After many trials and errors of a few landscapers coming out and assessing our property, my partner and I felt a little defeated that we weren't going to find someone who could deliver on our vision. My best friend referred us to Fritz Landscaping who had just recently gotten a gazebo installed and their back patio redone. During our initial meeting, Fritz listened to our ideas regarding what we wanted for our home. Fritz and his team surveyed our property & returned with a comprehensive plan; which included detailed drawings of our new Patio, Fire pit & half circle steps. The plan also included beautiful accent lighting to enhance the project. As he was presenting us with detailed plans of what he would suggest planting in each area of need, it was evident that Fritz's knowledge of planting options gave us what we were looking for. From tree removal, correcting our irrigation, the beautiful plantings, our patio, and outdoor lighting; everything was perfectly executed! They truly went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. Our yards did a complete 180° and transformed our curb appeal. We had Deck and Drive install a travertine patio. Two of our neighbors had used Deck and Drive, and…read morewe were impressed with the work and the fact that, in both cases, they came back to change things to be sure the customers were satisfied. In one case, they came back after a full year. I had questions about the contract, and their incredible representative spent over an hour with me answering every question. Now - as for the work: I was incredibly impressed with the very careful measuring done as the sand was being sloped just right for proper drainage. Everyone worked with me when we were delayed by our HOA. They also changed their schedule so that we could get a termite treatment done after they began the digging. The workers were polite, communicated well with me, and left our yard in perfect condition. We have faith that if something goes wrong, they will come back and fix it. I am a bit of a manager as work goes on in my house. They always made time to answer my questions. One remarkable part of the design and their mastery is that, when they looked ahead to where the patio would end, the layout would have left a very thin strip of tiles. They adjusted the size of the tiles in the design so that this didn't happen. Each worker told me what to expect in the next step and what to be sure got done. They even out the extra tiles where we wanted them in our garage. We love our beautiful patio!

Our experience with Deck and Drive (D&D construction) has been extremely disappointing. From the…read morestart, the work was full of mistakes, poor workmanship, and almost no communication. Pavers were installed in the wrong direction and wrong colors, the walkway was placed incorrectly, cement was left exposed, no underlayment was installed under the sand (so now we have weeds growing up through our pavers), and then they even installed pavers over an active sprinkler head. They repeatedly missed appointments, sent crews during all-day rain (so no work could be done on those days), and ignored our requests for basic protection around our home. Before D&D even started our project, they told our finance company it was "substantially complete," and they tried to collect full payment. Then later, despite the project being nowhere near complete, D&D again told our finance company it was "substantially complete" and tried to collect full payment. Due to the lack of progress, the quality concerns, and D&D's refusal to provide a corrective plan in writing, we no longer felt comfortable allowing them to continue. In response, D&D placed a lien on our home and threatened foreclosure. To protect ourselves, we felt forced into having to hire an attorney to try to rectify all the issues. We have now been in this lawsuit for well over a year, with pallets and sand still blocking our driveway, and our front entrance is still not fully usable. Based on our experience, we can not recommend Deck and Drive (D&D Construction). This review doesn't even represent all of the issues we have with D&D in regard to our project. There are so many issues, we can't even write them all in this review. Instead of addressing legitimate concerns and correcting their mistakes, they chose to pressure, misrepresent progress, and ultimately sue and threaten to foreclose on their customers. We are not the only customers to be involved in a lawsuit against D&D. We are #5.
