Had a few places to choose from in celebrating an anniversary. This place looked pretty interesting and the food sounded really good. It was in fact very good. The plates are all "small bites" style (like appetizers). So it's recommended to order about 2-3 plates per person (ish). We had reservations, so we didn't have to wait for a table. It was quite busy, even at 4pm, so reservations are highly recommended. Our server greeted us promptly upon being seated. She took our order and made recommendations accordingly to our questions. Plates came in around the $15 range each. And cocktails ran just under $20 each. The atmosphere gives a sense of casual, but most people were dressed towards the business casual end. It is a very inviting and relaxing dining space, situated under the canopy of and around an enormous fig tree. I have been dining at Bacari for a number of years, as I really love the place and the menu. My partner had never been fond of the whole "shared plates" scene, so it wasn't until last year that I could get him to join me. He LOVED it! So, we went back for his birthday last week, and he wasn't as "wowed" as the 1st time. We chalked it up to having ordered something that included ingredients that didn't agree with him. I don't usually respond to emails - post meal, but this time, when asked how everything went, I responded to the owner's email and was honest with him. If you don't know what the word "mensch" means, look it up, and you'll probably find his photo! His response was SO out of this world KIND, and I can't thank him enough. I went to Bacari again for a birthday dinner and we sat upstairs at the outside patio and it was a lovely experience! The greenery and the foliage was beautiful. Our server was super attentive and kind and made sure that we had enough food and drink! My favorites still are the Lamb pizza and the Bacari fries. The pizza has such a good flavor and topped with the egg, it feels indulgent in the best way! The fries have the perfect crisp and the gravy/sauce is SO good! I could do with or without the egg on top but it was delicious! I got the Socal Staple for my drink and it was a great balance of sweetness. My first time at Bacari and I really enjoyed myself!! My friends and I decide to come here and it was a great idea!!! We came at 4:00 pm after brunch and it was still crowded! I ordered the grilled chicken breast which was phenomenal and I had some of my friend fries, which was very good and fresh! For our drink we all opt in on the 90 minutes open bar for $37 which is such a great deal!! It's rare when restaurants have this! I tried the espresso martini, you can get cocktails with this open bar and wine etc. the sparkling wine was great, and red sangria. 5/5 for the food and drinks. The service was phenomenal the servers was very nice and patient. If someone at our table did not like something they switched it and recommended something else. Attentive the entire time and gave great food suggestions. The ambiance was nice we sat outside at the outdoor patio upstairs. The only thing I feel is that it could have more handicap options for those who have disabilities and strollers. It can be more modern but it's nothing too great to elaborate on the decor. Amazing service. The all you can drink special is a TRAPPPPP because everything you taste is so well made. All the food and drinks were amazing. I came down and had a catch up dinner with 4 of my friends here. We stayed for over 2 hours just enjoying the view, trying new plates, and hanging out. I think the star of the show, for me, was the Asian Pear pizza which was kindly recommended by our server. There's so many different foods to try and the workers will help you choose if you need. The place itself is gorgeous whether you're sitting inside or outside. All the servers are so kind and down to earth. This is a great place you can dress up at or have a casual dinner with friends. 3.5 stars rounded up. First time to Bacari, and I wish we'd gone with a group. That seemed to be the vibe of the place. It's big, open-air, with different seating areas -- and even with the openness of it, it gets LOUD. We were two people and it was difficult for us to hear each other between the larger groups and the music. The dishes range from shareable "tapas" (or the Mediterranean version) to main courses. The person I was with had a personal mushroom flatbread/pizza, which clearly had a homemade crust and fresh veggies on it. I had the lamb hummus, which I really enjoyed -- came with pita bread that was also fresh and tasted homemade (whether it was or not!) and veggies for dipping. It doesn't look very large, but in the end I couldn't finish it, it was so filling! The hummus was very flavorful and had a nice little kick to it as well. If I get to go here again, I'll be glad to update my review with more info. But if you're looking for a place for a celebration or bringing a group, this is your place. If it's a quieter date or evening you're looking for, I might suggest trying someplace else and returning here when you're in the mood for a bit more of an exuberant atmosphere. read more

