Outside the shop in Woodland Hills

I've heard a lot about Prime from people who really like their pizza, so I finally stopped in to check it out. To start, the shop itself is nicely appointed, clean as a whistle and decorated with some fun posters. TV's show sports, and music plays lightly, so you have an upbeat place to grab a slice. Staff is also nice as can be; very friendly and accommodating, and moving quickly to get people served. I opted to try 2 slices: the Spicy Pepperoni Sicilian, and a traditional slice of Plain Cheese. The square slice had a focaccia style dough that was airy on the inside while crisping to an appealing crunch on the bottom. The sauce had seeped into the porous dough a bit, so there was a good deal of tomato flavor without there being much excess sauce atop the slice. Cheese had melted nicely, and the cup & char pepperoni had a good punch of flavor. Calabrian chili added the extra spice that made the slice pop, and I really enjoyed this version. I was less enamored of the Traditional Cheese Slice. In this case, we had traditional pizza dough, still light and crispy, but without the airy bubbles of the square slice. Because of the dough, the sauce remained atop the pizza more, and there wasn't enough cheese to balance it out. Also, the slice was relatively small -- not the usual "slice pie" size that you'd expect to get. Combined with the other slice, I was okay, but had I just bought this small triangle I would have been a bit peeved. Overall, the traditional was nothing I would come in for again if I could go to Joe's, Mulberry Street or Slice House, but I would return for the Square slices and try some of the other options.

3.5 stars but I'll round up. Tried the badmaash collab. Good robust flavors and very strong spice and creative. Also tried the vodka slice and had a good crust and flavor. However the slices given to me didn't really feel fresh- I don't think it was reheated or if so not well cause the slices given felt like it had been sitting out

man, called in the order early maybe like 30 mins and it STILL wasn't ready after some time had passed and waited an extra 20 mins. I understand a heavy rush but not like that. it was nice inside and felt like a cool place to eat. Food was ok nothin really stood out but that's just me, a lot of people really like it.

    Nice selection of slices!

A very worthy cheese pizza at this spot. They heat it up in the oven for you and it tastes great. The slice has no flop, with a bit of a charred undercarriage and the cheese on top has a rich, yummy taste. One of the better cheese slices in LA! The location itself is very nice, with open kitchen, sporty decor and a bright, welcoming color choice for interior. The interior has many tables for dining in and a TV to watch sports. The customer service was excellent. Will definitely come back again!

I'm not a fan of pizza, but this by far, hands down is the best locally. Love love love the spicy pepperoni pizza and their Hawaiian. But anything as long as it came out fresh out of the oven was awesome as well as when we heat up if we get left overs. We celebrated my son's quick little gathering for his birthday there and Heather and the staff was amazing in helping us out make it such a great experience for the kids. They want to go there for their meets ups now. The place is constantly clean and we love coming there.

Prime Pizza is now in the West Valley and I am hooked! The pizza selection is great and delicious. I love that they offer pizza by the slice. I like having the option of getting a couple slices of different types of pizza, e.g. New York style (thin crust) and Brooklyn/Square (thick crust). They also offer gluten free and vegan pizza options. Garlic knots are soft, buttery and garlicky and come with marinara sauce. Every time I walk in I am greeted by friendly staff. It's a casual spot that offers seating & is good for small groups. They also have a few tables outside too. P.S. They have a Rewards/ Loyalty program. 1pt for every $1, when you reach 100pts, $5 off. For your birthday, you get $5 off.

Came here during slice hour so all slices were only $3. Great deal and all of these slices were delicious. The white pizza was surprisingly my favorite, it was like a cheesy garlic bread. The grandma was also delicious. You can't really go wrong with any of the flavors

I loved my first experience here. The amount of value and flavor you get is hard to come by these days. 4 slices cost us $22 and that was plenty of food for my gf and me. Both the thick squares and thin slices are great, but if I had to choose one, I'd stick with the squares! The spicy pepperoni was my favorite since it's actually spicy and the pepperonis were super crispy! The thickness of the squares is perfect because they aren't so thick that you're destroying the roof of your mouth with each bite. Even the best pizza I've had in SoCal, Apollonias, fell short here. Who else you know selling pizzas this BIG with this much quality? Exactly! Prime pizza gives you variety with some of the best cheese pulls around. They even offer happy hour for PIZZA it's called the SLICE HOUR! All slices $3 from 2-5pm. There's more, they also have salads, subs, wings and Italian ice for dessert. On top of that the employees are cool a** people. I also met the REGIONAL manager which was super dope. Stay Tuned!

