I wanted a place that could provide care without hassle or judgment. I scheduled a consultation, which came at no charge. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed. The office is beautiful and very upscale. While sometimes cosmetic dental offices can feel intimidating, that was not the case here at all. Every staff member was welcoming, and the patient coordinator was absolutely amazing. After my X-rays, I explained to the doctor what I was hoping to do, and he was extremely supportive of my plan. Many people with significant dental issues feel insecure about their smile, and just talking about next steps can be emotional. I never once felt judged or uncomfortable discussing my situation or my decision to move forward with full dentures. The dentist made me feel completely at ease and respected throughout the entire visit. I would give this office a 10/10 recommendation. I also want to mention that, because it is a cosmetic dental office, I expected it to be extremely expensive--but it was actually more affordable than a regular dental office. The professional, kind, and truly caring staff--including Dr. Matt, Tracey, and the hygienist--are gone, and the quality has suffered dramatically as a result. I recently went in for a routine cleaning. During the procedure, I was told I had to wear the black plastic protective glasses, or I wasn't welcome there and should leave. When I explained to Dr. Timothy Luong that I'm severely claustrophobic and have a history of panic attacks from previous life-threatening surgeries, he showed zero empathy. He didn't listen to my concerns at all--he simply insisted on the glasses and, when I couldn't comply due to my medical condition, asked me to leave immediately. This complete lack of compassion and accommodation for a legitimate health issue was shocking and unacceptable. No effort was made to discuss alternatives or understand my situation. I felt dismissed and disrespected as a patient. I will never step foot in Ascend Dental again and strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this practice. She was very friendly and she did a great job cleaning my teeth. On my way out, I noticed they had a sign in the window that said a cleaning, exam, and x-rays was $59 for new patients. I'm not sure why I was charged $75, even with my insurance, if they're only charging other new clients $59. Overall, the medical professionals at this office were professional and competent. The wait time and total visit time took too long. And I feel like I overpaid considering they charged me more with insurance, than they do people without.
