When I called to schedule service I was told it was $95.00 to show up and I agreed. We wanted two faucets installed and Nick who did a nice job. He then quoted me I asked him to leave based on the price, $1800.00. He than told me he could reduce it to $1600.00. Still crazy high, I asked about a military discount because I am disabled vet, Nick than let me know that they did not offer a military discount. Than do not advertise you do. Based on the time spent in our home the hourly rate turned out to be $500.00 per hour. I was wanting an itemized receipt if you can send that my way. This company should be ashamed the way they do business. Yes I signed the tablet to agree to the work. SHAME ON ME! I will not ever use them again and I am going to report them to the BBB and the State Attorney's Office if I do not hear from them and get a decent discount. Recently moved to Lake County and knew when purchasing the home I would eventually need to replace the hot water heater. It went out a few months before I had planned to replace it and the in laws were coming. I was out of town and Wife was home. Asked to replace with a name brand comparable unit. Everything I had priced and got estimates on prior, the most expensive quote I got was $1300 installed. I could not find another plumber available that day and my Wife wanted it fixed. These guys charged $3000 to replace with a generic 40 gallon hot water heater! 3k! Everyone I have told about this also believes it was ridiculously high. We had a main drain plugged, which means EVERY DRAIN was backing up on us! We called Prime and received service within 3 hours. The problem was diagnosed and taken care of in about an hour. Keeping this from a top review was the fact we found one of our bath towels was used for cleanup by the plumber and left there, so dirty it wouldn't come clean and we had to dispose of it. The outdoor faucet broke inside wall, but it does have access panel. I had to shut off entire house water I could've fixed it but was in a hurry. I could've & should've replaced it myself. Problem was my friend had an emergency at same time. I called PRIME PLUMBING, (big costly mistake) they came over from SR19, about 20 minutes away, PP charged me a $100 bucks just to come out Problem is; I am rushed but "thats no ones fault" but I'm hurried and sure it showed. I'm very glad I called Prime Plumbing today. Last night, I dropped my ring down the bathroom sink so I contacted them at 8AM this morning to ask if anyone could come over to Sorrento and retrieve it for me, anytime today but preferably ASAP. The man on the phone said that someone was available and could be there in half an hour, and was upfront about the dispatch fee ($59) before asking for any of my information. I thought it was very respectable. I've never hired a plumber for anything myself, and after reading some other Yelp reviews for plumbers in the area, I was expecting to (1) wait an extra 2 hours on top of the time frame given, and (2) be overcharged. I am so beyond pleased with Prime Plumbing. Two men showed up about 20 minutes (!) after I hung up the phone. The job itself only took about 5 minutes, and the man was very friendly and even checked for leaks. The price was VERY reasonable. If I could James (the owner) ZERO stars I would. Contacted him through home warranty service for an emergency plumbing repair as the expert plumber who could scope the line and detect the location of the leak that was causing sewer water to run under several floors in the house. He did not scope the line. Instead he said we had to demolish the wall where he expected the leak to be, then he would return. We demolished all walls where he said it would be and texted him pictures in the wall. He was supposed to return on Saturday morning. Then it became sometime Saturday. Then it became Sat or Sun. Meanwhile, water was still destroying more and more of the house. Then he ignored all calls and texts. (None were rude!) On Monday, we were finally able to contact him and he said he no longer wanted to do the repair. We lost a several days trying to stop sewer water from infiltrating our home. This is absolutely disgusting and all he did was complain when he first arrived that he wouldn't get paid enough to fix the problem. Definitely avoid this company! read more