    BBQ Chicken Cheese and basil
    Keveen M.

Prime Pizza never misses, and the Canoga Park spot is no exception. I got a half BBQ chicken and half cheese with basil, and honestly, this is peak LA pizza. The crust is that perfect balance crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle, with just the right amount of char. The BBQ chicken is loaded with flavor, and the cheese + basil side keeps it classic and fresh. I usually get the half cheese half pepperoni but this was a nice change. What I love about Prime is that it's consistent no greasy mess, no heavy, weighed down feeling, just quality ingredients done right. Easily my favorite pizza joint in LA. The new Canoga Park location is super chill, plenty of space, easy parking, and the staff keeps it moving fast. They also have Gelato, never tried it but thats a plus! Whether you're grabbing a quick slice or taking a whole pie home, it hits every time. If you're a pizza lover, Prime is the move.

    Arrabbiata pizza
    Devin G.

Tried the arrabbiata pizza via delivery from Prime Pizza. I didn't realize that it would be such a large pizza! I'm only one person so it lasted me two days. Next time I'll likely go into the store and order slices, but I'm really glad I tried it. I look forward to trying more of their pizzas and getting it hot and fresh (was still warm via delivery, but not hot). Will update my review when I go in, but for now I really like this place and I'm glad they're here. I've always like Prince Street Pizza, but now they have some competition!

Another overdone, tasteless cheese pizza from Prime.
    Brad K.

All I wanted was a hot n delicious cheese pizza. Sounds great right? Simple, right? What I received was so poorly made that you could see the this layer of sauce through the thin or non existent cheese. And to top it off, the pizza was so overdone on top but wet and soft underneath and the overcooked cheese was hard as a rock. There's no excuse for this. I can't believe I paid over $25 for this! Shame on you Prime. Shame on me for not learning my lesson the first time. This is the 2nd time I've had this happen to me. At least you're consistent. Definitely gonna stick with Joe's in Sherman Oaks or Lido Pizza in Van Nuys.

Maccheroni Republic - Life is full of pasta-bilities!…read more So if you know anything about me, you know that I love pasta more than just about anything. While I can only officially claim about 12% Italian heritage, I'm 100% down for Italian food, especially homemade pasta, any day of the week. I'm spending this week in Little Tokyo for a conference, and while Japanese food is also absolutely my jam, when Maccheroni Republic slid into my Yelp feed, I knew that I had to hoof it over there immediately after we broke for the day. I saw the front of the building, and my heart sank because it looked closed, but then I noted the sign that indicated that the entrance is on the right side of the building through the courtyard. Thank goodness! I strutted through the courtyard, and observed about 15 people waiting for tables. Unbothered, I went up to the host stand and chatted with the stylish maitre'd - Dino - who indicated that he could have a table for me in 7-10 minutes. I proceeded to wait and I watched how he deftly sat the other waiting parties in order without difficulty or notes. To the untrained eye, it might have looked a little chaotic, but Dino absolutely knew what he was doing. About 15 minutes later, Dino sat me at a corner deuce in the inside dining room where I had a nice view of everything. Angel efficiently took my order and did a very good job of overseeing my table as well as about nine others. The dining room is so cute and homey, and the patio is a welcome respite from the bustle and business of downtown. Since I was "da sola" or on my own, I just tried the shrimp cakes and I ordered the Rigatoni all Norma which is one of of my go to pasta dishes since I don't eat much meat. Incidentally, this dish is named after Norma, the famous 19th-century opera composed by Catanese native Vincenzo Bellini. According to legend, a famous Sicilian playwright, Nino Martoglio, tried the pasta and was so overwhelmed by its perfection that he exclaimed, "Chista è 'na vera Norma!" ("This is a true Norma!"), comparing the culinary masterpiece to the musical one. So says Wikipedia anyway. The shrimp cakes were delivered quickly by a sweet food runner who kindly checked on me periodically during my dinner. The four shrimp cakes were accompanied by sauteed onions which paired really nicely with the crispy cakes that were brightened with a spritz from the fresh lemon wedge. She also brought a basket with four slices of Italian bread which I enjoyed with the EVOO and Balsamic that were on the table. My Watermelon Ciao was also so good. It was sweetly tart and such a nice treat on a Monday! Not long after I polished off the shrimp cakes, the rigatoni was delivered and dusted with a generous layer of parmigiana. The little fresh mozzarella pearls glistened on the top of the pasta and slowly melted and oozed into the sauce as I stirred it up. Yum! The rigatoni were al dente and delicious, and they were perfectly sauced. Of course, the eggplant was perfectly cooked as well, I only wish there had been a few more pieces of it - although by the time I ate the last noodle, I was so full! Alas, I had no room for dessert, but I intend to bring some of my conference colleagues back for a meal before the end of the week because it was THAT GOOD. I also loved that this place is NOT pretentious at all. There were all sorts of folks enjoying their food here from medical professionals in scrubs to college kids in shorts and t-shirts, and I was also very casually attired, but I was treated well and welcomed with graciousness and delicious food! Mille grazie Maccheroni Republic, Dino, Angel and everyone at this wonderfully lowkey yet fabulous trattoria.

