I purchased a series of laser treatments, contracting for a total of $1,750 and making a half payment of $875. During my first session, the settings had to be dialed down significantly due to a medication I was on (Rinvoq). Because of this incomplete treatment, my aesthetician explicitly promised me a fourth session to make up for it and confirmed this amendment to our agreement in writing via text. Due to a permanent change in my travel circumstances, I am no longer able to commute from San Diego to Portland to finish the package. When I asked for a refund for the unused portion, management completely went back on their word. Per our written agreement for a 4-session package, the per-session rate is $437.50. Having completed only one session, I utilized $437.50 of my $875 payment and am legally owed a cash refund of $437.50. Instead, management chose to play dumb, completely ignored their own written text messages, and used a 3-session calculation to withhold my funds and offer a mere $292 in product credit, store credit, or credit transferable to a friend. I even laid out the exact math for management via email, showing how they were manipulating the numbers to keep my money, and they still refused to honor it. It is incredibly disappointing that a business will not stand by what its own staff puts in writing. Because they refuse to act ethically, I have officially filed a formal complaint with the Oregon Department of Justice Consumer Protection Division. Buyer beware--they will not honor their written agreements.

I didn't mind paying that and I felt confident in her skill level after the consult, so I booked an appointment for a cut. After several occurrences of me needing to reschedule (maybe was a warning sign?), I went in for my cut in March 2023. When I arrived, she seemed a bit frazzled from an earlier issue with her Quickbooks but then we settled in. She did a scalp treatment, washed and detangled before starting to cut. She kept reassuring that she'd communicate throughout the cut, knowing how sensitive some people can be. Sounded great, but I did not get that. I went from a full head of curls to a hacked haircut that I'm still struggling with a year+ later. It has not been the same since I went in to see her, which I attribute to not only a poorly executed haircut, but a technique where she used a razor to thin my hair out. I NEVER WANTED THAT. I take pride in and loved my full head of hair, I didn't even have a chance to protest before she was shaving off hair with the razor. I left the salon shell shocked and panicking at the state of my hair. Never want to feel that way again. See photos for proof. She definitely knew the cut was poorly done because she emailed me a few days later and offered to "clean it up" and to provide some scalp stimulation treatment. Nice offer and I took her up on it but, never would I recommend or return for a haircut. Never.

It had a homey feel and the ladies working there were so friendly and welcoming. They offer hair services in the front and had rooms in the back for head massages. It was such a relaxing 60 minutes to get a deep scalp massage and some neck and shoulder work too. Our hair smelled so nice after blow drying and the hot Vietnamese tea they offered really rounded out the whole experience.

I also had difficulty getting a clear and consistent list of all products used, which made it harder to understand what may have caused the reaction. That said, they were responsive and ultimately offered a partial refund and acknowledged that more care should be taken to avoid the eye area during treatments. Overall, I'd recommend extra caution with application techniques around sensitive areas like the eyes, and clearer transparency about products used, especially if a client experiences a reaction.

But like I usually do when I want to try a new place for something....I called first. I've been a business owner and I've done Groupon. You get basically nothing and a bunch of cheap people trying to get a deal. What I don't like is businesses like this " claiming covid" charging people a $44 cancelation fee without a way to cancel or have a human answer the phone. The machine is down they said... how funny. At the end of the week again.