When I called Prime Plumbing, I was connected to a live person who took by information professionally and had an appointment set up within a few days. My issues were complex due to some older plumbing, but they managed to complete the tasks promptly and with good humor. Each of the gentlemen who came out were very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a sub slab pinhole water leak that caused damage to our guest bathroom and carpet. It caused us to have to turn off our water for almost 24 hours. Plummer Kevin Hill from Prime Plumbing Inc. worked on the problem and within 5 hours had the leak found, slab opened, hole located and pipe fixed. In addition he cleaned up the mess he made, filled and cemented the hole in the slab. He was efficient, fast and friendly. Made a very taxing problem go away all the while calming our fears. Be forewarned about Prime Plumbing!! This company will overcharge you for their poor quality of service, not honor warranty claims, and lack all ethical professional practice. They're service manager actually made the statement that "they aren't use to dealing with customers who had some plumbing knowledge". That just shows this company lacks morals from the top, down. Whether you have plumbing knowledge or not shouldn't determine the quality of service. I have had multiple interactions with this company after an initial job I had them do (which was done poorly). Every time they attempted to "make things right," more problems came to light that were just disgraceful. I will never do business with, or recommend this company again! No remorse from prime plumbing despite bringing these issues to their attention. I get the feeling they are used to their employees doing sub-par work. I had a very bad experience with Prime Plumbing. A job that should have taken a day or two at the most took a week. The plumber brought the wrong hot water heater, didn't complete the job, left a mess and charged much more than the verbal quote. The plumber refused to give me an itemized estimate or bill. I didn't even get a receipt for payment. He said he needed 50% down so I paid him $1,700 as requested to start the job. The final payment was $2826.42 which was $1,126.42 (33%) more than the quote and he didn't even replace the tub drain or the kitchen faucet. BEWARE!! read more

I have read a fair number of reviews about the Company so today when I had an issue I figured I'd give them a try. I needed what I thought was a wax ring replacement on a toilet. Normally I just do this stuff myself but my spouse is pretty ill so I figured I'd just pay to have it done. First and foremost I don't get the $59 fee just to show up especially when that fee is not rolled into the job, But today a lot of tradesman are doing that but I still don't get it. Being a businessman myself I have to quote work I do and have never required a fee just for me to take a look at the job. But the fee was disclosed when I made the appt although the fact that it is not rolled into the job was not mentioned. The original quote for the replacement of the wax ring was approx $305 which I thought was a little steep. (that included the $59 fee) Since materials for a job like this is approx $10 I'm paying about $300 for what should be an hour of work at most. I understand overhead and all that but that is a little high. BUT then it was discovered that the flange on the toilet was broken so it too had to be replaced. So now I'm expecting to get really jacked on this job since the replacement of the flange is much more time intensive. But it added only about $30 more to the total job price. Puzzling. Nick was the serviceman and he did a good job. He takes some extra steps that I think others might shortcut and he takes the time to explain what he's doing which I like. When looking at the overall job the price of $338 was agreeable since it was much more involved than just a wax ring. I caution prospective customers that they do charge an extra 3% if you want to use a credit card. Once upon a time that was against merchant agreements but, again, others do it although I think it is shortsighted. I teetered between 3 and 4 stars on this review. They were at my house in less than an hour after I called and did a good job. I have some issues with pricing but in the end I thought it ended up being fair. Dispatch and credit card fees are not my cup of tea. So overall I was pleased although for small plumbing jobs there might be more reasonably priced options. read more

Made an appointment for these folks to come out and replace a faucet in a garden tub. In discussing it with the two gentlemen that came out, it was decided that we would explore greater tile replacement (as they would have to replace tiles to repair the faucet). Very cordial and professional at the time - was told "will have you an estimate by the end of the day". Three days go by so we called. We were told "we apologize, just waiting on our tile guy" or something along those lines. Fast forward two weeks and nothing. I called and left a message (paraphrasing) "if you all want this work please call us back". Not a peep. They had three phone numbers, two email addresses and our physical address which is local. Bottom line - I am sure the owner / manager has no idea this happened, but I am fairly certain this isn't how you want your business to be seen. Maybe others will have better luck. read more

The plumbing work was done correctly, but the whole experience and their exorbitant prices left me very unsatisfied with this company. - After the work was complete, I called plumber 3x to get me a bill so I could pay - Received a call from one of the two office managers with a rude demand that I pay immediately (about a week after the work was complete). I said I'd pay as soon as a I received an invoice with the charges and an estimate for additional work. - Plumber finally called back with a feeble excuse for not getting back to me. - Received invoice and estimate for additional work about 2 days later; called and spoke with other office manager and gave credit card over the phone. - Almost 1 month later, I received a letter from the company threatening to turn the account over to a collection agency. - Called the office and spoke with the first office manager. She said "Oh, disregard that letter - it probably crossed in the mail". (Which was impossible because I called the office directly to make payment). - Called office again and spoke with other office manager to explain how rudely I'd been treated. He merely said "Oh, yes, just disregard that letter." Tried to explain again that their customer service was poor and I wanted to speak with the owner. He refused my request as the owner doesn't handle any of the day-to-day operations. read more