The menu is inviting with plenty of great options without being overwhelming. Less is more. But let's talk art (culinary, that is). The dishes certainly deserve main features. To start "the best Caesar salad in LA" and I quote which was certainly true. Grilled octopus charred on the inside and juicy at the center. Spicy pomodoro is perfectly al dente and a well-balanced sauce. But, my favorite-- the agnolotti! Wow, melt in your mouth! The flavor profiles of corn, crème fraiche, and old bay were delicious. My only wish -- larger serving of this (smallest pasta serving on the menu). To complete it, banana pudding tiramisu -- delicious too with a firm center and oozy outside. Atala was wonderful and very sweet. Recommendation: come with a group of at least 4 to try more on the menu -- the large plates (branzino and ribeye) looked excellent! Definitely a worthwhile visit.

We came on a Thursday night as a group of four and the place was pretty busy. From everything I've heard, Cento is one of the more popular pasta spots in LA right now, so I was excited to finally try it. We started with the radicchio salad which was delicious. Light, refreshing, and tangy, a great way to start the meal. For pasta, we ordered the Spicy Pomodoro, Sweet Corn Agnolotti, Broccoli Bucatini, and the Cavatelli Finocchio. Honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite because every single one was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauces were flavorful, and each dish felt unique. My only complaint is that the portions are a little small. I understand they're meant for sharing, but to be honest I probably could have eaten all four by myself. At around $30 per plate, this definitely isn't a cheap meal. One thing that was a little disappointing was that it was my fiancée's birthday and I had noted it on the reservation. We noticed another table receiving what looked like a special birthday dessert, but nothing was mentioned for us. My fiancée didn't want me to ask about it, so we just let it go and ended up getting dessert elsewhere. Not a huge deal, but it was a bit of a letdown. That said, the food itself was absolutely outstanding. If you're a pasta lover, this place is definitely worth checking out.

There are small garlic pieces inside, but that's what explodes the bread with amazing flavor. If there's anything you need to get, it's the garlic bread for sure.   Caesar Salad (5/5) Also an amazing starter! Sitting outside in their back patio was enjoyable, while the indoor dining area is cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Everything looks appealing and well-presented, but unfortunately, much of the food lacked flavor. I ordered the Pappardelle Genovese pasta, and although it looked delicious and had plenty of meat, it was surprisingly bland. I even added sea salt to try to enhance the flavor, but it was still only average. The pizza wasn't bad, but it's not something I would order again. The drinks were fine and looked cute, but nothing particularly memorable. My favorite item was the beet salad. It was delicious and well balanced, with mixed greens, goat cheese, hazelnuts, and a balsamic vinaigrette. That was definitely the standout dish of the meal. Overall, the ambiance, decor, and presentation were better than the food itself. While it's a nice place to visit and enjoy the atmosphere, I probably wouldn't return for the food.

Andrés was an absolute professional--his knowledge of the menu was outstanding, and his recommendations made the entire experience even better. It strikes the perfect balance between elegant and lively. Mother Wolf isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience. The quality of the food is undeniable, and it's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. That said, I was disappointed to see the automatic 5% wellness charge added to the bill. While I understand the intention is to help fund employee benefits, I don't think customers should be put in the position of directly subsidizing them through a separate fee. Yes, you can ask to have the charge removed, but doing so makes you feel like the bad guy--as if you're choosing not to support the staff. Why not simply incorporate the cost into the menu prices? Add a couple of dollars to a pasta dish or adjust pricing accordingly. At least then the cost is transparent and built into the dining experience rather than appearing as an extra charge at the end of the meal. Mother Wolf is already an expensive restaurant. Cocktails can easily run around $30 each, so it's hard not to wonder why employee benefits are being passed on to guests as a separate line item. The food and service were excellent, but the wellness fee left a bad taste in my mouth and would make me think twice before returning.