We sampled Brussels sprouts, shawarma chicken tacos, burrata, pork belly, stuffed mushrooms, and bread pudding for dessert. The tapa style servings are perfect sharing size. Our favorites were the shawarma tacos, the chicken was flavorful, topped with cabbage, the Brussels sprouts were crispy, charred and drizzled with a creamy topping, and burrata with pesto and vibrant heirloom tomatoes. Their menu is wide and the menu items intended for sharing so we were encouraged by our very nice waiter, Vincent, to get 2 to 3 items per person. We chose the scallops, burrata, stuffed mushrooms, broccoli, pork belly and crudo. Whoa!! Each item was prepared well and tasted so good! The one thing I can call out was that the pieces of fish used in the crudo weren't the best and it did not seem as cold or fresh as I'm accustomed to. Otherwise, everything was soo good! Inside their bar, they had a live band. The place has nice cozy vibes but lively and a good time! Upon walking in, you're transformed into this beautiful outdoor and indoor space. They seem to have a lot of tables and it gets so busy. We came in around 5:15pm on a Friday and were sat immediately but were told that they would need the table by 7:15pm or something like that. Which was not an issue at all. We sat down and ordered the mushrooms, glazed pork belly, Brie and Asian pear pizza, ricotta and beet gnocchi, and some cocktails. Everything was great! We visited Bacari Silver Lake today on Mother's Day and had a mostly enjoyable experience thanks to the food. My son ordered the cheese pizza, which was very well made and delicious. We started with the ceviche, and not only was it fresh and flavorful, but it was also very reasonably priced. Honestly, all of the dishes felt well priced and easily shareable for two people, which makes it easy to try a variety of items from the menu. We also ordered the seared sea bass and the beet gnocchi. The sea bass was flavorful and cooked really well, and the ricotta beet gnocchi was, as always, full of flavor and one of the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. Considering it was Mother's Day, it was disappointing to have to ask for assistance five separate times throughout our meal. One staff member in particular seemed irritated that we even needed help, which made the experience feel unwelcoming. I was able to dine in for dinner. We were a decent sized group celebrating a bday. As expected on a Friday night, it was busy. Try to find street parking if at all possible. Beautiful outdoor seating area. We were seated on the upper deck for lack of better words. Our waitress was lovely- sadly I didn't catch her name but she's thin, long dark hair and lots of tattoos. We were charged for the bread and olive oil, smh. Meals were delivered to the table almost one at a time or two max. It was very strange. I have never seen a kitchen operate this way. Usually, the entire ticket is prepared/ cooked and brought out all together. This truly bugged me. I was the last one at the table to receive my meal. I ordered the flat iron steak. Although I enjoyed my meal, the portion was small. Everyone in our group noticed and mentioned how small the food portions are. I guess get ready to order multiple items in the future for next visits to share. The Asian pear pizza is delicious. Tried the shrimp ceviche- it was ok. I'm not used to have round whole tomatoes in my ceviche. Those that ordered the seabass also enjoyed that dish. Compared to a lot of other places nearby and similar quality, this place is affordable. Came here on a Saturday evening to celebrate two of my friends' birthdays. We were a party of 5-6 (one came later) and even though we had a reservation for 7:45pm, we did have to wait a good amount of time for our table to be ready and get seated. We did come 5-10 min late though but we got seated about 40 minutes after our reservation time. It wasn't until we asked the staff again if our table was ready that we were finally led to our table. Despite this, the restaurant was sooo nice and aesthetic! It was a beautiful vibe and I loved the outdoorsy feel. I think there is some seating inside but most was outside. It is pretty dark though if you come later at night and only lighting are the candles but you get used to it lol. As for the food: soooo good!! But the portions are tiny! Our server, Madeleine, did warn us they were small plates (she was awesome btw). We were doing family style and ended up ordering a lot of dishes to try. I got the bacarati cocktail (a crowd pleaser for sure everyone loved it) and my friend got the