What is there to say about Cento Pasta Bar? A lot. Get ready. I first heard about acento on the Michellene website- I was trying to find a nice spot to grab a quick dinner. I saw a picture of what I thought was a pesto pasta and was instantly intrigued (I am kind of a pesto fan) and saw it was just down the road. I got a reservation and went. Each time I've gone- I've never been able to sit right away even with my reservation (which is slightly embarassing)- but is a good sign that a place has good quality food. If this review is boring you- the TLDR is the gem salad is absolutely INSANE!!! It's so good you might want to get a couple. You will never have such a good Cesar salad ever in your life- I would bet anything on it. The spicy pomodoro is my favorite pasta they have. The bologense is my least favorite (literally looks and taste like chef boyardee) but everything else falls between those two.

My experiences at Cento Pasta Bar are always excellent. Their tasty menu selections are always a tad bit exotic, but are also simultaneously familiar & palatable. In particular, I count their pomodoro dish, lamb dish, and squid ink dish as favorites. Their wine and drink menu presents a sizable array of options, but isn't so large that one would get overwhelmed looking at it. The very kind & amiable staff at Cento Pasta Bar who facilitate the end-to-end dining experience make for such wonderful service, in every aspect. It's always a pleasant experience dining at Cento, and they're my favorite restaurant in Mid-City.

Cento Pasta Bar was rated one of the best restaurants to get pasta in LA for a reason! I hadn't been back in a couple years so I was hoping they were as good as I remembered. It has a cute little secured patio in the front and minimal tables inside with several counter seats. It's cozy and intimate, but definitely on the warmer side inside, especially if you have counter seats. Our server was great, very attentive and welcoming. We started with the hamachi crudo and radicchio salad. The crudo presentation was beautiful but had a bit of a fishy aftertaste and the coconut cream they paired it with didn't really go well. The radicchio salad was loved by my friend who devoured it. I thought it was a bit too sweet for a salad as the dates and raspberries overpowered any acidity or citrus. For our entrees we got the spicy pomodoro and their special pasta. The spicy pomodoro was great, but wasn't spicy at all. The special was fantastic! I would come back again but I would skip the appetizers and just stick to the pastas.

I celebrated my anniversary here and had a great experience. The food came out fast and the service was fantastic. Our server recommended the sweet corn agnolotti and it was amazing, definitely favorite dish of the night. We also loved the charred octopus, the sauce that it was paired with was phenomenal.

Cento is located a little in the cut, but definitely worth seeking out. I came for dinner and we had some really outstanding dishes. Of the things we ordered, I really loved the farro salad ($22?) best. Refreshing pomegranate seeds are mixed with the farro and give the salad an added crunch. The farro sits on a bed of dill infused crème fraiche. It is a deliciously refreshing salad and the perfect complement to any meal. For pastas, the sweet corn agnolotti ($28) was so light and fun. The little pockets of agnolotti is stuffed with corn and swims in a savory broth anchored by crème fraiche. It's giving summer and I'm absolutely here for it. Cento's dining space is quaint, so make sure to make a resy.

I don't understand how you can rate this place anything less than 5 stars! My experience was absolutely fantastic. We got a very late night last minute reservation, and we were seated outside under all of the beautiful twinkle trees. Music was playing, but it wasn't too loud (perfect for a first date or a nice dinner outing with friends!). Our waitress was so sweet, attentive, made great recommendations, and the bussers constantly were there to wipe down the table and take away old plates and silverware. I ended up sharing everything with a friend, and I'm so happy I did because it was hard to choose! The Cucumber & Basil cocktail was FANTASTIC!! You could taste the tequila, but still was a perfect mixture. As a bartender I am picky with my drinks and this was so refreshing and delicious. I ordered the Corn Pasta and my friend ordered the branzino. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you this was the best pasta I have had in the states!! It genuinely reminded me of being in Italy. The same way you don't feel gross after eating a bowl of pasta there-- that's how I felt here. It was light and delicious and such a unique flavor! The branzino was perfectly cooked. It came with a delicious cucumber salad under the fish as well. We then decided to order the spicy pomodoro pasta! I'm not huge spicy person, so this was perfect for me. Just a subtle hint of spice at the end. And the basil oil really took this dish over the edge. Finally, we had to get the banana pudding tiramisu. When I tell you, I am known in my friend group as the lover of these two desserts, so when my friend showed me that this restaurant had them both combined.. I immediately booked my reservation. And it did not disappoint! It was light and creamy and a wonderful dessert to end those marvelous dishes. I was STUFFED by the end of this but was well worth it!! 10/10 recommend. Will absolutely be booking again soon.

