Love, love, love this spot! The experience here stands out from other hot pot places and I absolutely love it. The meat is always high-quality and consistent, but my favorite part is what they do once you're done with the meat...they make your leftovers into a flavorful ramen bowl! Nothing goes to waste and it's such a fun, satisfying way to end the meal. Plus, they top it all off with a little ice cream at the end! Every visit has been nothing short of wonderful. Highly recommend!

My group of 6 waited about 50 minutes but they kept on sitting people by two. We were given appetizers and drinks which was nice. I think the wait time can be improved. The waiter was nice.

I want to give a shout out to Cynthia who was our server here at Shabu Shabu Bar. She was so patient and pleasant with us and all the other guest. I noticed that she really listened to people and gave time to a small girl who had a book with her. Cynthia is truly special and defiantly made me and my husband want to return soon. - food was really good. (Even for non-spicy lovers. - drinks were smooth. The peach sake was a good choice. - Well priced for a nice experience. Thank you, to the staff. Thank you, Cynthia.

This place is amazing, we love the food, service and ambiance. The owner remembered me and it's been a few months since we have been here and I never leave hungry! The soup after the hot pot is incredible!

Service was great even though they were short handed. Food was good portions and delicious. The bar setting was fun and cheerful. My kids demanded I give this place a 5 star review. So good for kids, too!

Today's experience so far is disappointing. We got our yoko and still no drink and still no rice. I'll be asking a 3rd time. Cindy you need to come back.

Absolutely amazing experience!! Kimberly and Sandy are absolutely awesome!! Such great service. Our food came out very quickly and they were very attentive and so so so sweet. They have great hospitality and an amazing personality. We absolutely loved our experience here and would definitely recommend coming!! 10/10 experience & more!! Loved that they talked to us and created such an amazing experience. I got a medium choice ribeye and it was more than enough. So delicious!! Thank you both and Shabu Shabu for everything!! Ask the Community - Shabu Shabu Bar

Hello! I wanted to plan a holiday team party there, do you take reservations for a large group of about 14?

Hello! We take reservations depending on the date and time of the event but I’m sure we can work something out! Please call the restaurant during hours of operation and ask for Sandy to discuss the details. Looking forward to hearing from you! And…

Reservations for a party of 8?

    For tonight? What time?

    Do they have AYCE?

This is not an all-you-can-eat establishment.

Are they still closed for lunch?

    yes

Can I buy a bottle of the hot drops?

    No they don't sell it.

    How does indoor seating work?

It used to be your party would sit together, then two seats apart and then the next party. max capacity of 14 people inside. Properly distanced, now most of SoCal went to the purple tier so I believe it's going to be all outside seating only, again!

Hey how does the curbside work here? We take it home and cook our selves or is it already cooked?

Hi! Yes, you get the exact same set up as you would dining here. All the protein and veggies come raw and you cook everything in a pot at home. Your meal comes with rice, sauces and all the fixings!

Is the lunch option available for dinner time?

    Yes. I Believe so.

What is the amount of meat in regular vs large vs the combos?

I believe in the regular, you get about 10-15 slices?? - the large is double that.

Anyone know the brand they use for the habanero drops?

Pretty sure it's the million scoville hot drops. I found it on Amazon

Are the veggies & meats kept separate from the noodles and safe for people with celiac?

Veggies and meats were separate but there might be a chance of cross contamination based off of preparation, I would call and ask

    What is the holidays hours?

    Same, just call to confirm

I can understand how business owners, managers, servers, and customers are all caught within the vicious fluctuations of markets and so on. However, what I was recently served at Kaizen Shabu last week was, to my mind, an egregious example of a restaurant offering well below the bare minimum of what should be expected for the prices listed (and my photos will show this, I believe). At the outset, I want to say I have no grievances with the servers. Our server was kind, attentive, and was elegantly multitasking. Bravo. Now, the food: we ordered the salmon "sashimi" plate, and what we were handed was a platter of the thinnest, grainiest, obviously-thawed and poorly sliced salmon I've ever eaten in my life. I was a bit shocked. At Cal Shabu Shabu (and other shabu places I tend to frequent more often), sashimi is... sashimi. It *looks* like sashimi because it IS sashimi: a piece of salmon purchased by the restaurant and knife-cut into appropriate portions depending on what portion size the customer has ordered. It is sashimi that gleans in the light, where the striations of fat and tissue are visible to the naked eye on the fish itself. As you can see from my photos, we were served paper-thin salmon that I could barely peel off of the plate with my chopsticks without ripping the fish into smaller, grainier pieces. It was all but inedible, in my opinion. This is not sashimi, and to serve such a thing for the price listed is beyond atrocious: it is an outright deception. Now, onto the side of veggies and noodles that come with every order of meat or fish. Perhaps the cooks could not be bothered, but what I received was broken tendrils of 2-inch udon haphazardly thrown into a bowl. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the chefs, with a dwindling supply of food nearer the end of the night, or if this restaurant truly does not care about the quality of what they are serving customers. Again, I think my pictures speak for themselves. I used to love coming here as the atmosphere was chic, and the servers are so kind. After my last dining experience, however, I cannot justify the price of my bill in the face of the quality of the food I am being served. I won't be returning, sadly. I hope the manager has an opportunity to look at these photos and perhaps reassess what can be done to improve what they are serving their customers.

The menu was QR code only, I know this is a downside for some, not so much for me, but worth mentioning. For two of us, our total was around $40-something. The food itself? Delightful. Attentive staff. The sauces available on the table were good. I did opt for mild heat level, since I like enjoying my food and not panting like I'm in Hell in this heatwave, and the broth was very good.