open wine bar. We got a complementary bread with garlic olive oil since our wait was long, which was so good. We got the margherita pizza, asian pear with brie pizza, shawarma tacos, burrata caprese, and ricotta and beet gnocci. Beware that the most amount of tacos you get is 4, and if you want 5 you'd have to order another serving for a total of 8. The food was all super good and my favorite was the asian pear with brie pizza which had a unique taste. The food did take a bit to come out and we just ate as the dishes came out. It wasn't much of an issue though, and they did give us small birthday slices which we so appreciated! I do recommend coming here at least once as the quality of the food is amazing but be prepared to find parking (we just did valet) and wait even if you have a reservation. Came here for a birthday dinner, outdoor seating is so extremely cool it literally felt like we were seated in a forest / huge tree house Our server Madeline was so attentive and fun and validated all of the items I ordered All the dishes were delish and though we knew they were gonna be small bc tapa restaurant everyone was able to get a good amount of bites of each dish. The pork belly was so good it made my friend andrew curse ("fuck why is this so good") right when our server was coming by LMAO. Of course I absolutely loved the mediterranean corn + we also got the sea bass which came with not enough corn so it was perfect. I also really liked the little gem salad tho i got flamed for ordering "just lettuce" but it was so much more than that Genuinely just recommend all of the items pictured. The asian pear pizza is also apparently highly recommended and popular and I could see why, it was a great pizza. Great place! I went on a Sunday with a group of friends and we all did the Dine LA menu. I got the mujadara and chickpea hash. For dessert I got the vegan chocolate cake. The mujadara was delicious it was tangy which I loved. The chickpea hash was good too tasted like chickpea with queso. The chocolate cake was amazing loved how soft and fluffy the cake was with the chocolate syrup. However, the service was great, but food came out slowly. My overall experience here was awesome. I made reservations for two on a Saturday for brunch. They have valet parking right out front, but I found a parking spot just across the street. Dowloaded the ParkMobile app and paid by cell phone. My friend found free street parking up the residential street. I reserved a table outdoors in the garden. Very nice. It's completely enclosed on the sides, but open at the top. The hostess walked us to a table right next to the tree. The sun was in my eyes, so we asked to be moved to the next table, which she did. Because it was my girlfriend's birthday, the hostess had a couple glasses of proseccos delivered to our table, on the house. Ahh, so sweet. If you've never been, they recommend 2-3 plates to share, per person. As they were out of pancakes, we ordered the Shawarma tacos, Avocado Toast, Crudo, and Lamb Shakshouka Pizza. The food was delicious. The taco plate usually comes with 3 tacos. We added 1, so we could have 2 each. The meat was tender. Great Avocado Toast. The Crudo was thinly sliced and spicy, a unique twist on sashimi. My favorite was the pizza. Thin crust with a variety of tasty flavors. Afterwards, we ordered the bread pudding for dessert. They topped it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and lighted the candle at the table. And we ordered a couple more glasses of proseccos. Staff were friendly and efficient. Bacari saved our day after a long drive and reaching the city late. We snagged the 10 PM reservation. Food & Drink: The Crudo was my most favorite of the lot. Other things worth every bite were pork chops, fried chicken sliders, glazed pork belly, jidori chicken wings and lamb hummus. We also got the pistachio cremeschnitte for dessert. Each dish was so flavorful and decadent. No notes. Since most of the food is Tapas style They have a great cocktail menu too, loved the resurrection & espress yourself. Ambiance: We were seated outdoors and this place might just have the best outdoor seating. Very moody, whimsical and chic, great lighting and music too. Service: Since we had a reservation, we were seated immediately. The waitstaff were very sweet, helped us decide a few dishes too. The serve-staff explained every dish in detail and were very nice. my favorite bacari location thus far! very impressed by the tree house and the ambience of bacari is like 1000x amplified here. virtually every table ordered a shrimp ceviche which checks out because it's pretty good. the pizza was super good. id skip the crudo because the fish is a bit drying fourth time trying to get the asian pear pizza and fourth time failing because i come too early in the day, their brunch is from 10:30-2pm. read more
