) we were not greeted or noticed cause their lovely Hostesses were busy talking to each other and our group as well as a few others were simply standing at the door waiting for them to pay attention. Long story short, my sister came up to their desk and said Hello and mentioned our reso name and the time. The girl at the computer gave her a mean look for interrupting their conversation and told the other girl to sit us. No menus, not a single word dropped along the way to the worst possible table - back in the main dining room next to the kitchen. Can you feel the level of professionalism? Me too. Moving on. When we got seated the waiter came over about 3-4 minutes later. Prior to that no one filled out our water glasses or came up to our table. We still didn't have any menus. Once our server finally made it to our table he asked us right away "What are you going to eat tonight". No greeting or introduction or even menus at the table. We asked for menus and he pointed to the desk. Like do I have to go back there and get it myself? Confused. Anyways. He left. My sister got up and went back to the desk to ask for the menus. Self service, yay, why not right... She came back with them and so did the server. Still no water or anything. Anyways, he started pushing us to buy their specials of the night although we didn't even get a chance to look in the menu. We asked him for a moment to make up our minds and also to give some suggestions about Vegan options. He knew NOTHING about one of us being a Vegan, let alone any Vegan options. Once again my sister went back to those Hostesses to confirm if the note was put in and the same blonde Hostess said there's no note and when my sister said she confirmed that while making the reservation over the phone she rolled her eyes and said "No, you didn't.". Oh, boy, sh*t show. Anyways, she ended up getting a plane Caesar Salad with tomatoes and some water. We got our fave Filet and that steak is all I was always back for. This is by FAR the best restaurant I've ever experienced. My wife and I went for our 5 year anniversary dinner. The sommelier suggested a red that paired perfectly with our meal. We had the Instant Bacon, Chateaubriand, trio of sides, chocolate ganache cake, and cappuccino. The Instant Bacon is a braised pork belly over a slice of pineapple. It also has a house made reduction. It was spectacular l, tender, and I would suggest it to anyone! The Chateaubriand (fillet for two) we ordered medium. It was cooked to perfection and more than enough for two. As a rule, my wife and I only salt and pepper "good" steak. It was already seasoned with just that. It needed nothing. The trio of sides we ordered green beans, mashed potatoes, and a loaded baked potato. All of them were great and also seasoned perfectly. Nearing the bottom of the bottle of of Pino Noir, we decided on dessert. We ordered chocolate ganache cake that seemed like it was the size of my head (I was feeling the wine). It was delicious and too much cake for the two of us. We enjoyed a cappuccino and called it a night. I go out to dinner often in Miami Beach and so it is not easy to impress me. However, I was impressed last night not only by my delicious meal but the amazing service I received, particularly from the sommelier. The meal was simply delicious what more can I say. My tomahawk steak was perfectly cooked to my desired temperature, medium. The best part of the evening was the expert service from our sommelier, Audrey Tiedman. Not only did she recommend a most wonderful wine for our meal, but was friendly and outgoing and engaged terrifically with us. She also treated us to some tasting of a wine that is very dear to us. Worst high end restaurant I've been at. Here's why it sucks: - overpriced food; I know it's a high end place but the food quality is just not worth it. - we had to wait 50 mins for the main meal after appetizers; it wasn't even busy. - the ribeye steak and burnt; they called it charred to add color & flavor- it was burnt and I had to scrape off the burnt bits. - they don't even validate parking (just give a discount of 10 bucks; valet packing was $25 for 3 hours!) - the valet turned on the music super loud and left a half empty beer drink in my car. The service here was great. Our waiter was the best we had during our time in Miami. He was very attentive and allowed us to go at our pace (with a kid we are always in a hurry). The skirt steak and filet mingnon were perfectly cooked and had the flavor to match. My girlfriend and I are staying at the Fontainebleau hotel and decided to try strip steak by Michael Mina. I have been to several Michael Mina's is the San Francisco Bay Area and I think this was the best one yet. Trevor our waiter was fabulous. He gave us great suggestions about the food portions. They are big so he suggested we split the food which worked out great. We are not big eaters and it was great. The ribeye was wonderful and my girlfriends key lime tart was delicious. If you ever go to strip steak, ask for Trevor. He's an all star. Also his assistant was phenomenal. Best Michael Mina experience I have ever had. Strongly recommend. read more

