Love, love, love this spot! The experience here stands out from other hot pot places and I absolutely love it. The meat is always high-quality and consistent, but my favorite part is what they do once you're done with the meat...they make your leftovers into a flavorful ramen bowl! Nothing goes to waste and it's such a fun, satisfying way to end the meal. Plus, they top it all off with a little ice cream at the end! Every visit has been nothing short of wonderful. Highly recommend!

My group of 6 waited about 50 minutes but they kept on sitting people by two. We were given appetizers and drinks which was nice. I think the wait time can be improved. The waiter was nice.

I want to give a shout out to Cynthia who was our server here at Shabu Shabu Bar. She was so patient and pleasant with us and all the other guest. I noticed that she really listened to people and gave time to a small girl who had a book with her. Cynthia is truly special and defiantly made me and my husband want to return soon. - food was really good. (Even for non-spicy lovers. - drinks were smooth. The peach sake was a good choice. - Well priced for a nice experience. Thank you, to the staff. Thank you, Cynthia.

This place is amazing, we love the food, service and ambiance. The owner remembered me and it's been a few months since we have been here and I never leave hungry! The soup after the hot pot is incredible!

Service was great even though they were short handed. Food was good portions and delicious. The bar setting was fun and cheerful. My kids demanded I give this place a 5 star review. So good for kids, too!

This place slaps. Absolutely great for a weekly girl chat and super yummy. Love introducing this place to people that have never been.

Today's experience so far is disappointing. We got our yoko and still no drink and still no rice. I'll be asking a 3rd time. Cindy you need to come back.

Absolutely amazing experience!! Kimberly and Sandy are absolutely awesome!! Such great service. Our food came out very quickly and they were very attentive and so so so sweet. They have great hospitality and an amazing personality. We absolutely loved our experience here and would definitely recommend coming!! 10/10 experience & more!! Loved that they talked to us and created such an amazing experience. I got a medium choice ribeye and it was more than enough. So delicious!! Thank you both and Shabu Shabu for everything!! Ask the Community - Shabu Shabu Bar

Hello! I wanted to plan a holiday team party there, do you take reservations for a large group of about 14?

Hello! We take reservations depending on the date and time of the event but I’m sure we can work something out! Please call the restaurant during hours of operation and ask for Sandy to discuss the details. Looking forward to hearing from you! And…

Reservations for a party of 8?

For tonight? What time?

Do they have AYCE?

This is not an all-you-can-eat establishment.

Are they still closed for lunch?

yes

Can I buy a bottle of the hot drops?

No they don't sell it.

How does indoor seating work?

It used to be your party would sit together, then two seats apart and then the next party. max capacity of 14 people inside. Properly distanced, now most of SoCal went to the purple tier so I believe it's going to be all outside seating only, again!

Hey how does the curbside work here? We take it home and cook our selves or is it already cooked?

Hi! Yes, you get the exact same set up as you would dining here. All the protein and veggies come raw and you cook everything in a pot at home. Your meal comes with rice, sauces and all the fixings!

Is the lunch option available for dinner time?

Yes. I Believe so.

What is the amount of meat in regular vs large vs the combos?

I believe in the regular, you get about 10-15 slices?? - the large is double that.

Anyone know the brand they use for the habanero drops?

Pretty sure it's the million scoville hot drops. I found it on Amazon

Are the veggies & meats kept separate from the noodles and safe for people with celiac?

Veggies and meats were separate but there might be a chance of cross contamination based off of preparation, I would call and ask

What is the holidays hours?

Same, just call to confirm

The crispy rice patty is fairly flat, which is way better and offers far superior crunch than the thick ones. "New style" salmon sashimi with white truffle: delightful. I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants over the years, and this place easily ranks in my Top 3. Every piece was exceptionally fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. I have to admit, I'm usually not a fan of tuna. But the moment I tasted the tuna here, I thought, "Have I been eating fake tuna all my life?" It was that good--clean, rich, buttery, and unlike anything I've had before. Another pleasant surprise was the California roll. I've eaten countless California rolls, but this was the first time I had one made with real crab instead of imitation crab. The difference was incredible, and I was genuinely impressed. The restaurant itself is stunning. The interior design is elegant and thoughtfully done. What I initially thought was wallpaper turned out to be artwork by a renowned art director, which made me appreciate the space even more. And the fish-shaped light fixtures hanging from the ceiling are absolutely beautiful. Finding a truly outstanding sushi restaurant that I can keep coming back to is rare, and I'm so happy I found this place. This is the kind of sushi spot that turns first-time visitors into regulars. Highly recommended!

The vibes of this restaurant is very much an "drinks after work " vibe and the noise and busy dinner rush really makes you feel like you've been transported out of OC. Coming here with my young one and not drinking for sure is a different experience and I'm not sure if I'd bring my 4 year old again as the noise environment made him a bit overwhelmed after a long day. Yet, they were so welcoming and sat us immediately and let us order while waiting for our other friends. The last two showed up with the cake and they immediately took it to the back. All the food came out with extreme speed, but also accuracy and freshness. Everything, from the salmon belly with mushrooms, to the mackerel ponzu, to the gyoza, to the skewers, to the sashimi bowl was genuinely delicious; the fish was so sweet and fatty! The favorite of the night was definitely the salmon belly for us. We kept burning our tongues on the delicious fattiness, the piping hot juicy mushrooms. The mackerel ponzu was so chilled and refreshing, yet so tender! I thought the yuzu shio ramen and the gyoza was quite salty though. The brisket wrapped enoki was seriously juicy. Right when my mouth was stuffed with enoki mushrooms, they turned off the lights and I had to chew furiously while they sang to me. It was incredibly kind of them to cut the cake for us and there wasn't an additional fee for it either. Thanks to their beautifully efficient service, we were out the door by 12am sharp. It's been my third time coming here and I look forward to coming back very soon. Everything is reasonably priced and the service has always been impeccably thoughtful.

There's plenty of parking in the shopping center, but finding a spot immediately in front of the restaurant can be a bit challenging since you're competing with customers from several nearby restaurants and a coffee shop. It wasn't fully packed by the time we sat down. While he was busy chatting with another table, we were waiting for 15 minutes before the guy who seated us came to take our order. We ordered and noticed people who were seated much later than us got their food already. Another server who brought food to the table next to us noticed us and asked if we got our food yet. He double checked for us and main server hadn't sent our order to the kitchen. We had already waited 25 minutes in addition after placing our order. Our order came out very quickly after the realization. Unfortunately the lemon salmon sushi roll that came out seemed incredibly rushed. The roll wasn't tucked in so each piece we grabbed broke apart. The fried squid legs were good. The udon texture was good, but by the time our food came out, we weren't in the best mood. All the waiting and lack of service ruined our appetite. The 2nd server gave us a bag of salted noodle toppings to-go as a solace for the bad service? Though this location is bigger than the original, I'll be going to the Costa Mesa restaurant for better service.