I have to admit, I don't eat pasta very often, but damn... the pasta here was amazing. Getting a reservation was surprisingly easy through OpenTable, which was a huge plus. We came on a Thursday night as a group of four and the place was pretty busy. From everything I've heard, Cento is one of the more popular pasta spots in LA right now, so I was excited to finally try it. We started with the radicchio salad which was delicious. Light, refreshing, and tangy, a great way to start the meal. For pasta, we ordered the Spicy Pomodoro, Sweet Corn Agnolotti, Broccoli Bucatini, and the Cavatelli Finocchio. Honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite because every single one was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauces were flavorful, and each dish felt unique. My only complaint is that the portions are a little small. I understand they're meant for sharing, but to be honest I probably could have eaten all four by myself. At around $30 per plate, this definitely isn't a cheap meal. One thing that was a little disappointing was that it was my fiancée's birthday and I had noted it on the reservation. We noticed another table receiving what looked like a special birthday dessert, but nothing was mentioned for us. My fiancée didn't want me to ask about it, so we just let it go and ended up getting dessert elsewhere. Not a huge deal, but it was a bit of a letdown. That said, the food itself was absolutely outstanding. If you're a pasta lover, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Charming laidback outdoor courtyard setting nestled in trees and a lively kitchen-view, counter seating inside. The menu is inviting with plenty of great options without being overwhelming. Less is more. But let's talk art (culinary, that is). The dishes certainly deserve main features. To start "the best Caesar salad in LA" and I quote which was certainly true. Grilled octopus charred on the inside and juicy at the center. Spicy pomodoro is perfectly al dente and a well-balanced sauce. But, my favorite-- the agnolotti! Wow, melt in your mouth! The flavor profiles of corn, crème fraiche, and old bay were delicious. My only wish -- larger serving of this (smallest pasta serving on the menu). To complete it, banana pudding tiramisu -- delicious too with a firm center and oozy outside. Atala was wonderful and very sweet. Recommendation: come with a group of at least 4 to try more on the menu -- the large plates (branzino and ribeye) looked excellent! Definitely a worthwhile visit.

the ambiance is amazing, just the perfect spot for a date night. the spicy pomodoro was delicious. I will def come back for the vibes and try other items. I'd also want to check out next door of the raw bar

I dined here for the first time on a Saturday evening and I am thoroughly pleased! The ambiance and the decor is amazing..... especially next door at the raw bar, it's like you're in a beautiful cave. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Our waitress made some good recommendations so we decided to try a few items (family style). We ordered duck confit, spicy pomodoro, sweet corn agnolotti, branzino (highly recommended), charred octopus, steak tartare, cavatelli finocchio, hamachi crudo, date cake and banana pudding tiramisu. Everything was absolutely delicious! You really can't go wrong with any choices on the menu. Everything we cooked to perfection with a lot of flavor. Also, if you sit at the hightop bar, the kitchen is an open concept so you can watch the chefs cook and plate the food. As far as the drinks, I am not sure if they have a full bar but they do have a few selection of wine along with a small cocktail menu. I stuck with the cucumber basil (with tequila). Flavorful and refreshing. Street parking may be hard to find but they do have valet parking for $12. Overall, it's worth a visit. I look forward to dining here again.

My friend and I had a 9:30pm reservation and were seated at the bar after a short wait. The ambiance was really cozy and intimate, and I loved that they have hooks underneath the bar for your bag. Sitting at the bar was definitely a plus because we got to watch the chefs cook throughout the night. We ordered the spicy pomodoro, squid ink mafaldine, and steak tartare, along with a sauvignon blanc and merlot to pair with the pasta. The steak tartare was good, but it was lacking a bit of flavor. The bread that came with it was perfectly toasted and honestly my favorite part of the dish. The spicy pomodoro was perfectly al dente and flavorful but it didn't really live up to the hype for me. I couldn't taste any truffle and it wasn't spicy at all. It was still a good pasta, just not life changing. The squid ink mafaldine was unfortunately pretty lackluster. The pasta tasted like al dente salt water, the prawns were overcooked, and it felt like they just threw a handful of raw basil on top and called it a day. The wines were good and paired well with the food but there wasn't anything particularly memorable about them. Service was great. Our server was super attentive and helpful. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was great, service was on point, and even though some dishes fell short, I'd definitely come back to try their other dishes!

I had a great dining experience at Cento Pasta Bar. The food was coursed out properly, and was delicious. I can definitely recommend the grilled octopus, rigatoni pasta, and hamachi crudo. Service was also amazing! Parking is tough; I recommend you valet. Overall, they had a great cocktail menu. Definitely worth the drive out there.