This restaurant is located inside of the Fontainebleau hotel. The food and service were excellent and worth every penny! They start off by bringing you truffle bread which is very fluffy and tasty. My Husband and I shared the Tuna Tartare and the Lobster pot pie, which is delicious, and very fresh. We finished the meal with the chocolate cake for dessert, it was very flavorful, but a little heavy after our meal.. Amazing dining experience for me and my Boo. We had gotten the Boyz II Men show and dinner package. Started our night at Strip Steak. For appetizers we ordered the pork belly and shrimp cocktail which was exceptional. For out entrees we ordered the filet mignon which can put lightly charred to perfection. I came here for my birthday with a group of six people. I must say I was not impressed at all. I ordered a very small sirloin, which was about 50 dollars. The steak was not even tender, and no flavor at all. I also ordered creamed spinach and the Mac and cheese. I've eaten better spinach at Longhorn for half the price. The Mac and cheese was not too horrible, however it barely had cheese. It was mainly the bread crumbs they put over it. I'm giving this place a 2-star for the dessert. The corn pudding was delicious. Full of flavor and just right, enough for a table of 6. The place is very nice, after all you're at the Fountainbleu. If you want good flavored food then go elsewhere. Will not re-visit. read more

Best dishes were beets and scallop appetizers. Main dishes were . We expected this steakhouse to serve good filet mignon, but any steak that really needs its side sauce to make it better is not good. (In this case I used every drop of the accompanying chimichurri, which wasn't even all that great). Go to The Forge to have great filet mignon. The mahi mahi was a joke- very bland with no flavor (its veggie side of brussel sprouts tasted so much better). Chocolate ganache cake would not have been good without the scoop of vanilla ice cream. Service- not very good. Server didn't even return after the main course to ask if we enjoyed it. So far from impressed and not returning. If you're at the Fontainebleau, go to Scarpetta, now that's worth it. read more

The food is as good as you will ever find, the preparation is perfect....simply perfect. It is just inside the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, go a little late and maybe start with a drink in the lobby bar...it is very Miami...glowing blue lighted floors and pink neon back bar...very nice. We had a wonderful waiter the the manager come over to say hello. We started with amazing stone crab, amazing but you are in Miami, right? This was a good as Joe's any day of the week, and a much more elegant club feel...not a Las Vegas vibe, but a good scene nonetheless. Told myself I would just have some crab and a scotch if they had any...they have a GREAT selection of scotch. I would test the bartender on the most obscure scotches and they had more than a few of them. Ok, enough crab....where is the steak? I order the boneless ribeye, which I rarely do, I usually go with a filet and fois gras...clearly a carnivore. But, since it is Miami, I went with a Crab Oscar topping...with the hollandaise sause on the side. Wonderful combination, would do it again. Stay away from the bread, seriously stay away from that stuff it will kill you...so delicious I made them take it away...to make room for the mac and cheese...how does that make any sense? I honestly did not catch the love at Strip Steak...extremely expensive and average food. The wine list is exorbitantly expensive with no middle-road options for those of us who can't exceed our work-trip per-diems. My real complaint was the service and the food. Our server disappeared and never checked back in. The beet salad was absurdly small for $16. I ordered the Mushroom Risotto which looked like soupy oatmeal and was extremely bland which had a bad flavor at its base...mushroom flavor was completely missing and there were no parmesan cheese shavings as mentioned in the menu. It badly needed salt and pepper which I had to flag down a server to get. Could really use a better base flavor...perhaps using a mushroom broth, and could really use some truffle or something. My colleagues liked their steaks and the Brussels sprouts were probably the highlight of the meal. I mean hello you are a steakhouse and you can't cook a steak to the right temperature. We were with another couple and a filet was ordered medium. Came out raw. One steak came out cold. Filet went from raw to rare when it's suppose to be medium. Cold steak came back hot but tasteless and chewy. Skirt steak still not pleasant. Worst of all my $72.00 