I've driven by this place a bunch of times and finally decided to stop in. I almost never order a whole pizza when I'm checking out a new place. I always get a slice first, and if it's really good, I'll come back for more. If not, I move on to the next place. Today happened to be one of those move on situations. I went with the Boston Sicilian slice. Right away I noticed the slice had been sitting in the counter display for a while, and I was hoping they wouldn't give me that one, but they did. They popped it in the oven for a couple of minutes and brought it out. The slice actually had a nice amount of marinara, ricotta, pesto, and melted cheese, and there was a little olive oil that added some nice flavor. The crust had a good crunch on the outside and stayed soft inside, but it wasn't as thick and airy as a traditional Detroit-style pizza. The dough also had a noticeable sourdough taste. Overall, it wasn't a bad slice, but it definitely wasn't a great one either. I think if it had been fresh out of the oven instead of sitting on the counter display, it probably would have been a much better experience. I've heard a lot about Prime from people who really like their pizza, so I finally stopped in to check it out. To start, the shop itself is nicely appointed, clean as a whistle and decorated with some fun posters. TV's show sports, and music plays lightly, so you have an upbeat place to grab a slice. Staff is also nice as can be; very friendly and accommodating, and moving quickly to get people served. I opted to try 2 slices: the Spicy Pepperoni Sicilian, and a traditional slice of Plain Cheese. The square slice had a focaccia style dough that was airy on the inside while crisping to an appealing crunch on the bottom. The sauce had seeped into the porous dough a bit, so there was a good deal of tomato flavor without there being much excess sauce atop the slice. Cheese had melted nicely, and the cup & char pepperoni had a good punch of flavor. Calabrian chili added the extra spice that made the slice pop, and I really enjoyed this version. I was less enamored of the Traditional Cheese Slice. In this case, we had traditional pizza dough, still light and crispy, but without the airy bubbles of the square slice. Because of the dough, the sauce remained atop the pizza more, and there wasn't enough cheese to balance it out. Also, the slice was relatively small -- not the usual "slice pie" size that you'd expect to get. Combined with the other slice, I was okay, but had I just bought this small triangle I would have been a bit peeved. Overall, the traditional was nothing I would come in for again if I could go to Joe's, Mulberry Street or Slice House, but I would return for the Square slices and try some of the other options. read more

I'm glad I have this place around the corner from my house in Woodland Hills. I love the pizza here, I usually order the Spicy Pepperoni Square pizza. I love this pizza, the pizza is saucy and cheesy and the Calabrian Chili gives it a nice spicy without being too overpowering. The crust is also really crispy. I'm not a fan of pizza, but this by far, hands down is the best locally. Love love love the spicy pepperoni pizza and their Hawaiian. But anything as long as it came out fresh out of the oven was awesome as well as when we heat up if we get left overs. We celebrated my son's quick little gathering for his birthday there and Heather and the staff was amazing in helping us out make it such a great experience for the kids. I loved my first experience here. The amount of value and flavor you get is hard to come by these days. 4 slices cost us $22 and that was plenty of food for my gf and me. Both the thick squares and thin slices are great, but if I had to choose one, I'd stick with the squares! Tried the arrabbiata pizza via delivery from Prime Pizza. I didn't realize that it would be such a large pizza! I'm only one person so it lasted me two days. Next time I'll likely go into the store and order slices, but I'm really glad I tried it. We are very lucky to have Prime in Woodland Hills. Even though this location is new, the quality is consistent with the other location I normally get Prime from (Burbank). The owner (Zak Fishman) was there when I stopped. I am glad he knows exactly how the place is running as they've really raised the bar on what good pizza can be produced right here in Los Angeles. This review shouldn't hold much weight as the location is still new and everyone is figuring out how to run the location and work with the local demand. If there is a need to drop my rating, I will. I certainly will be ordering from them regularly to monitor their very high quality pizza! If you can't decide, the classic cheese is good, but we really love the arrabiata and white pizza. While waiting, I helped myself to their water station by the door. They heat it up and then brought the pizzas out to me. The pizza is very light and airy and to be honest, 2 slices was not enough to get me full because it was so light and definitely not as fulfilling as a Costco slice. Overall, I enjoyed the pepperoni more than the the vodka. The pepperoni was good and crispy. I like the sauce, but I can see that the pizza here will be way better if it was a fresh pie. I still prefer Prince St. over this place for about the same amount of money. Only issue is the closest Prince St. is in Agoura HIlls. Will I come back, maybe. It wasn't good enough for me to come back here. My friend told me about it and its history. He brought us a Sicilian pie for dinner. It was the basic cheese and pesto one because he doesn't do meat. I was pleasantly surprised with its flavors....very similar to Detroit pizzas. It was a square pie nice and crispy on the edges....my guess is they used Brick cheese from Wisconsin which is the common and cheese for Detroit pizza. It should be noted that Detroit pizza was born out of Sicilian pizza. Water hydration most likely is 70% therefore it's a nice airy pizza where you could eat a few slices without being full unlike Chicago pizza that sits in your stomach like a brick. Really nice staff! They were helpful and approachable. My first time it a Prime. I am normally a NY-style pizza person. I have to say, I really liked the deep square Grandma.