Don't go, but run! It's definitely a place you must try at least once , but I know you definitely will want to come back. Absolutely amazing service , super friendly and nice. I love that there is an open kitchen and you have an opportunity to watch the whole process. We went on Monday and the restaurant was packed , so better make a reservation. Spicy Pomodoro is my top - perfectly balanced , not too spicy, just has a little kick, fresh pasta and the sauce are amazing. It's simple , but it's something you must try in Cento. Beet Spaghetti is a unique taste , very rich flavor. Be ready , because it's a sweet pasta. Something I won't ever order every time , but for the experience it's definitely worth trying. And for all banana lovers - Banana Tiramisu. Yes, it's to die for - absolutely dessert magic. Light, creamy, banana heaven tiramisu that you cannot stop eati

Ask the Community - Cento Pasta Bar

Is this place loud? Thx in advance!

    No, you will enjoy it

Do they use tap to pay?

    If you want.

Do they have a cake fee?

    Yes

Are reservations mandatory or can I show up as soon as they open today?

    Reservations are not mandatory

Wanted to make a reservation this month but saw outdoor seating is more available, just wanted to make sure there will be shelter from a possible rainy day?

Last time I was there it didn't look like there was any overhead shelter in the outdoor area but that may have changed with the season. I'd suggest calling then and asking if they have un real las or any other cover for that area.

Is there an option to have the pasta be gluten free?

Menu does not list gluten free pasta and notes "Substitutions and modifications are politely declined"

    Does patio seating dog friendly?

Yes the table next to us had a dog 👍🏾

Did I read correctly in a review that there's a $10 pasta of the night?

Is there a happy hour menu?

    Nope

Is it kid friendly? Can I bring my kid with me?

I wouldn't say kid friendly per se but i think it would be fine/easier sitting outside since all the indoor dining is counter top high chairs.

    Do they accept walk-ins?

Yes, a couple walked in when we were checking in for our reservation.

Are they requiring proof of vaccination to sit at the counter?

Yes.. proof of vaccination required at this time

Do you do take out orders?

    No they don't

What are the deets on parking?

Hi! We have valet and street parking. Can't wait to have you done with us!

Ia this place open? I keep calling and no one answers.

Yes, they're open for business ... but, I agree that it's hard to get a hold of them by phone. Tried calling last Saturday with no answer, but showed up anyway at their new location across the street (inside J.J.'s Sandwich Shop) from their old one…

    Do they take reservations?

Yes.. you should make a reservation. I used Open Table to reserve.

What is the average cost of the pastas here? I see no menu

    Average is $16

    Parking is free? And easy?

No and No but it's worth whatever cost there is to parking. The Pasta is amazing!! 10 stars

    What's the parking situation?

    It's all street parking!

The covered outdoor dining area sits next to the rooftop pool, creating a true resort atmosphere. Once you're up on the sixth floor, it's easy to forget you're in the middle of Culver City. You can disappear from the city below for a few hours and just enjoy the atmosphere. On Sunday morning, after my daughter's wedding, our family gathered there for breakfast before everyone headed home. I had the open-faced omelet with wild mushrooms, poblano peppers, Monterey Jack, salsa macha, queso fresco, avocado, and micro cilantro. It was outstanding. I also sampled my daughter's pancakes and ordered a side of the smashed fingerling potatoes, both of which were excellent. The only hiccup came when the server accidentally dumped my side of breakfast potatoes into my brother-in-law's lap after the chrome fry basket tipped off the tray. He had already eaten elsewhere and had just sat down to visit with us, so it was an unfortunate way to say hello. The staff immediately apologized and brought out another order of potatoes, which was appreciated. I've had the farmer's plate before and it is delish. The veggies probably vary seasonally, but the creamy hummus and burrata and the kicky muhamarra were as fondly remembered. There is some street parking, but it is a busy area so I would assume it would not be very straightforward. Venue 4 stars: Cute restaurant with a full bar, indoor seating and a rustic patio area. Service 3.75 stars: Server-dependent... We had servers switched on us mid-steam. The first one was super friendly and attentive and helpful, but the one who took over was just OK. The manager was wonderful and circled around making sure that everything was going well. Drinks 4 stars: AOC is mainly a wine bar. They have as huge list of wines but also some tasty specialty cocktails and a full bar. We had the Kingbird, the Mezcal Royale, Flor De Jamaica and a Grey Goose Martini. All were well-made and delicious. Prices were OK but a little on the higher side. Food 3.75 stars: AOC is known for its farm-to-table small plates, and we did try some of their famous ones, but were not as satisfied as we had anticipated. First off, the portions, especially for the prices, are tiny... We had the Bacon Wrapped Dates (good but super small portion), Haricot Verts salad (just ok), the Shrimp (good), the Clams (good), the Grilled Seabass (good), the fries (great) and their famous Spanish Fried Chicken (too greasy for our taste). They do have a nice menu of desserts, but we did not try any this time around. Billing 2 stars: They add 7% to every check to provide health insurance for the employees. While I fully appreciate and applaud the cause and also the fact that they disclosed this at the bottom of the menu (which not everyone looks at) and also noted that the customer could ask for it to be removed (but c'mon, in reality, WHO in their right mind would feel right asking???), why not simply add this to their prices?