BEWARE They padded my bill and refused to negotiate the charges threatening me with legal action. I called having water damage in my home. The technician, not plumber, spent 3+ hours, trying to diagnose the problem which was apparent after the first hour - I needed leak detection services. He spent hours running around my house, yard and roof and writing up a lengthy report of little merit. I asked the technician if he was certified or licensed. He said he started working after high school - that's all. I lost faith in his ability to diagnose or fix my problem and did not follow through on his recommendation to break through my house slab to detect a leak or leaks unknown?? Additionally, he was going to charge up to $500 to install a pressure reducing valve before any work could be guaranteed, something my water utilities company does for free and I had done. I called an independent leak detection company and in an hour the leak area was detected above the slab. This company may be ok for small plumbing issues but don't call them for anything you need a real plumber for! read more

SENIORS BEWARE!! Very disappointed to say the least. Will not be recommending this business at all. My 80 year old mother called for a simple wax toilet ring replacement. Two nuts, replace a cheap wax ring, and done. Never more than one hour labor and probably less than $20 in parts. Rusty the tech seemed uninterested in doing the job and quoted an astounding $282. Plus, the office told my mom that the $79 service call fee could be applied to the job, if she decided to go with the repair. Rusty said that was NOT TRUE. The $79 would have to be paid in addition to the cost of the repair. I've used many services that use dispatchers and know that the service call fee gets rolled into the repair. He just saw a senior citizen and figured he'd try to take advantage. My mom has a handicap seat that would have required the tech removing two extra nuts, that's all. He made a big deal about having to do that. SENIORS, BEWARE!!! Maybe it was Rusty, but no effort was made by the company to reach out and find out why we decided to not go with the repair. If this is how the company treats its customers, I really wonder how it has the Yelp rating that it does. read more

After requesting service during the weekday hours for the price quoted, the plumber did not turn up, so I called and was told he was on an emergency call, but he would be arriving soon. He called when it was the emergency hours (when I would have to pay an addition $40) and he did say it was now emergency hours and I would have to pay. I will edit this review further after they come out and provide our final bill and service to us. **updated** The guys came out and did a fantastic job! They were there for about an hour and took their time to do it appropriately without rushing the job. They made sure to stay around and wait for the glue to dry before turning the water back on. When the job was complete they tested the water line for pressure and checked for any other leaks. It was a job well done! BEWARE is right!, Keith came out to our house in a rain storm to find a leak in our yard. UH, everything is wet. Dug a hole, found a sprinkler head that was leaking, went to Home Depot because he didn't have the part. Pumped the water from the hole 3 times and decided to come back the next day. Re-dug the hole. Charged us $425.00 to fix NOTHING!!! We called to talk to the company about resolving this problem only to be told we will get back to you. I hired prime to replace my tubes that fit into my water filtration system, I could do it myself but the tubes are hard to turn, the plumber took an over an hour to replace them, it should normally take 5 minutes, the plumber even tried to shut off the main system water, you don't need to turn the water off at all, finally the plumber called his office and they straighten him out, thank god I thought he was going to stay in my house over night and the work is over priced read more

Prime Plumbing and their "Master Approved Technician" was called on Wednesday 2/7/2018 to repair a back up of waste into the bathtub. After claiming the repairs had been made and charging me $583.07 the same issue occurred less than 48 hours later, their response was it would cost me several hundred more for them to fix what they were paid to repair and demanded payment upfront before they would send out another plumber. I will be seeing them in Court POOR workmanship no standing behind their repairs. read more

Moving into the area a year ago, we were dependent on recommendations from others for reliable service providers. Prime did an excellent job with large and small plumbing jobs that were needed before we could move into our home. Service was excellent, products were of high quality, and plumbing skills went above and beyond expectations. All together, leaky stacks in the basement were repaired, toilets were replaced, sinks and showers were repaired, and upgrades of fixtures were completed in a timely, competent manner. While repairing the sink, the plumber noticed a piece that was not yet broken, but would probably need attention a year or two down the line, so the part was replaced just to prevent future problems.