Waygu steak was cooked properly but I took one bite that was rubbery like I bought a cheap sirloin somewhere No way was I paying $72.00 for that steak. Waygu should be soft as room temperature butter. At that point we were flying at high altitude cause our drinks, service and appetizers were great but then it was flame out on all engines and we were suddenly spiraling back to earth screaming. The restaurant is located in the Fountainebleau Resorts on Miami Beach. Nice size restaurant that has two floors of seating. We sat on the top floor by the bar. The restaurant is pretty new so everything inside was clean and immaculate with a modern decor. They were playing club music in the background. They have a full bar that has a TV to watch and a nice wine collection. We started our meal with a bottle of red wine, cosmopolitan, and I had the lychee martini. It was cold and tasty and came with a lychee spear. Then we shared the shrimp cocktail, duck and ricotta cavatelli, yellow tail sashimi, ceasar salad, and the BLT wedge salad. My favorite was the duck and ricotta cavatelli. It was a explosion of complex flavors in my mouth. The bead was ok. It's infused with truffles and comes segmented so it's easy to share. It's very dense and heavy. For my entrée I had the 28 oz bone in rib eye. It was Bad. It tasted bland but the worst part it was mostly Fat and Very Chewy! If I got 7 oz meat that was edible it was alot and it cost $69! Plus it was overly smoked. They took that off the bill and I tried the filet. It was ok. A little to salty for my taste. We shared the mac and cheese, creamed spinach, brussel sprouts, and yam puree. They all were good and tasty. The service was good and the staff was great. I wish I can give them a better review but this is what I experienced. Also they add a 18% tip for a party of 5. They gave my friend's mom a hand written Birthday card which was very nice. This restaurant is extremely expensive but my husband is always looking for places to hold important business dinners and for special patients to bring friends and family. We wanted to take this opportunity to sample some food items that the kitchen must be particularly proud of. The appetizer portion of the cavatelli was absolutely delicious. The pasta tasted homemade and the dish was well balance with The saltiness from the cheese and the unique flavors of the arugula pesto. We ordered the short rib which unfortunately was extremely tough and extremely dry. The dish was a huge failure. I tried the panroasted chicken which lacked flavor and tasted like the worst airplane food I have ever received. The portions were very small and the entrées were not edible. Due to this abysmal experience sampling their food during Miami spice week my husband says he will not come back with business colleagues or friends and family. So for a first time bucket list thing we decided to get the Golden Osetra Caviar. To my surprise we are brought the house made truffle butter bread. Pretty sure it's the best coolest bread I've ever had, purely magical once you slice into it. It has a nice little surprise inside. They brought us out appetizer before our caviar it was a tuna tartare and it was delicious, the caviar on the other hand was absolutely wonderful we got a great experience and we have a very funny story to tell our friends. Caviar has a very unique flavor very subtle. Really hard to describe. If you're expecting some insane flavor Caviar is not what your looking for. It is a delicacy and taste like a delicacy. The next item we chose was the "instant bacon" it is a pork belly dish that was devoured without complaints. Main course. Wow where to begin. Absolutely the best steak I have ever had.My family also said it was the best they have had also. We ordered the rib cap 95$ and the Japanese steak that is 32$ a oz five oz minimum. If your Looking to experience something different and unique with steak then this is a must try. The service might possibly be the most proper and attentive I have ever experienced. And example of this exemplary service is the fact that my wife requested white rice and they do not even have white rice on their menu and lo and behold my wife got a bowl of white rice to share with the table. read more

The menu is a 3 course meal. For my appetizer, I ordered pasta and for my entree I ordered the Filet Mignon and added jumpo shrimp. Both were so delicious and so filling. This venue is fine but it's overhyped by the location. I love a good steak and I've had some of the best - Charlie Palmer's in DC, NY, Jean Georges Steakhouse, Bavette's, Cut, you get the idea. This one landed lowest on my list, it's just "ok" in comparison to all the others yet pricier and uninspired service. We got the 50oz Australian Waygu Tomahawk which was good but a little under the medium rare we requested. Hamachi crudo was past it's prime, I only ate a small portion due to fear of food poisoning.
