I recently visited this AYCE wagyu hotpot spot, and while there's potential, they definitely have some kinks to work out since they just opened. First, the positives: The soup bases were delicious, and I think the intro and advanced sets are reasonably priced. They offer a decent variety of cuts with pretty good quality. The wagyu itself was enjoyable, but the sushi and sashimi were disappointing. The fish-to-rice ratio on the nigiri was way off--far too much rice. The salmon tasted fine, but the tuna was mediocre at best. The toro and tuna sashimi were also not good--very chewy and tasted frozen. The salmon sashimi was passable, but nothing special. The truffle fries on the menu were also a letdown--they didn't taste like truffle at all. The shrimp tempura was another miss; the shrimp was overcooked, and the batter was way too thick. Service-wise, they have some serious work to do. The place felt very unorganized. We put our name down for a party of three and sat in the waiting area. Another party of three arrived after us, didn't even put their name down, and were seated immediately. That was really frustrating since we had been waiting first. Additionally, despite being a party of three, they kept giving us only two pieces of each item, showing a lack of attention to detail. When they brought out the soup base to our table, they just left it there without saying a word--no instructions, nothing. We had to figure out how to turn on the stove ourselves. Overall, they have some work to do, especially with service and organization. The wagyu is worth trying, but I'd skip the sushi, sashimi, truffle fries, and shrimp tempura for now. read more

I recently visited this new hotpot spot, which is known to offer A5 Wagyu, and I was pretty impressed! I have to be transparent and say that my boyfriend had actually been here before me, and had a bit of a stomach ache afterwards, but he claimed it must have been from the combination of rich, fatty meats, spicy broth, and spicy sauces. (Everyone has different sensitivities when it comes to a mix of all of that.) Despite that, he still enjoyed the experience and wanted me to try it too. I'm happy to report that, a few days later, none of that happened to me. Upon entering, the interior was giving off pretty upscale vibes from the dim lighting to the sculptures and elegant decor. I feel like it would be a good spot for a special occasion. For food, we opted for the Deluxe menu, which had high-quality cuts like A5 Wagyu and American Wagyu. I went with the sukiyaki broth, while my boyfriend chose the mild hot broth (and even at mild, it packed a lot of spiciness.) The sauce station was clean, well-stocked, and had a variety of options and some more appetizers. We ordered through a tablet, but also had plenty of friendly servers tend to us. For appetizers, the wagyu truffle stone rice, tuna and salmon tartare, and crispy abalone were really good, though I'd 100% pass on the truffle fries next time (they were disappointing.) We had a 100 minute time limit, but we found it more than enough for our small party. Overall, I had enjoyed my meal and would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking to try hotpot with a luxe twist. read more

My visit to Irvine for a taste of luxury hotpot turned into an absolute nightmare. What was meant to be a delightful culinary experience left me feeling utterly disgusted and completely let down. As I stepped into the supposedly upscale restaurant, the overpowering smell of mold hit me like a wave. The staff seemed completely clueless about the dishes they were serving, stumbling over their words as they attempted to explain the menu. The seafood, which was supposed to be a highlight, smelled absolutely rancid. Each bite was a gamble, and I found myself regretting every mouthful. And don't even get me started on the ice cream--it tasted like plastic, leaving a sickly-sweet aftertaste that lingered far too long. The spicy soup was a greasy mess, devoid of any real flavor. It was clear that the chef had no idea what they were doing, and seeing them using those hospital-like gloves while preparing our food only added to my unease. Despite the restaurant's pristine appearance on the website, the bathroom was shockingly filthy. It was obvious that cleanliness was not a priority for the staff. Paying the bill was the only luxurious part of the experience, but even that felt like a slap in the face. I wouldn't wish this culinary disaster on my worst enemy. Do not come!! Zeros across the board guys. Waitress was unhelpful and just kept walking away?? Lied to us about the portion sizes by like. A LOT. And then when we finally ordered and got our food-- one of the stoves was broken and we had to move our whole table-- half eaten food and sauces and everything. After eating a really sad meal to be honest (because apparently one (1) singular shrimp is supposed to be sharing portions), we waiting around and walked around until we could finally flag someone down. The last course of the set meal is a dessert-- which we had only at the very end been told that they were out of. So, as compensation, the manager told us that everyone in our party could grab a single serve ice cream on the way out. So, we went to do this. Once we reached the cooler, the waitress stops us in our tracks and tells us (a party of 4) that we can only take 2 ice creams. Girl.... Come on. And she was gonna fight us for it fr!!! We tried to explain what her manager told us but miss girl was not having it. So ok. We leave with 1/2 an ice cream per person. Fret not guys, the ice cream was delightfully and completely and totally melted. 0/10 I'm honestly in shock. How sad. TLDR: this place was a total mess. Don't recommend. There's so much good hotpot in the area, so don't be fooled by the fancy butterflies on the wall. read more

We usually come here in large groups to celebrate birthdays or for business meetings, and the restaurant always delivers an amazing experience. Get their private room or two long tables in common area. Their sauce bar is next-level--so many great options to mix and match. I previously saw someone doing a mukbang with ground chilies as a dip--Then I noticed this place actually has ground chilies as a dipping option, and I couldn't be happier! And let me tell you... pairing it with Wagyu was a total game-changer! The spice, the richness of the meat--SO GOOD! The service was incredibly slow - it took over 20 minutes just to get our meat plate, meaning in a 90-minute limited time slot, one could barely fit in 3 orders if waited for each one to finish. And we ended up only putting 2 orders as our toddler started to get really impatient after an hour. This felt like a deliberate tactic to limit how much you can order. On top of that, the tip was automatically set to 20%+ without giving us the option to customize it till we specifically asked. For the price and the experience, this was very disappointing. My first visit to Prime Pot for dinner in the weekend. This place is nice, the decoration looks great, I arrived early without a reservation, it was only a few minutes wait. The ordering was fast and simple, I ordered the American Wagyu, $70 with the promotion buy one get one free, all you can eat, with lots of appetizers, such as fried shrimps and sashimi. The server was attentive, always checking on us, we were so full, overall the price I paid was worth the overall value. There were also differnt types of melons and ice cream at the counter for dessert. I will come again especially when the weather is getting cold, it's good to have some hotpot. read more

I've had a really disappointing experience at Prime Hot Pot. In less than a year of being open, they've already changed their menu 4 or 5 times! Each change seems like a downgrade, and the options just keep getting worse. To make matters worse, their membership program is a joke - they diluted the benefits and had the audacity to claim they reserve the right to change what they offer, even after collecting money from customers. It feels like a classic bait-and-switch. The poor management is so obvious, and at this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if they go bankrupt soon. Definitely not coming back. read more

The whole concept of this is literally copied from X-Pot. As someone who frequents the other establishments, this place is clearly a ripoff from the interior to even the presentation.
